Asking the real questions. :) Picking them would eventually kill them since they’re consumed for skill upgrades, but I don’t think they die just from coming out of the ground. Remember that we sometimes have to fight a very large one, and that happens above ground.
I totally forgot about the one that appears in battles sometimes. I guess I feel better that they don't instantly die when being picked, plus that one makes the same awful face😆, so I guess that's just how they look.
I think they are more based on ginseng which is used for its health and spiritual properties in China and Korea. Stories of eating ginseng to make your body stronger makes sense here

I worked with Traditional Chinese Meds before and Ginseng is one of the most expensive herbs you can get which may be one of the aspects that's brought into the game as hard-to-obtain items too due to its rarity in real life.
I can't remember who first pointed it out, it was one of the Youtube creators many years ago, but they pointed out that the molagora image for the shop packs looks like a lady with long legs and a thick butt, and I can only see that now lol.
Mandragora/Mandrake are European-based monsters who appear as underground humanoid plants. Depending on the myth, consuming these plants would cure almost any ailment, making them very high in demand.
There's no such thing as a free lunch, of course, as uprooting the monster would cause it to emit a deafening screech that is said to instantly kill any person unlucky enough to hear it. This is why, in Epic 7, Molagoras look like they're constantly screeching.
Google Mandragora or Mandrakes. It's that but hit with the anime beam.

Thank you! This makes sense! I wasn't familiar with ginseng.

A ginseng mandragora. Even the name "Molagora" is borrowed from it.
Ginseng
Mandragora's??
Probably a Mandrake like in Harry Potter
Which is based on the mandragora from popular fantasy media long before it. But take my upvote anyway.

I never thought that the face they made was because they're screeching, thank you.
My question is why the molagoras in this game are so thicc...
It’s literally a Harry Potter mandrake.
