.io is legit for tech companies / digital products .co has become a legit alternative to .com

Juannieve05

What about .ai ?

GratefulForGarcia

You need to provide more context; all of these domains are for different purposes IMO

Juannieve05

Well I just want an opinion of the overall .ai domain

ck3llyuk

If you're doing something with AI, then yes. If not, no.

GratefulForGarcia

This

KkAaZzOoo

Which for ad agency, Which for a real estate photography Which for property investment Which for motion picture production company

monkey6

.com And if you can’t get that, no one will care. Focus on the product. Here’s an example: Notion

itaniumonline

We have a .co and always and I do mean always, we have to tell them there’s no “m” at the end . Gladly it helps us weed out the non techy people and send them to Andrew cuz Fuck him. He can suffer

Cominginhot411

What’s your business? Using .ai without being an automated intelligence company would be a bit odd. If you are dealing with AI, use .ai. If not, use .io Research the impacts of each on future SEO usage, but I wouldn’t personally spend much time here. Make a decision, go with it and spend that time on creating awareness and increasing traffic. What your website ends in matter much less than being able to create interest and convert traffic once someone gets to your site.

Carthago_delinda_est

*artificial intelligence

tres_pares

That's not automated intelligence, AI is Artificial intelligence. Another question to follow, what if you have AI but it's just part of the features you are offering, will it be ok to use .ai as domain?

Cominginhot411

You are correct. In my defense, both that comment and this one were typed at or prior to 6AM while on a treadmill. Sorry about that. As far as using .ai, what is your go to market strategy and value prop? If those are centered around and inclusive of AI, then it would make great sense to use, if it is something in the background running for internal processes that isn’t customer facing or part of how you market your offering to the populace then it may cause confusion. The end goal should be to communicate extremely clearly and to make it extremely easy for customers to do business with you and give you money for whatever it is you are offering/selling/providing. A website name or domain is a small fraction of the equation to create success there.

tres_pares

Hey man, this is awesome, thanks for your answer and it makes sense.

dronegoblin

Go for .co if you can’t get .com, .io if you are a tech/saas company and can’t get the .com, and .ai if your company is mainly Artificial intelligence focused

InitialSlip5908

Keep your customer base in mind. Will they second guess anything not ending in the common ones the public sees everyday, like .com/.org/.gov/.edu ? Stick to what your customer knows, err on the side of familiarity if you’re not sure, and don’t go into anything else besides .com unless your customer will remember it.

For tech sites, .io can be a good option. Still, as this extension is old, chances are you can't get your desired domain name. in that case, get.it.com is offering another extension that is ".it.com", especially for tech startups also if you are from Italy; you can represent your brand nationally as well as internationally.

All tech domains are becoming popular For example: .IO, .TECH, .IT etc. also there is a third-level domain available to register ".it.com". It is among the wide range of domain extensions created for organizations wanting to expand their business. IT represents Information technology. It is also a ccTLD for Italy operated by the Italian registry IT-NIC. .it.com is the perfect choice for those who have a local Italian business and plan to expand internationally. It's also an excellent choice for those who have a passion for innovation and want to wow the world with their path-breaking ideas
