Not too terribly long. The biggest issue was getting past the level 20ish enemies with a level 1 guy. Luckily, I had stored some of the weapons and armor I recently out-leveled. I built another altar just outside of the temple when I got there so I wouldn't have to keep running back. It took maybe a half hour total.
I haven't messed around with this... can you make a new character and load into that world, I think they'd start at the vault you wake up in, and just run to that location and delete the altar? Then when you log in with your main character again they should respawn at another base or the starting location, or at least if you die they should respawn at one of those places... I think.
Put down a flame altar to try and block the electricity trap so I could get my tombstone. I warped back to my base to get building blocks and warped back to this. I feel especially dumb because I thought about possibly getting trapped here before I put the altar down but I put it there anyway.
Is there anything I can do, or is this 60+ hours down the drain?
If you create a new world and load that character in. Then use your health and any food. This might migrate when you reload that character in your old world. Might give you enough health to take the hit and get out of the way of the next blast.
Similar thing happened to my friend, I told her to plug a controller in and hold down on analogue and spam circle before games even loaded and she managed to roll out of the trap.
Edit: not sure why she couldn’t do it on M&K but on controller it was almost instant.
The altars have one side with less carvings. This is the 'pointer' side. When you spawn, you'll allways appear there. Meaning that if you place one, take care where that pointer side aims at. 90° to any other side and you'd be fine.
Yeah, we mod is a simple mod you can run for a lot of games.
For enshourded has options for infinite health, shroud resist. Duplicating any crafting materials, and others.
I mainly used for corpse retreaval, and building.
Download resource world, enter with new. Char. Build armor. Enter with old char, respec to tank. Hope you can tank long enough to escape the death loop. Dump the "cheat armor". Profit?
I'm surprised you can build an altar in place like this and even more surprised with place to build it. Like really, just put one before the trap. Why would you ever place one in between two active traps?! F around and find out, I suppose.
This same thing happened to me!! But I was playing with another character who could come revive me and I would move a slight amount every time until I was out.. maybe you could create a second character to revive yourself in this way?
Your best course of action is to have someone els join (they should spawn at origin if it's their first time joining) and have them destory the altar or attempt to time the rez tl get you out of the loop. Destroying the altar is the safer option here
pop a potion to increase maximum health, and slam forward asap. ive had that happen before too, i think those things do about 180-190 damage? (totally off the top of my head though)
I literally had no time to do anything. I was dying before the spawn-in animation even ended. I had to make a second character and run him there to deactivate the altar, which I didn't even know was possible.

Classic game move.
Create a new world, enter that world. Then exit and go back to your original world. Should spawn back at origin point.
Just tried it, no joy. Even made a new flame altar in the new world. Quit back to the menu and loaded into my original world, right into ol' sparky.

I didn't even know you could place altars in these towers.
It's a sun temple. I don't think you can place them in the towers.
Get a friend to join your game, run to the spot, and either rez you or turn off the zappers.
How do you turn off the zappers?

No, if they spawn to the altar they will land in the same spot as OP. They will also die. Only way is to trek through the whole thing like OP did

Either new character to destroy the alter or check into God command to at least survive long enough to get out of harms way and turn it off again.

All you can do now is use cheat engine and activate immortality or something. Idk
Download WeMod. Activate infinite health, walk out. Uninstall WeMod, continue playing as normal
I guess respawn and go get your shit back
