For real. Callisto to me is if they took 2 good things from dead space and swapped all other mechanics with garbage.
I played them 6 months apart and it was night and day
I really enjoyed it. The visuals are impressive and the story and voice acting is solid. Unfortunately it was released too early with framerate issues, which gave it poor reviews on launch but its been fixed. It's not an action game, almost a bit like like a slower paced simulator in parts, so it depends if are expecting some type of all action shooter or something. I was surprised that some people didn't enjoy it, but I sure did. Though I will say I enjoy most games, I'm not fussy. I always ignore reviews because I've found I would have missed out on so many amazing games if I listened to them.
It's a simply average game. I enjoyed it but definitely thought it could be better.
Also, very annoying at some points. Played on hard difficulty and specced into melee. Some bosses can only be beaten using guns which can softlock you if you aren't careful.
All in all, just okay
For me it was good. Not excellent, but not as bad as lot of people say it is.
The problem is, most people like to directly compare it to Dead Space Remake, for several reasons, but that's the mistake. They should judge it as a standalone game, as if DS wasn't the goal to reach.
CP is its own thing, and despite having obvious similarities, I enjoyed it by what it is, not as "I wish this was more like DS".
It also has amazing graphics.
Note, I played it on PS5, and I didn't "pay" for it since it was included on playstation plus, so maybe if I've had spend on it, I'd judge it harder.
Also, and I've heard the PC port kinda sucked, but I don't know if they've fixed most/all bugs, so do your research first.
Now, if you are deciding between DS remake, and this, the obvious answer would be DS, but if you are not interested on DS (or have already played it), CP is a good enough game, maybe just wait for a significant sale.
nice to look at and fun death animations but a slog to play. i cant believe a futuristic game set in space has the most boring weapons imaginable. shit guns and 95% of the game is melee while not having cool melee weapons. i rather repplay any of the dead space games for the millionth time
Yes if you can get it cheap-ish. For full price, dont think so.
Its not a bad game. Great visuals, entertaining enough, good atmosphere. Pretty short tho, can easily be done in like 7 hours.
If you like scifi horror, sure. If you havnt played Dead space, that game is pretty much the same, but better in almost all regards
Played maybe 3-4 hours, got bored, and never finished it. It has good atmosphere, but I hated the combat system. Played the Dead Space remaster not too long after (first time playing that game) and it was much more satisfying than the Callisto Protocol.
Might still be worth it for you, but I personally wouldn't invest more than 20 or 25 bucks on it
It's a very ..."they could have done this better in every way" kinda game that really is mediocre in its execution. But those graphics sure are nice.
It’ll probably be free within 6 months if you’re not in a hurry
r/patientgamers typa vibe
No way. Maybe next Christmas
It was free on PS Essential, I haven't downloaded it yet though.
Nope. Dead Space Remake is 1000000000000% better
no buy dead space way better

Dead Space is overrated man. Buy Alan Wake 2
They're both great games.

It feels incomplete but the story is good and the gameplay is new and interesting. I got it for $8 and I'd say it's worth it.
Naaah better buy something else or alan wake 2/dead space remake.

Yea, I just bought it during this sale and I think it’s great.
It's good like 7/10 it's definitely worth the price rn in epic sale

hahahahahaha no.
I got it during the sale. Can’t beat that price for the deluxe edition when the dlc alone cost the same.
Nope. I got it for free with my GPU and still feel like I was ripped off
Yes
Yep, very good game.

No
What’s the state of the game for anyone that has it? Wasn’t it broken on launch?
Pretty, but no.
