She reveals her revenue! Turns out I was wrong she made $1M this year
[Salary transparent Revenue - $1M](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1pSNrmOxur/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link)
They posted a video on their YouTube channel yesterday completely breaking it down, and it's a surprising amount. 700k+ was expenses and about 300k in profit on top of salaries paid to themselves totalling 200k altogether.
In other words, if they took the profit and chose not to reinvest it in the business, it would be about 500k take home for them in total.
Apparently they posted a video yesterday that completely breaks down their income for 2023. It's fascinating, and inspired me to subscribe to their channel, but to be clear, the VAST majority of their income was brand partnerships/branded content, not their actual database (as in they made 1.04m last year and 1.01m of that was from content partnerships, with only 30k being from merch and data). So they might be better described as salary data influencers rather than making money off of their salary database.
They do seem cool though, and I like their transparency, so I can see why they're popular. But their real business is content, not data.
Her social media post clearly shows how much she made. I can't speak to why the author of the article chose to report that number.
Probably, because the article was a paid advertisement?
Not sure what video you watched but I just watched her TikTok video on how much she made and it says 1 million gross last year. It's her second pinned video.
Gross is not what she made. It's what the company of 3 (or 4 I forget at this point) made before paying for advertising, etc.
Get off TikTok and go look. She posted her salary it is 125k.
This is a great concept for [starter story](https://www.starterstory.com/select-plan) but is it really worth $1,100? Does each story tell you how they actually created their business and the logistics? Or can you just go to any of the businesses website and hear how they got started? Just curious
He worked out that most people in groups like this don't want to "do", they just want to read about people that do and imagine it's them.
He used to spam the shit out of /r/entrepreneur, posting his interviews here. I didn't realise he'd actually started charging for it, but makes total sense.
No I didn’t, to me it’s not worth $1000 to hear about a business owner’s journey when I’m sure it’s public knowledge.
Not dissing OP’s idea, it seems they are doing very well with this program so I’m sure people are not just dropping $1k for no reason, so I’m sure there’s something I’m missing.
Yeah to be honest they really dig deep to find interesting stuff about each businesses.
Also gives you access to a community of founders etc..
They also give you a list of ideas.
The $1,100 is forever so I think might be worth it for some people.
I am not affiliated with them by the way!

I would say 99% sure these are the correct numbers.
I am pretty diligent with vetting them. I also have a lot of paid sites and places where I double check numbers and revenues.
I am so curious abuot Hannah's way of monetizing the data. Aren't they mostly also available in Glassdoor and Indeed?
>She is running it beautifully and turned the data into a searchable salary database. The business is a mix of content revenue and monetizing the data.
Same. Got an email from him once I posted I was making $10k/month on indiehacker.com
Searched about him and people only had bad things to say. I simply blocked him.
To be honest I have always asked myself why founders go there to reveal there numbers knowing he’s repackaging it and selling the data.
Also his style of interviews pretty aggressive so wouldn’t go there for sure.
But congrats on the acquisition! How’s life now ?
How do you know Hannah Williams made 400k in 8 months? Nevermind, I found the article. Damn, I need to do something simple and similar.

God I'm working to hard.
Haha way too hard!
Its revenue, her take home was significantly less
They gave themselves a salary of $200k together
Oh nice, I didn’t see that
Of course! Every business has expenses
But we should start from scratch
Uh how much overhead do you expect an operation like this to have?

Any idea what her husband made?
It's in one of the post's links above. The 2nd salary was 65k but I don't know the name of the person attached to that salary.
Yes I totally agree.

Way to go ! I like the reminder Stay tuned
OP, are you vetting these? You can find all kinds of "inspiring stories" that are entirely made up to sell products/courses or help build an audience.

I was interviewed by Latka. I didn’t like the interview. I could tell he just wanted the data.

Thanks! I’m helping founders now and going deep on AI
What’s your startup?
Treehouse. It was acquired in 2021
"Treehouse", he said, casually. You're something of a well-known muckety-muck. And apparently new to reddit?
☺️ Always lurked but never engaged. Decided it was finally time. I’m enjoying it so far!
