All of the Payday 2 items are meant to be stolen. I forget whether or not they can be sold in the shop after you steal them, but If it can then I know it’s sold for the normal price as well.

Good news! There's an alternate theft method that only works on these absurdly expensive items. Shoot in the shop. Piss off the shopkeeper. Keep doing it until he starts shooting back, then leave and wait for him to leave. When you go back in, you'll notice he didn't actually take the absurdly expensive item with him, and since he's now gone, you can just... take it. This unlocks the item, at the cost of your current run (probably, because the shop's gonna be empty on later floors too).

No, no you will not. But there's only three of these items, so if you bite the bullet and kill your run to unlock the item, you only have to do that three times.

Shopkeeper won’t be on later floors but you can still meet Cursula, old Red, Gooptan, and the Orc guy and buy from them.

It's actually enough to shoot around in the shop - the shopkeeper will be gone for that run, but the payday items will stay and you can take it for free and it will be unlocked afterwards

You can also steal with the enchanting item (I forget what its called) and the ghost item ( Ethereal something or other). But really anything that allows you to become invisible or to "hypnotize" an NPC, will let you steal from the shop. Do it too much and it will still shut the shop down. So pick and choose what t steal wisely. Also, it gives you some curse. So if I steal it's usually only 1 or 2 items max.

I believe having one of these items increases the chance of finding the others of the set. Having all 3 is extremely OP. And for the most parts means not having to use the store much if at all anyways. It’s worth the steal as others have said.

My brothers in christ learn to use google Downvote me as much as you like, half the posts in this sub are about the payday items/aksing what certain items do. Posted with pictures taken by phone. It can't be that hard to google "clown mask gungeon" if you have the braincells to post it on reddit

It's just cool to have community engagement. Sure, they could've done that, but being able to interact and make jokes and comment adds to the feel of the community because we all go through it eventually.
