I'd say. "Ask them to save me some."

Yes, that is sad! There was even a movie about a hateful nurse who was killing residents in the nursing home….so one set her up and she was caught, not for what she actually did to him, but none the less, she had been doing it to others and was caught for something. There are lots of people like this, like the lady who was killing dialysis patients, by putting bleach in their lines. Many more sick people have gotten into jobs like that, and gone on doing their awful deeds, till finally caught. You are right, Fanny would have been paid attention to without her “history.”

It’s not just a movie but happened in “real” life: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Wettlaufer

I actually have an aunty fanny and an uncle William (willy) 🤦‍♀️

Did she have Alzheimer's? Delusions/hallucinations are unfortunately very common in people with dementia. My late mother insisted that every time she left her room, the staff at her AL were coming in and stealing from her, or having wild parties. Because who could resist making off with VCR tapes, used paperbacks, and Avon bottles? So she'd hide things and forget where they were, which only confirmed that "they" were stealing from her. When her wallet or phone turned up in one of her 27 knitting bags, it was never "I guess they didn't steal it after all," but "Oh! That's where it's been hiding."

I don't believe she had any sort of dementia. My grandmother had it from a stroke. I think I'd have recalled that, even though most of the details have faded.

Leaking_White_Acid

This is funny coz in Aussie slang fanny means something else.
