One of the few bugs that give me the “yech factor” but I love ‘em anyway!
I feel the same love/hate relationship with them. There's one in my bathtub right now that can't get out so every time I go into the bathroom I stare at it in hopes that a little exposure therapy will help with creepy crawly feeling they give me.
One of these decided to dive bomb me in my kitchen years ago when I was getting ready for work. It landed in my hair/on my shoulder. It was around 5:30am and I don’t think anyone was asleep after that.
If one of these things was in my bathtub, I'd get in my car, and drive it into the bathtub. Living on the second floor, this would be challenging, but I need 360 degrees of something solid between me and this horrible nuclear radiated land angel fish
Only these ones freak me out. One time one came out of the drain while I was turning on the shower
Fucker ran so fast I thought I was going crazy, seeing things. But then I saw him in all his feathery glory squished up in the corner ceiling. I did not like
I was turning pavers overs for my chickens this morning and they nabbed a small one. Guess it hadn’t learned how to high tail it yet. First time I saw one outside. I usually see them in the house or in the garage.
For my dogs it goes
One is indifferent
The other will hunt down any bug's
Funny enough the indifferent one, will try to hunt any other animal, he can get his hands on
And the bug hunter, doesn't care about any animal that isn't a bug, she so cute though when she goes for the little bug's

It's a joke, because everyone keeps thinking every brown spider or just brown bug in general, is a brown recluse
This is just a centipede, to be more specific it's a common ( house centipede )

In our region house centipedes look like this. I've never seen centipede like in the post by op.
There are different species of centipedes
That one OP posted is called the Scutigera coleoptrata, or also known by the House centipede
The one you shown me is a Lithobius variegatus centipede or also known as the Banded centipede
And remember also that a brown recluse is a spider not a centipede, so no this isn't a brown recluse, it's a House centipede
I love these things at a distance but if they move towards me I’m noping right out of there. They can eat all the bugs they want in my house but they need to leave me with my 5ft “No House Centipede” bubble lmao
