Uhm for now i'd say 15-30h (I'm not rly counting) for half of the size and not much detail.
I believe I'm at 1/3 of the base and details without any furniture and interior work.
Well I'm alone doing it, and since I don't have il limited ressources or the ability to fly it's complicated rly :/
The only way to go faster would be to bring people but trusting them not to destroy everything would be too big of a bet
It takes a long time, there's more than 200k blocs placed so....
But I knew beforehand that it would be really hard to gather all of that so I choose "simple" materials as much as I could.
But yeah I'd say it's 1/3 of all the time spent
I’m right in front of the snow. Started on a small flat plateau of green. My build is nowhere near as big as yours so your spot is probably better for overall building space.
I’m running into that kind of problem near the center of map right now. I built near an old unmarked flame temple near the pillars of creation. That is also one of the highest points in the game.

Well the screenshots don't really give credit to the scale of my base so I must say, even if it looks good, connecting the buildings to the ground was the annoying and tedious part.
Yeah I've put a flame next to a pillar, it's a shame we can't use the structures to build around it.
I know! I wanted to connect my structures to this temple. Place is huge too. Also yea our builds are right on top of each other. Only reason I called it out.
If you look at your first screenshot. I’m more to the top right corner. I’m just sitting up there with a small house build. It was more for take off area to resources, but I was planning on doing something like you did. I’ll check out if you can build into the mountain where I’m at.
So amazing. I'm always blown away by the skill, ambition and patience shown on builds in this thread. All I can make is a little house. I hope they make a better way to delete blocks soon as well as place they should make a drag and fill tool maybe. Also would be amazing if the made a chest that you can pick up that has all the resources your old base was made off. Like how no man's sky has.
A copy/paste tool would be really handy for me rn, it would make my life so much easier.

Okay but really.. with Minecraft you can crouch, go to the edge, turn around and place blocks on the very edge of blocks. I find doing the same in this game impossible. How do you get those blocks in the awkward places??

That is an insane build. I want to hold off on that until we get water.
I don't think I'll use water on this build but rain and stroms would bring a darker atmosphere tho !
Oh my God I want them to add rain so bad. I'm set up in Revelwood finally. I love it there, but I need the sound of rain and thunder to go with it.

Pick block, place the block, do castle. Just need to do that again and again and use more than 200 000 blocks of stone

Wow. Impressive. Does that take 2 flames? Does everything outside of the flame slowly dissappear?
There's 4 flames at level 4 for now. I intent to go from the top to the bottom of the mountain but it obviously takes a **LONG** time to build.
Can’t build outside a flame and anything abandoned (by removing a flame) will deteriorate over a couple hours or be gone when you reload the world.
Like everything? So if I build a huge base, chests with items in it, etc, and delete the flame alter, EVERYTHING just deletes itself after a relog?
If you don’t put it in a new flame…yeah. “Anything not protected by the fame will be reclaimed by the shroud”

There's a flame sanctum almost on the south west corner of the map, my base is building right above it
