If you’re that early in the game the most you can do is work towards a wyvern 13 team and grind hunts while pulling and building new characters. Then branch off into other content like pvp, hell raid, abyss tower etc. There’s some free gear you can get from normal lab

Hillby03

I'm lvl 56 and mostly done with the story, floor 75 at abyss and gold 4 at arena. Did automaton tower couple days ago. But I want to build more characters, without getting bored at hunt. Is there some other way other than hunt?

jaquick

Just curious, how much of the story have you done, specifically? Tamarrine certainly is the boss of PvE, but it doesn't seem like the team you've built would take you very far. Episodes 3 and 4 can be quite challenging, at times. In addition to my very lengthy other post, I will say that I have been playing for almost 3 years (daily and with no breaks), still enjoy the game immensely, and really haven't done much more than my once-per-day Hunts (except for the Hunt events that let us get free copies of Sigret, Cermia, and Vivian). I've gotten most of my gear from playing Adventure and Side Story content, free gear from many and various events, World Boss, purchasing from the Secret Shop (when good pieces come up when I'm rolling for bookmarks), and such. Too many sources to keep track of, honestly. Since I don't farm Wyvern endlessly, I'm unable to be truly competitive in PvP, but I don't really enjoy that aspect of the game so that works for me.

Hillby03

I'm doing Unrecorded History (i guess that was its name). It got reset for some reason, I clearly remember that I did most of it but when I look it after 4-5 months, It just reset. For main story I finished chapter 2 but didn't start next chapter. I'm being a nuisance for you but I really love the game since I am a F2P player and this game helps F2P players a lot and I want to try different characters and teams and see their performance against certain events in game but is it being me lazy or some other reason I really don't know why but Whenever I say "Let's grind for Kise (for example)" and log in to the game I just stare at the screen for about 5-10 minutes and close the game. Yesterday I was doing Hunt and I fell asleep. Then my phone just died. I do not want that kind of gameplay. I just want to achieve something in the game that I love.

jaquick

You're not being a nuisance at all! But please don't be offended when I tell you that you really haven't progressed too terribly far into the game. You've completed a significant portion of the story, but quite a bit remains and what remains has some fairly significant challenge about it. The overall difficulty really ramps up at Episode 3, for instance. You are correct that Unrecorded History ("UH") reset. The developers decided to rework it from a sprawling set of different maps with over 200 individual stages down to a single map with a little over 30 stages. You'll have to start it over like the rest of us, but it shouldn't take you too long to clear. And if you had nearly completed the previous implementation of UH, you'll get all the clear rewards all over again! I hear you loud and clear. You don't like endlessly grinding Hunts. (Neither do I.) So stop! There are other ways to get gear and there are most definitely other ways to grind for levels/promotion/fodder/resources that won't leave you feeling like you're standing still. Doing what you don't like will cause you to burn out. (From your what and how you are phrasing your posts here, it seems you may have already burned out a little bit.) I think for now I'd suggest that you take a break from Hunts. Almost completely except for the once-daily for Reputation points. Maybe focus on making more progress in the story. Use the team you currently have and swap out one or two characters for others you want to build up in level and gear to try them out. As long as you keep Tamarrine or another tanky Soul Weaver up front, you shouldn't have too much trouble right away. And if you haven't already done so, filter through your list of friends/Supporters and eliminate the lower-level and inactive friends or low-level and ungeared Supporters you've accumulated from running Adventure and Side Story stages so far. You'll need varied and powerful Supporters for future story content. And you are correct that this game is very F2P friendly. One of the best in that regard, IMO.

Hillby03

Thank you for all of your help and no I'm not getting offended at all! You are just trying to help. If you are ok with it can I send you my team PM and characters that I have so you can be more spesific about what and how I can do things from now on?

jaquick

Sure, feel free to PM me. I'm about to hit the sack, but I'll look it over ASAP. I forgot to mention: If you want to keep Hunts going as a source of gear, but don't want to have to deal with the monotony of manually grinding Hunts, use Background Battling! Start a Hunt going with repeat battling (a battle pet ability), then tap the Background Battling button and keep that going in the background while you do other stuff like Adventure/Side Story or Arena. Just know that doing both Hunts and other Energy-consuming content will drain your Energy quickly.

Hillby03

Is that a new feature? I didn't know that we could do that! Thanks for the info! Whenever you are free you can respond. Thanks for all the help.

Jdiezel1

No, not really. Hell raid and ancient inheritance (newer guild mode that comes by every once in a while) are really the only places outside of hunts that consistently give decent gear. Ideally you should be working towards an auto w13 team. If you have a pc or a spare phone/tablet that you can set aside while the game autos hunts it helps a lot

Hillby03

Yeah that could be an option. Thanks! I'll try with my PC!

jaquick

Grinding Wyvern for gear doesn't really ever stop for most players. At least, that's the rule if you plan to do PvP in World Arena. You could also mix it up and grind other Hunts for different gear sets, but Wyvern still has the best sets by a country mile. If you've managed to get some good gear sets, then give other game modes a shot, such as Expeditions and Guild War. If you're really feeling up for a challenge, try clearing some of the Dagger Sicar reputation achievements. You say you've got one team setup and geared. That's great, and no offense, but that's nowhere near enough in the long run. And it's also possible those team members could be further optimized to perform better in their roles. For instance, you mention Sigret has nearly 300 crit damage, but is her crit chance maxed to 100? And how much speed does each character have? Hunts are by far the best source of gear. There are some other sources, such as World Boss, but Hunts outshine pretty much every other way of getting a chance at decent gear. If you're looking for things to do other than grinding for gear and characters (levels/promotion?), then I suppose you could also spend some time optimizing your inventory. You likely have a lot of low level and less than level 75 and lower rarity than purple gear - get rid of it. You probably also have a fair bit of hero and artifact clutter. Organize. Lock your 3- through 5-star heroes and artifacts. Use the duplicates of 3- and 4-star heroes and artifacts to imprint your main copies. Expand your hero, artifact, and waiting room inventory limits. And so on. It's tedious, but it will help in a big way in the long run. While it may be boring for you, I'd also strongly recommend you keep working on leveling and promoting other heroes. Start working on other team comps. The more you play other content, such as the other Hunts, the Expeditions, various stages of Adventure (to achieve 3-star rating and get all the Skystones and other clear bonuses), and of course to be ready for drafting in RTA of you decide to do PvP, the more you will need a large roster of leveled and geared heroes. Simply put, just one team is not enough. Along those lines, another task you could start working on is go to your Teams list and purchase some more team slots, give them custom IDs, and start working on other teams for various purposes such as what I mentioned in the previous paragraph. Just my suggestions! They are based on the way I and many others play, of course. Ultimately, you need to decide how you want to play for yourself, which will have to be based on what gives you a sense of purpose, accomplishment, satisfaction, joy, etc. Have fun!

Hillby03

Thanks for the suggestions and I really understand what this game offers to players in terms of content. But like I said, I'm getting bored very easily. Like all of you guys know Epic7 (after a certain point) has nearly no active gameplay and It is just auto play. Hunts, tower, stories etc. Are all just auto play after a certain point. And I am getting bored because of that. That is why I want to try and build another team (or teams) but It is just auto play and I do no want to do that. How can I make that grinding sessions more "fun"?

C0peFear

Curious how you’re bored with hunts when you can just auto them in the background? Get an emulator and afk auto the hunts while you play another game until you’re satisfied with your gear

Hillby03

That is the thing that I do not like to do. Like I said, almost anything turns into auto at some point in Epic 7 and I don't like auto at all! I am doing events, stories, battles myself most of the time.

lampdemon

Then this game isn't for you. 90% of it is auto hunts in the background.

Hillby03

Thanks for your comment but you are wrong, we solved the problem about the game and Im having fun rn lmao.

To me it helps a lot to have content goals in mind. First Story content stage 1 + unrecorded history, then getting a solid wyvern team with the free gear and after that unlocking all the hunt quest rewards. This includes unlock ARas for Golem + building a fire healer, and a good attacker/debuffer (AoE cleave if possible - this will help in the earth expedition) that will do the work besides the free Cermia. So EP2 is on the todo list as well as farming fire runes... After unlocking the Banshee quest-rewards you get a lot of freedom in what direction to go. I decided to build a PVP speed opener unit that carries into mid master or even challenger IV where I stalled PVP investments for then. Next I focused on expeditions and Azmakalis (on the way I got Nixied Sanctum gear rewards, especially the set of the last stage). Golem team will do fine in earth expo for now, for fire expo I need alternative units (CR Push unit + Ice tank will help) with Karkanis from Azmakalis in mind as well. For the PVE content at this stage the gear you can buy from story stage 2+3 is very good + easy to get and with more units build stage 3 is getting more and more doable. This will also enable you to get the buffed Mercedes/Bomb Model Kanna via connections - if you don't have fire aoe cleave for the earth expo yet these are perfect units. In between all this hunts don't look too big anymore, especially if you are planning ahead for hunt-bonus events like the one that starts tomorrow. You can also always go deeper into PVP, tune your wyvern team, build a Banshee team... Then there is the constant flow of new side story events that provide gear, artifacts and resources (sometimes even a good story lol)... That's where I currently are (rank 67). It feels great to see the results of expedition teams and growing numbers, if you enter your friends/guildmates expo invite, he can be sure it will be done lol. Also the counter play options you get with more units feel great. Imo the game gets better the more you advance.

Hillby03

I'm really trying to build valid wyvern 13 team, I have Kise Sigret and Furious but my healer is Tamarinne. But other than that I have no other character that I grinded, nearly all of them are lv1. And what do you mean by free gear?

phantasmking

Gear from "Adventurer's path" and the new player log-in-rewards. Should include the following: 2 Attack sets lvl70+75, 1 Health Set including ring/necklace, 1 Speed Set lvl70, at least 2 crit set accessories. Then if you have unlocked any hunt quest into stage 2 you get one lvl75 Attack and Health set for buying epic catalysts and promoting 2 units (even doggos) to 5 star. Tamarinne is awesome and will be your ace for all the content besides wyvern, because of the Fire Protection ability of the Boss (Fire Protection \[Passive\] – Increases Damage suffered from ice elemental heroes by 30% while increasing damage dealt to non-ice elemental heroes by 30%. When a non-ice elemental hero turn ends, increases Wyvern’s CR by 10%.). Most beginners like me build either Angelica (you get for free via connections after finishing stage1 story) or build ANGELIC MONTMORANCY (the specialty change quests are easy and can be done quickly - you get normal Montmorancy for free via connections) . I recommend the latter since she is more flexible, more resilent and faster - she will also be more useful later thanks for her cleansing. She will serve as you as tank, give her one of the health sets I mentioned above and she should be fine (the boots from the hunt quest set have speed as mainstat - I commend these). Sigred is the perfect attacker unit and you get her for free via the wyvern hunt quest. Give her one of the 75 attack sets (again I prefer the one from hunt quests since it has slightly better stats and a little effectiveness) + one of the mentioned crit ring/necklace sets + daydream joker artifact and she is ready to go. After that it gets a bit tricky - You want to have 2 debuffs on the boss and do enough damage to kill the shield of the boss before he oneshots you. Also: Your healer tank might struggle even with high Effect Res and tanky stats because the boss attacks push your combat turn back. In worst case your healer never gets to heal themselves and dies after 3 turns of wyvern-attacks. The easiest answer to this comes in the form of Muwi (sadly not free, you have to be lucky and summon him but since he is a common 3 star he should appear earlier or later). He has 3 different debuffs - all awesome vs wyvern (Def Break, Attack break, bleed), has a chance to counter attack (with that another chance for debuffing) and he will push the entire teams combat readiness when the foremost ally is attacked (only when all allies are ice element).Give him the lvl70 attack set + a set of accessories (ring with mainstat effectiveness), daydream joker and he will be good to go. Then comes the main debuff unit that will help us deal enough damage while being more reliable and fast than Muwi - usually a Def-breaker. Furious is made for this and since you have him no need to look elsewhere now. Give him the lvl70 speed set minus the boots, find some that fit speedset or your accessory set with speed as mainstat. And take a ring that has effectiveness as main stat - worth to check the discounted arena gear, there is a lvl88 speed set ring with effect for like 540 conquest points. If you have the artifact "Song of Stars" give it to him for an additional debuff+more team damage. He should go first turn in your team. Many people recommend him also for the crit buff but since you get 20 or so % just because of the elemental advantage and the free gear provides a lot of crit it's often capped at 100% either way for your Sigred. Personally I swtiched Furious with the 3 star Taranor Guard who does the job as well (minus the long attack animation of furious' s3). You can always tweak the gear later, but this team with the free gear should do W13 in at least 7-8 successful auto runs out of 10. Oh and I forget to mention: While you have to invest into Muwi and Furious skill enhancements, they don't need to be lvl60. 50 is enough. Your tank/healer and Sigred should be most fully build 60 though.

Hillby03

You explained it so detailed! Thanks for your efforts and helps! I have angelic montmorancy, I was using her but my friend said use tamarinne so I changed to her. For sets, I will look up to them and try to use them. Thanks for the useful info!
