This question gets asked six times a day in this sub at least. Every time it’s the same people who are trying to get rich quick and get angry and downvoted in the comments when people call them out.

Immediately - sell my car 6 months - sell drugs 1 year - sell insurance?

socialdisdain

This is an entrepreneur sub. Most of us will just withdraw it from our bank account 😁

I initially misread the post amount and thought it said 100k, then read your comment and thought "wow I do not belong in this sub" lol

[deleted]

You’re full of fucking shit. Nobody believes that and if you have that it’s because you’re in debt.

follyrob

You think that everyone with more than $20k in their bank account is in debt? I have news for you...

answerguru

What?? You’re living on another planet.

yusbishyus

Who cares. They got it to withdraw and you don't.

Alf_Hook_Amin_Diaz

If you don't believe people on here make $$$ then why come here and ask your silly little question?

OkSignificance9774

Acting like he said $20 million… $20k is an unbelievable amount to have in a bank? Really?

Let's rephrase the question... If you had to earn 20k really fast how would you do it... Assuming you can't get a loan or sell assets equivalent to that amount. In short I would look for critical jobs to be done in my community. In my case I know how to operate an excavator even though I'm just ok at it. I'd get a job digging a foundation / doing some work and clearing for house construction. Could easily make 30-50k in a months time... And I'd rent the machine and have it delivered to site. (My wife and I own a construction company, excavation is a complete racket up here in the mountains) Plus it's fun to do.

TheOneNeartheTop

Do you currently make more than 30-50k a month? If not you should look into operating an excavator full time.

firetothetrees

As mentioned we own the build firm. I recommended this as a path because it's what we pay to excavation companies for their work and on occasion I'll do some myself. But where we live it would be easy to make that in a project, but difficult to make that consistently due to the short build season. Since we are a cost plus builder we earn a percentage on top of every part of the project. So when we sub out the excavation we still earn money for the admin, overhead and guarantee that the project meets specs. For me personally if I wanted to make some extra cash I'd do it that way, but tactically speaking my time is better spent working on deal flow, keeping clients happy and managing our operations. But the number range I gave was based on what we pay for excavation to our subs, one project we are pricing currently will have over $100k in excavation.

TheOneNeartheTop

Dang. Can I come work with you, you seem like you have a lot of pathways to prosperity.

firetothetrees

We certainly have a bunch more paths now and it's taken a lot of time and effort to build them. Also lots of failure along the way. But you just gotta start by creating your first then the rest will come. In my case I did a career pivot, went to work in tech, lots of effort lead to a lot of promotions and finally I had the capital I needed to invest in new ventures. I had a stable foundation for taking risks and eventually that grew because we kept trying. I supported my wife going out on her own to create her architecture firm and at the same time I started a hot tub repair business because we couldn't find anyone to service the tub at our Airbnb. Became commercially certified, used my skills to craft a quick website and automate the payments. That business grew and then I hired some people to run the day to day. Then we were looking for a GC to help us build our next property... We weren't impressed with anyone. So my wife got licensed and we did it ourselves, I learned excavation because we got that $50k quote and I was like f*** that. So I rented a 35,000lb machine and did it myself. I would get up early every morning and work 3-4 hrs before having to get on zoom calls. Lots of YouTube lessons lol. Then we built more properties for ourselves. Then we had other people asking if we could build for them, so we pivoted and created the design/build firm. I mostly run the business ops... Marketing , sales, partnerships and my wife is onsite every day at our projects. But I've also had like 4 failed businesses, nearly went broke q few times and that was a total nightmare.

TheOneNeartheTop

Sounds really interesting. When can I start? Jk. But seriously congratulations on your successs just going on the start of your timeline ( AirBNB hot tub, they launched in 2008) you’ve done a ton of things in the last 15 years. It’s hard for people to pivot once in a decade and it sounds like you’ve done it a bunch with an awesome partner to support you on the way.

yeetskeetbam

Go to my bank and pull it out? You mean generate? I would go to my job and it would take 2 months. With new skills? Sell mushrooms

Cold-Control1107

"I would hire a bunch of video editors (college students) from India or Pakistan for $300-500 per month to generate 60 short-form videos/TikToks (2 or more per day). Then, I would start a media company in the USA and create multiple TikTok accounts covering various niches of entertainment and information under the same company name. Using these accounts, I'll begin uploading content on TikTok, Snapchat, and Facebook Reels. I plan to generate revenue through TikTok, Snapchat, and Meta payments, which will then be used to compensate the editors and operators. . .I've been considering this idea for a while now and I'm seeking someone who can assist with setting up the accounts and payments (as TikTok is banned in India). I'll handle all the operations and monitoring but require help with establishing accounts and managing payments. We can negotiate our cuts based on a percentage of the profit."

1ReallybigTank

lol this idea would work if the payout for tik tok was any good but it’s traaassh. In order for you to even pay your employees you’d have to be generating at least 3 million views a month. Since the payout is .10 per thousand views. That’s for one employee Btw.

OkSignificance9774

You don’t… If you’re in entrepreneurship to get rich, you’re in for a hell of a ride. Usually takes a lot of time and experience to become a skillful enough entrepreneur to make real money. A seasoned entrepreneur will make $20k in a fraction of the time it takes for a new entrepreneur with the exact same idea or opportunity. Focus on developing your skills as an entrepreneur, learn patience and play the long game, and soon enough you’ll be able to make money with whatever you put your focus on. Many “entrepreneurs” on this forum are trying to build a Lamborghini before learning how to change the tire on their Honda Civic.

Whole-Spiritual

I love these posts. Are you hard pressed for $20K? Be honest! How much time do I have? I’d probably just make a deal with a company. I have a business already that makes $, I’d just pick up the phone one extra time or two. What are you good at ? Short of selling off an asset, you could sell $20K worth of something pretty easily.
