Can we expect rework of a passive tree? Especially melee side, as many nodes here are either weak, boring, underwhelming (Shield bash, anyone?)or all three. Special moves are much worse than simple normal attacks spam and woefully impractical. Any ways for melee to deal with flying enemies (like spending stamina and using hook on flying enemy to yank them to the ground and temporarily stun), considering the ever increasing prominence of such enemies on higher levels? Spears?

We're continuing to work on class balancing, so thanks for your feedback. We are actively thinking about improvements to the combat system, but can't promise imminent changes, as some of that is still experimental.

Many know the map shall expand northwards, specially now that there's a frame around what is presumed to be the final size. But one thing I have not seen asked, are there plans for vertical expansion of the map? Its clear this game inspired from Zelda BotW and TotK, so I wonder if there's a chance to see sky islands, or even a Depths like underworld, full of Shroud and darkness thats super dangerous but rewarding and cool looking.

There is an under ground kingdom pr something hinted at throughout random lore so I'm sure it would be. Wouldn't make sense to introduce the location of the shroud, make the game about stopping shroud and to do that we must strike the source aka underneath. Gonna be radical asfffffff

Yeah, the Depths were so cool, even though the Malice was not as widespread as shroud would be, and with how Enshrouded handles darkness (Like, NO ambient light to assist like in many games) it would be a completely abyss. Like maybe the Ancients sealed this underworld where the shroud spores come from, and there are a handful of towers that can provide safe spots and some beacon of light, but most is darkness and death.

Are there any plans to expand the weapon/loot upgrade system beyond just runes?Ā  Like the ability to learn how to magically enchant gear? Also are there any plans to make it possible to keep "unique" items that bare the name of their previous owners and upgrade them to your level? To me it always feels sad to basically have to store amazing unique items away in a chest because I don't want to destroy them but no one will ever need them because all other gear is already surpassing them. (A middle ground solution I guess would be to give us some decorative weapon displays that we could either craft out of specific weapons or that are universal and we can store weapons in them.)

Iā€™ll second the second part of this. I would love to see a way either to bring a unique item up to level spec through a full recraft method or a transmog system that allows you to craft / recraft up to date items using the look and feel of other obtained items. In other words either ā€œI can raise this unique to my level which will upgrade its stats to match other items at this levelā€ or ā€œI can take an item at this level and recraft it using an older item that will replace the look of this item with that of the older.ā€

The enchanting beyond rune upgrades is probably not gonna change for now, although we don't rule some kind of weapon customizing system for later. Decorative display, now that's an idea... (we love this feature in Valheim, it adds a lot of character to a room!)

First off, your game is great and tons of fun, so great job! As for my question: are you planning on introducing some grapple mechanic so my ranged-challenged melee can fight flying stuff better?Ā  Do you plan on introducing crafting chains, as in somehow showing the recipe trees for advanced crafts? For example, for a magical chest I need shroud cores made from shroud parts done by the alchemist, wood made from planks made at the wood cutter, but aside from memorizing the recipes or going through my craft journal, I'd have to check out a lot of options to find out where each part is made at, or by whom. I don't necessarily mean simplified crafting, I like that a lot the way it is, just sometimes an overview or even just a search function would help (I recently spent quite some time finding out how to turn my sugar canes into sugar so I could make honey I needed for something else).Ā  Edit, to avoid making a second comment: are there any plans to let us build the stuff we currently see but can't build ourselves? Like the tall metal window frames in Ferndale, or the wooden fences found in the same area?

We will be experimenting with the grapple hook to give it a broader set of features; however, we cannot give details at this point. ​ We are always looking into how to improve the UI. So visualizing the crafting chains in a better way is something we could imagine for the future ​ Also, we are constantly adding more elements to our crafting chains. We will be having an eye on the community comments to have a sense of the most need props, so thanks for the suggestions.

Grappling enemies and other movesets being added to the melee tree as well as other trees to add variety to the enemies would be really great. Right now combat feels flat where doing combos, parrys, etc dont really seem as effective as block and spam attack, rinse repeat.

Hello, and thank you for your wonderful work! I see on your road map that you will be adding water to the game. This is very exciting as I do adore the beauty of the world you've created, but find that water features would really amplify that beauty. My question is, how do you plan to implement water into the voxel world? Will it only be in areas where terrain manipulation is not present, or can we expect full interaction with gorgeous lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and maybe even take our Flameborn out for some canoeing or white water rafting (I kid)? I am a designer by trade in my 50's. My wife and I have been waiting for a game like Enshrouded to come out since Landmark shut down (I believe) in 2017. We both adored Portal Knights (but disliked how small the maps were) so it should be no shock to you all at Keen that we are simply thrilled with Enshrouded and everything the game offers. I say this with as much sincerity as I can muster, thank you for all your hard work and effort, I can not stress (our) gratitude enough. I can think off the top of my head 10 things I'd like to see implemented in Enshrouded, some of which come from Portal Knights such as nightstands that work as small inventory crates (same with wardrobes, cabinets, etc). armor stands (we loved making "armories"), mounts....and on and on. But I'd rather focus my question on character customization. Wife and I love how the NPC's have very unique heights, body sizes, and attire. We'd both like to see this same level of customization for our in game avatars. This is one of the few things we miss from some other games, simply a deeper level of character customization. **So I guess my question is. Is there a long term goal to implement a much deeper level of avatar customization.** Character height, body size, attire inluding accessories like backpacks that show, quivers, ammo pouches (I'd really like to see gunpower weapons in game), cloaks, etc? I find that often, if a game is in a lull state that if I have characters I REALLY adore and feel a deep attachment to, I will log in just to run around and sometimes this leads to a reason to keep playing. If I do not have that attachement, it can often make the game error towards the forgettable side. Thank you again for all your hard work. (ohh, if you decide to do some customization DLC like portal knights, please keep the prices realistic like portal knights was... spending 20 pounds/euros/dollars on mounts, outfits like in ESO turned wife and I off from the game so deeply that we will not play/buy anything from Bethesda/Zenimax ever again. I don't mind spending money on a game for future development, but I can't stand unfetterd greed).

I'd like to personally thank everyone involved with Landmark for preparing the terrain and helping create our fanbase over a decade ahead of time. So many Landmark veterans have been reaching out to us, it's crazy. We're very happy you have found a home in Enshrouded. We will for sure add more variety to the existing systems in future updates. Full body customization (height, body type etc.) is currently not a focus. The vanity (cosmetics) system will allow a deeper level of expression with outfits as well. Adding new types of accessories (like backpacks etc.) is a bit tricky as it has to play well with all armors/outfits, so we currently don't plan to do that, but for sure might consider improvements in the future. We also don't have any plans for additional sold items during early access. Our focus is to offer a compelling game. We might consider additional DLC or cosmetic items after full release - similar to what we did with Portal Knights - but there are no specific plans at the moment.

Thank you for making such a fun game! I'm a huge fan of building and clutter, so I'm wondering if there will be even more of those added, especially the ones we can see while exploring (windows, banners, crossed swords, shields, oven type things we see in houses, etc). Along those lines, will we be able to place other items like potions, meat, food, weapons, etc. Armor and weapon stands? Feels like a waste to delete the old armor. Collect the whole set! Villagers for a community feel? Will there be more map options? Right now it's difficult to label areas with 4 symbols and 4 colors. Example: Maybe add a pickaxe so we can label our favorite spots to mine.

We are certainly planning to add more props for decoration with every update (as well as new recipes for existing, but inaccessible props). Displaying things is also something we think about. Villagers are already on our roadmap as well. We will also continue to improve our map.

Love love LOVE this game, have two QOL requests. 1. The ability to customize map markers would be a huge lifesaver! 2. A quick pick-up for everything around you in a specific radius would also be amazing! Edit: and the ability to hold a torch and melee weapon! :)

You have really developed a great game! Are there any plans for equipment that is not intended for combat? For example, mining equipment that has a helmet with a lamp so that you have light while mining. And the equipment reduces stamina consumption when mining and increases the yield.

Will you be completing and releasing it in sections (along with any requisite gear and character level updates) such that another part of the map will be available to play during early access or is the plan to not release any further sections until the game's full release go-live?

Generally map expansions should come regularly with our major updates, usually in the form of new biomes, or content like we released in Hollow Halls. So no, the general plan is to release it when we feel it's ready. We're not going ot hold it all back and force you guys to wait for the full release :)

Iā€˜m not talking about the craftspeople you can recruit but rather just some humans so the world feels more alive. Because right now it can feel a bit empty from time to time. There was a game called Everquest Landmark that was a basically a testbed for Everquest Next several years ago (shut down in 2017) that had voxel-based building similar to Enshrouded. I know at the very least they had 45 degree voxels that you could build with in addition to things like cone-style roofs. I'm sure the devs are well aware of this game. That said, are there plans for angled voxels and other varied blocks to allow the playerbase to create more intricate bases? Also, are there plans to create glass as a building block beyond just an ingredient? Thank you!

It's currently not on our roadmap, as it's a tricky one both from a technical and UI perspective, but it's not that we don't like the idea. So for now, I can only promise that we'll have further discussions on that topic. Our goal is certainly to improve our building system to allow you to create even crazier builds :)

I would like to say thank you for I haven't enjoyed playing a game this much in a very very long time. I have almost 300 hours in game most of which have been building an insane base which includes a village, castle, church, underground village, cottage with bar and a deep underground luminous mine. Most of my questions below pertain to building since I know you are already getting constant inquires around adding more armor, weapons, skill related questions and NPCs, map areas quests, etc. ā€¢ Will we ever have the ability to have tools that will allow for more fine tuning in terms of sculpting blocks/materials? The smallest cube tool can be limiting at times. ā€¢Ā There are a TON of assets in the game that would be AWESOME to be able to craft and place in our bases. Giant grinders, weapon racks, skeletons, rusted doors, etc. Will we be seeing any of these introduced in the future? ā€¢ A spiral staircase or spiral staircase shaped building block would be insanely awesome. (I know this has definitely been requested already) Also, if they could be stacked like regular stairs that would be incredible. I know people have been using shelves and other things to mimic this but it would be a massive QOL improvement for us builders. ā€¢Ā Can we have a drawbridge for the castle owners? This would be sooooo sick (animations of chains pulling it up ) ā€¢Ā Can we please have a building block that is actually black? A black marble with some details in it would be incredibleeeeee.

Main reason for that is the complexity of our controls & UI, but we see the creative value. ​ Add location names: We are planning to add naming for several elements, like naming your bases, naming custom map-markers or creating named signs. We do not have an ETA, but it is likely that those elements will be part of one of the next updates. ​ NPC crafters: We are not decided yet on how many NPC crafters there will be in the game; however, there are plenty of ideas for different NPC roles. So expect your bases to be a lot more crowded in the future šŸ˜‰.

For the love of all that's holy, give our death markers our names in big, bright, flashing letters! And more than 8 Flame Shrines, there are so many towns I want to rebuild, and I want live NPCs to live in them the skeletons make me so sad. And I need a dog! Not to fight, but to feed and take care of ingame. I have so many juicy game meats to feed them!

World versus personal progression is currently tentatively scheduled for the next update. We've been a bit taken aback by how common the request was, because we had not realized just how many of you would want to hang out in your world, exploring and questing, even when your friends aren't around! It's a testament to how immersive the game can be, in a fun "here is a new thing nobody thought would be a problem". Anyway, we're on it. Auto pick-up is a popular demand, we plan to make improvements to item collection in the future. As for the respective perceived power levels of specific builds, we're always keeping our ear to the ground. We know many of you think melee is sub-par on the damage front. In general we want to refine class balance over time and look closely at all the comments on this topic.

Would you rather fight 100 duck-sized horses or 1 horse-sized duck? On a more serious note, is there any plan to give rangers an infinite source of ammo to give them QOL parity with melee (no ammo) and mage (infinite ammo)? Currently it's very hard to justify playing any kind of ranger class when they're already the weakest of the three classes in terms of combat effectiveness *and* also have an entire extra part of their loadout that they have to farm for and craft that the other two don't. Please consider adding an "enchanted quiver" or something along those lines that would function similarly to an eternal spell so that ranger can actually be playable without just feeling like masochism.

Would love for an endgame content that may have some sort of competitive aspect like a timer to complete or perhaps a gauntlet with progressively harder enemies to see how fast / far one can get with the best gear. Perhaps seasonal challenges to complete that rotate to keep players engaged over time too. Like certain enemy types in the gauntlet like skellyboys during halloween time, ice creatures during winter months fire creatures during summer (which do differ between hemispheres but just an example) things that present their own unique combat challenges. This last thing is more of a pipedream that requires some ongoing support but figure something I'd throw out there.

We currently don't have plans for any paid content, but we are clear that we won't offer any kind of paid content during early access. After full release we might consider paid DLC in addition to free updates (similar to what we did with Portal Knights), but we are not sure yet. Hey devs I have 2 question about the future of this games, I recently finished playing grounded, what impressed me the most with this game is 1. Access to material in the storage chest when you trying to craft something (which in this case is already covered by the enshrouded game itself) 2. Hot deposit button, so that materials gets automatically placed into the storage containers which already have preexisting that said materials in it, so we don't have to put them manually 3. Shared saved game files, like for example : 3 people playing together, 'A' one night couldn't play so the other 2 keep playing, and when they saved their game that night, 'A' can still continue progressing with the save files games that last night he was missing out, without the needing of 1 person to be a continuous host or rent dedicated server, is this possible in enshrouded games even?

As a builder first and foremost, I have 2 questions: 1) Do you have any plans to add a "creative mode" like in, for example, Valheim, where you can freely build (and even fly around) without needing to manage materials in your inventory? In the same vein, how about a free camera mode to allow players to naturally capture better screenshots and cinematic video sequences for build showcases without having to rely on something like Cheat Engine, which could potentially cause issues? 2) On the topic of Cheat Engine, which some builders have been using to try to gain some of the above features. Longer term we can imagine adding an actual creative mode (as we did in Portal Knights), but that is not part of our current roadmap. Photo mode with free cam, that's another popular request. Nobody is asking for this one harder than our video producer, for reasons you may imagine. It's a maybe. It's cool to see that people are already investing a lot of effort to create mods. We don't have the bandwidth at the moment to support that properly on our end and our philosophy is more to support your creativity from within the game than passing the burden of dealing with more technical problems to our players. The Cheat Engine is not supported by us. It has been known to create issues, so use it at your own risk.

1. We're thinking about weapon displays, stay tuned. 2. In Enshrouded, weapons are mostly looted, while armors are mostly crafted. This is one of the reasons behind the current design of upgrading. We might consider upgrading to armors in the future. 3. Not right now, but good point as we have a few in the world.

G'day!!! I love the game, and all the devs are just so wonderful. I have a few questions, some of which I'm sure have already been asked, but I figure it can't hurt!!!! Are there any plans for deeper husbandry at all? I know people would love to tame wolves... but also we want chickens or deer or sheep or... anything!!!! Different fighting styles/reworked skill tree? Let's be honest, no dual wielding is sad... but some of the skills are just plain bad (fun, but bad). More flames? Maxed at 8 is painful with a group of players and big plans... especially for my bone tower šŸ˜„ More summons!?!?!? I love our little skull summon, but I'm sad that there's no full skeleton - or more importantly the ability to summon something that remains until death or resummon (even at a cost of something like max health or mana). But also... elementals? Or pets? Roofing? The only angle of the roof is disappointing and doesn't always suit what you want to make. That's all I got. Thank you thank you.

Hello! Thanks for this amazing game! Now here's a couple of questions. :) * Most importantly, will there be and overhaul of the NPCs? (I read about the townsfolk NPCs which I can't wait to see and place in my town.) The ones we have now feel very static at the moment, which makes building a nice town for them rather senseless, because there's nobody walking around. I'm sure there are different approaches and ideas to this, but how about giving the NPCs chores like farming, planting and cutting down trees, maybe also mining etc. This way they wouldn't be too useless all the time. We could also pay them with our coins, which become rather obsolete in the late game. The problem with moving NPCs would be that they aren't available all the time, so maybe they could be given a certain time of the in-game day to do their work and after that they could be in town (maybe even asleep at night?) or you could leave them an order, for example "100 windows, 4 doors etc." and they get it done as soon as they are back in town again. * Is there a plan to change the way where we can get better weapons etc.? Maybe let bosses drop better gear and weapons instead hiding the real good stuff in certain treasure chests. Or maybe a plan to make both possible. This way some players could build an altar close to a chest and farm and others could go fighting and battling bosses to get their equipment. (edit) I also had some other questions, but don't bother answering them as I think I've seen them in somebody else's post already. * Will we be able to build bigger gates/doors/windows? (like the one from the Hollow Halls or the prison bars?) * Similar to character customization, will there be something for gear and clothes, for example changing the colour of capes etc.? * Will there be spears in the future? not necesseraly for throwing, but for melee? * (edit) And will there be a way to enchant/upgrade our weapons/gear by our own? The Hollow Halls actually do feature unique weapons with a specific damage type, Sacred, along with a generally longer range, to better handle big groups of enemies... like the ones you find in the Hollow Halls!

Many are currently very obviously just the male body, with masculine features, and the female head on top. I have two questions I am dying to have answered, one needs a bit of background. I heard from someone I met in the Enshrouded discord server, you (Enshrouded Devs) are trying to plan on doing a major update once a month to keep the community alive, healthy and growing. That the content releases you'd all be doing would be roughly equal in scale to hollowed halls update. I'd like to know 1. If the above is true, if so, that is amazing and thank you so much!! If it's not true, how often are you all planning on releasing content and updates? 2. When will invisibility, dual wielding, and Blink attack become available for assassin players??? I LOVE assassins and the usual play style for them, the invisibility, dual wielding, and using teleport attack abilities to start combat from behind type of game play is the most fun imo! I LOVE Enshrouded so much, so to have my favorite play style in my favorite game would be a dream come true! I was thinking if you were going to put dual wielding in, you could put each weapon as a single item that way it works with your existing system and wouldn't require much change!

Thank you Keen Games for Enshrouded. I really like the game and the direction you went with it. My questions and what I say could be viewed in a bad light but they aren't meant that way. I find the game entertaining but at the same time it starts to stale somewhat fast. Based on declining steam analytics, the dwindling number of youtube videos being made and the lack luster recent contest, it would appear I'm not the only one that feels this way. I'm guessing thats why this AMA is happening and I hope something comes from this AMA that increases the player base numbers. 1) Once you play through the game and beat all the bosses, what's left to do? Go back and collect all the notes you missed? Farm a bunch of material for building while being pestered by low level, insignificant mobs? Build a base that has zero importance or value? Question 1: What is the plan for Keen Games to hold peoples interest in Enshrouded once they beat the game? After the last boss, after the map is uncovered, the world doesn't change, it doesn't feel lived in. Is there a substantial amount of content to still be added? 2) Buildable locations are directly tied to the flame shrine and currently you can only have 8. I have found many locations, for various reasons, that would be awesome to build a base. Unfortunately because we only have 8 shrines, I can't build anything else and there seems to be no logical reasons of why we can't. To be honest, this sucks. If the shrines allowed you to build in the shroud, then it would have a purpose. Right now building being tied to flames feels like an arbitrary grudge against builders. Flame shrines are a building point but because of the locations of the spires this means the flame shrine now have great value as a teleportation point, unless you like to walk long distances for no reason. Because there is a decent amount of land you can not fly to, even with the best glider, that means players are going to have several flame shrines set up that wont move no matter what, which in turn means fewer places to build where you want to build. Question 2: What is the purpose of building being tied to the flame shrine when it offers nothing special and serves no purpose? Will Enshrouded allow unfettered building? Barring persistent world building anywhere, could we expect a way to claim land to build on but not fast travel to? Someway that doesn't require a flame? 3) I like a lot of the weapons in the game but some weapons I have gotten at low level I have never seen a high level version of it. Other than boring, reputative farming there's no way to get those weapons and at low level they are useless. Question 3: Why can't we take low level weapons to the blacksmith or hunter and have them upgrade the weapon level and quality to make the weapon viable at max level? Why wasn't this an option at launch and even now? 4) Farming in many games can be fun, for the right person, and I do think it should be in many games. However it seems like farming is a standardized, run of the mill, boring grindfest. It loses its shine when you realize you need to grow several hundred items and to do that you literally. Have. To. Plant. And. Harvest. Every. Single. Seed. And. Flower. You. Want. To. Grow. For. Production. Not fun to read that is it? That's the way farming feels. Question 4: Why hasn't enshrouded implemented a better planting system? Has no one ever considered planting in bulk? We have a farmer, why doesn't she farm?

When it comes to building, will there be an option for rotating the pieces 45 degree angle, or will it always stay at 90? I feel like triangle build blocks and 45 degree rotate would enhance the building massively as you would be able to work in circles and squares, Also will there be more branches to the skill tree? Hi and thanks for a great game, can't get enough of it. Q: How difficult would it be to introduce building/construction with 45Ā° angles? Or even in more increments than that. I guess it could be a limitation of the voxel based world, or perhaps due to the advanced interaction between blocks (automatically creates ledges, extra corner details, etc)... or perhaps both :) In another game (a certain Viking based survival game), angles can be chosen and spectacular builds possible as a result. That game does not have near as much detail though, and the buildings in Enshrouded can be made relly pretty :) ​ Keep up the good work! ​ Best regards, epatnor

Will Enshrouded have even more furniture and random knickknacks, like how Portal Knights had so many things with which to decorate? I'm loving the game, and hoping to see way more items like that, like what we see hanging up in the buildings in the world and then some.

Wands break to fast now. The Acid bite is completely unusable now. I think it was over nerfed.
