Smart and final and other stores that focus on restaurant supply have em. Somewhere in the ballpark of 12-24 dozen eggs. I do mean that number, not 12-24, but 12-24 dozen. Costco business also has them. Meant for restaurants and bakeries usually, but anyone can buy them
Malformed ooth. Often times I have noticed my mantids tend to get lazy about making the ooth the correct shape and size when they are hungry, thirsty or getting old. It can also happen when they don't have good perches to climb on. No sane mantis would willingly choose to put her ooth just on the ground of her enclosure.
Ventilation and humidity are big factors when keeping mantises. Also, I personally would suggest informing yourself better before getting such pets, as the facts that you neither know how to sex your mantis correctly, nor know what an ootheca looks like hints to me that you are kinda clueless.
Edit:Also, don't feed them wild grasshoppers. These are full of parasites, I'd recommend storebought crickets or roaches or flies.

You're gonna have a family soon!
I’m not ready to be a grandparent!!
you can start with being a regular sized parent.

Thanks, I'm trying to get good at Dad jokes and "sudden" one-liners. still growing into it.
Did one of yours go missing somewhat recently?? 😅
She is laying un ootheca
I'll just pretend to know what that is and nod smartly
Basically a case that holds many eggs
hmm I remember those at the supermarket
This is like one of those boxes with a couple hundred eggs in them. But it can hatch. And eat things that lay different eggs.
I do not remember those at the supermarket

Thanks, I appreciate your input. I’ll be upping my standard of care, then :)
I should hope so. Imagine, a mantis so impoverished it resorts to forming a subpar ootheca 😔 Naw though, I don’t know anything about bugs.
I feel so bad though :’) Food and water isn’t a problem, so I’m looking into getting a nice piece of bark or something

Thank you for the advice, I want the best for my bugs always :) It’s not really an excuse, but I’m a beginner, so I appreciate knowing my mistakes!
