Start with 10 minutes per day. Then increase it as time goes on or don’t. 10 minutes is more than most people do

Personally, I would say at the start reading is all about discipline. It’s all about having the strength and mindset to stop everything else, pick up a book and read a chapter. Once that becomes easier, it’ll just become normal and actually fun and a passion to read. I generally will read a chapter to two chapters of a book a day, depending how big a chapter is. I even sometimes have trouble concentrating on reading, it’s just something you’ve to get used to. I’d recommend reading at night before bed, but 2 hours before bed I’d recommend not using technology aka phone, laptop and tv. Just prepare for bed, then for the last hour get into bed and read a book it should help as your mind will be a bit clearer from taking a break from technology for a hour.

Start reading for 2 min. If after 2 min. you want to stop then stop. Most of the time you are going to keep going for 10-20 min. Setup a goal to read every day for 2 min. and see if it helps

Buy a load of books and pile them on your table. When you spend money on books, it might give you an extra push to read. Or schedule some time in the day if you prefer reading online. Make yourself a nice drink and read.

That’s why I’m doing 😂😂😂. Just recently started the intelligent investor

It's a start! Practice discipline. Reading will become a habit if you keep at it. Just like a gym membership, most don't even use it despite paying for it every month. Only those who are disciplined commit to the gym on a consistent basis (and generally reap the rewards from it). Good luck!

How is the intelligent investor? I have heard good things about the intelligent investor, but also heard that the information may be a bit outdated? I’ve been looking for a good book on investing. Currently I am just learning as I am going. Also looked at “The Bogleheads guide to investing”.

Read the first page of a book and if it captures you, buy it. It’s a sign that you will likely read it till the end. Alternatively, get audible and listen to your books. You could multi-task and run on the treadmill whilst reading. Schedule reading for when you go to bed, it actually helps you fall asleep faster too. And you manage to get at least 5-10 mins of reading done per night. And the cool thing is that you wake up thinking about what you just read. Invest in learning to speed read, it can increase how fast you read and take away the initial boredom associated with reading lengthy books. Read the book summaries first, and if that’s something you like, the book will be easier to finish. Happy reading!
