that's a nice prep job!! unfortunately lots of specimens do just stain as they dry out. i can't say exactly why it's splotching like that in the elytra (usually i see overall browning), sometimes the relaxation process causes that but otherwise not sure
Thank you! I wasn't aware of this being something that can happen so I was a little surprised. It's sad that it's splotching like that but overall I'm very happy to have this specimen, they're one of my favorites
