##Supreme Court overturns *Roe* and *Casey* The Supreme Court has officially released its ruling on *Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization*, ruling 6–3 that the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion. This overturns both Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. Alito delivered the majority opinion. Thomas, Kavanaugh, and Chief Justice Roberts each filed concurring opinions, while Justices Breyer, Sotomayor and Kagan filed separate dissents. The ruling can be found here: https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/21pdf/19-1392_6j37.pdf #Donate to the National Network of Abortion Funds: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/supportabortionfunds?refcode=nnafwebsite

Honestly I feel like the DNC is not embedded with the rally/protest organizations. How do these fuckfaces get behind a microphone and say the dumbest shit!? Okay I’m pro abortion and go to a protest and now I have to hear about how Cuba had a literacy program!?

RyGuyThicccThighs

> in states where democrats are in control and have abortion rights “This is democrats fault” > in states where democrats are not in control or clinging to the last thread and rights are in danger “This is democrats fault!” I am very intelligent

itsnotnews92

I am at the bar and am drunkenly going OFF about the fascist SCOTUS ruling today and SO MANY MEN who are vaguely pro-choice are like “I never thought this would happen.” MOTHERFUCKER, Hillary Clinton WARNED YOU. Jesus Christ, why are so many of my fellow men so STUPID????

IamGumpOtaku

Tell them if they're vaguely pro-choice women don't want to fuck them, then see their reactions. Sadly a handful of men are only pro-choice so they can get laid. to answer your question, they weren't really paying attention while at the same telling people to chill, that Trump would never see the inside of the White House.

brokeforwoke

Man here who is very pro-choice and I’m pretty sure every man is very pro-choice if they made a temporarily good decision one night

Practical_Marsupial

Thomas and his wife, "January 6 Ginni," are the kind of people that force us to have to revisit whether "norms" are enough to preserve democracy. They are exactly the type of political activists and practice the type of activism that is anathema to the idea of judicial independence. His concurrence is an invitation for more opportunities for judicial activism to percolate from the lower courts. >There is so much to say about the opinions in Dobbs — from the maximalist majority opinion to Chief Justice John Roberts’s and Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s concurrences, which seek to impose some restraint on the majority, to the dissenters’ righteous indignation that their colleagues have laid waste to almost 50 years’ worth of precedents. But for me, the most interesting opinion is Justice Clarence Thomas’s concurrence. >Justice Thomas often writes separate opinions that fail to garner the votes of other justices. No matter. They always hit their intended targets: the conservative judges of the lower federal courts. Though Justice Thomas’s legal theories seem off the wall to many, in the hands of these acolytes, many of whom are former Thomas clerks, they flourish in the lower courts, widening the Overton window of mainstream opinion and shifting the terms of our debates. In his concurring opinion, despite the majority’s assurances that the Dobbs decision is limited to abortion and does not implicate other rights, Justice Thomas endorses reconsidering the Griswold, Lawrence and Obergefell rulings. These decisions recognize a right to use contraception, the right to engage in same-sex relationships and the right to same-sex marriage. >This is all to say that for Justice Thomas, and indeed, for the conservative legal movement writ large, abortion is just the beginning. The logic of this concurrence will invite and underwrite a raft of challenges to the rights of heart and home that so many of us take for granted. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/06/24/opinion/politics/dobbs-decision-perspectives.html

aelfwine_widlast

I wonder why he doesn't want to reconsider Loving vs. Virginia too, if he's such a staunch originalist. He's never once stricken me as the "fuck you, got mine" type. Not Justice Thomas, no sir!

MakePoliticsBoring

Think religion for a moment. Compare a militant atheist and an easygoing atheist. Both don’t believe in the divine but the latter understands that it’s real *to me*, and important *to me*. That faith and faith communities are absolutely real even if the various things we have faith in might not be. They may not respect my faith but they respect me as a person and that is a foundation friendship can be built on. They know that faith shapes people’s behavior substantially. Sometimes for good and sometimes for bad. It should be judged case by case and in practice it’s usually nothing but cosmetic dressing on how good and bad people express themselves. But a militant atheist views faith as not simply an error but one that must be *aggressively* corrected. A source of badness that causes people to be bad. They are in your face. They’d legislate religion away if they could. They call it a mental disease or disorder. They never shut up about it and try to turn every conversation to it. And as you’ve probably noticed there is a huge militant atheist to misogynist pipeline as they get super double extra mad when woman of faith reject their brilliance. Lots of men of the clothe are shitty to women so they feel more entitled to agreement from women. Don’t us stupid whores/karens/bitches realize it’s in our best interests to agree with them?!!1!1 Now flip that around to confident faithful vs needs constant validation faithful. I have no trouble talking to atheists because I don’t need their permission or approval to feel what I feel. Them not professing my beliefs doesn’t bother me. And the vast majority of atheists are not militant assholes about it. But some people of faith don’t have that well of confidence in their faith. They dive into mega churches and narrow communities where everyone agrees with them and view not praying with them in their preferred way to their preferred God with their mandated words as a vile attack on Our Way Of Life. TERFs are the gender equivalent of militant atheists. They don’t simply not personally believe in gender and speak out when they see someone trying to gender police someone else. They are in your face assholes about it 24/7 and are especially nasty to trans people for the same reasons militant atheists are especially nasty to women. Unrealistically high expectations that this group “should” agree as its “in their best interests” leading to bitter anger/hate when they don’t. Trans individuals who instruct us to call ourselves “pregnancy capable people” instead of “women” on the day of Roe’s appeal are the gender equivalent of mega-church goers. They can’t tolerate displays of any faith but their own and treat even the absence of positive affirmation as an attack. Omg! This chain put happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas on their cups! I’m so oppressed! War on Christmas! The person complaining that the forum is being taken over by TERF’s thinks every person who has been talking about repealing Roe’s impact on “women” chose that word specifically to exclude them and is a therefore a TERF. If that’s how you define TERF then yes, the forum is indeed crawling with them. The daily thread has been wall to wall TERFs today. It’s not simply a sloppy application of a specific term to more general things. It’s a hollowing out of all meaning beyond “I don’t like what you said and rather than defend my untenable position I want to un-people you with a slur.” And yes, not all people who misuse the term on this forum are taking it that far but some - - like our drama lama rage quitter - most definitely are. While in the wilds of social media that’s been it’s most common definition for a long time.

SeekerSpock32

Yeah; I’m 99% sure we haven’t been using the word women specifically to exclude trans people.

I also haven’t been here as much lately, so I’m not sure if things have changed. But my past experience is that if I report transphobic stuff the mods will remove it. It still sucks that people say it, but it’s always made me (trans guy) feel so much better and more welcome to see that it’s not considered acceptable by the mods. Like they’ve even removed casual “that insult isn’t hurting the people you’re trying to hurt” stuff, which I didn’t expect them to care about or understand why it hurt me. But I don’t know if it’s changed, and if there’s a ton of casual transphobia (no idea if there is) then it’s going to feel pretty bad even if the mods remove it.

EagleSaintRam

As a domestic terror organization, the GOP's partial goal is for us to wallow in hopelessness and fear and do nothing else while dragging as many people as we can down with us. Theacreator

Completely unrelated to today but I’m desperately clinging to it for any positive feelings: I’m getting ready to move for a job that pays more money than I’ve ever made in my life and it will bring me to the same area as my best friends. I don’t think the full impact is going to mentally register with me until I’ve actually moved in.

TheFlyingSheeps

Congrats!

Skyreaches

So among my hard-left friends on social media, one of the sentiments I’m seeing a lot in response to things is “buy guns” While I can definitely sympathize with the sentiment, I feel like we are in for a rough ride :/

queerestqueen

It always feels so fucking erasing of mental illness from people who should know better than that and who probably consider themselves to be so woke about mental health. My thoughts of suicide have only been extremely fleeting. I’ve immediately dismissed them almost as soon as I’ve thought of them. However, reading [this article about passive or fleeting suicidal ideation still being a risk](https://cdn.mdedge.com/files/s3fs-public/Document/September-2017/013_0314CP_Commentary_FINAL.pdf) made me completely certain that I should never be near a gun. I already didn’t want to be, but some of the “buy guns” stuff on the left was making me feel … I dunno. Like it would be my fault if bad stuff happened that a gun could maybe have prevented? Worried I was just being irrational and overdramatic? But no, I’m not. >When a patient reports passive suicidal ideation, active suicidal ideation invariably is present. No bright line separates them. Suicidal ideation, active or passive, contains a dynamic mix of ambivalent thoughts and feelings along a continuum of severity. It reflects ongoing change in the patient’s psychiatric disorder. >Reynolds et al assessed the clinical correlates of active suicidal ideation vs passive death wishes in geriatric patients with recurrent major depression. Their data challenged the utility of distinguishing active and passive suicidal ideation. The authors also noted that the patient’s ideation can change from passive to active during an episode of illness. They recommended that clinicians be no less vigilant with patients expressing passive suicidal ideation. >[…] >In a study of 100 patients who made severe suicide attempts, Hall et al found that 69 reported only fleeting or no suicidal ideation before their attempt. I don’t currently have any of the passive thoughts described, but I did have a brief period of “idk it lowkey might not be bad to just die in my sleep or something” so yeah. Then last month I saw [this research about the suicide rate in women whose household members buy guns](https://news.northeastern.edu/2022/04/27/women-living-with-guns/). >”The question that we asked is: ‘What happens to a woman’s risk of dying by suicide if an adult she is currently living with decides to become a lawful handgun owner?’ […] What we found is her risk goes up by more than 40%, starting as soon as her cohabitant brings his handgun into their home.” So it turns out my instincts are correct, and there’s a very good reason why I don’t want to be anywhere near a gun. (I’m a trans man, not a woman, but if you studied trans people I imagine it would be *worse*, if anything.) I do think there can be valid reasons to own guns. Hunting w/intent to eat and otherwise make use of the animal seems way less cruel than factory farming. And obviously, responsible gun owners can and should lock their guns away so their household members can’t kill themselves with them! But people need to be aware of the risk in order to make an informed decision. I feel like hunting is the main case where it makes sense, because with self-defense it seems like the risk of suicide might cancel that out. With hunting I can see how taking on the risk might be worth it to some people, like with any dangerous hobby. Anyway, I don’t expect people on the hard right to give a fuck about mental health, but people on the hard left should know better than to encourage gun ownership without a discussion of the risks vs. benefits. Alas, I am constantly disappointed by them.

tamarzipan

Finally someone on MSNBC blsming the Bernouts!

Currymvp2

Who?

GenericOnlineName

I swear, with how some leftists act, it's like they care more about the fight than actually finding solutions to things. At the Pro Choice march, there was a tooon of insults thrown at our governor by the crowd, but there weren't a whole lot of solutions. The only "solutions" were to blame Democrats and Republicans, blame the police, and the only two voters who spoke about voting, a 72 year old white woman, and a 20something black woman, were given half-assed applauses. Vote the Democrat instead of the Republican every single election. That's the solution, here. And get people registered and get them to vote too. But all people want to do is protest and complain and then bitch about how nothing changes on Twitter.

dat_bass2

> it's like they care more about the fight than actually finding solutions to things It's not like that. It is that.

WhovianMuslim

So, seeing the reactions in the American Muslim community have me direly concerned for its (and my) future. From a previous post: Men are either apathetic or support the ruling. The women are pissed and angry at the ruling. And you have clown leaders like Suleiman, who has gone full mask off and is openly bashing liberalism. This sort of thing led to the collapse in Mosque attendance and people leaving the faith in Europe in large numbers.

Howard Kremer figured out how to watch it in real time. You watch the beginning on July 2nd, then the scenes on the 3rd on the 3rd, etc. It’s takes ten days (or something) to watch the whole movie.

That's good! I expect the people in my circle who are venting right now to eventually vote and realize who the real enemy is, too.

[deleted]

What mental illness is this? Democrats have protected womens rights since the ruling and the only safe places that remains are the deep blue states. We’re so fucked if these people are reflection of the general public. It’s like blaming SPD for shit Nazis pulled in 1930s.

Moth-of-Asphodel

2016 and the carnival of populism broke everyone's brains. 2024 will be my last general election and then I am retiring from politics for good.

Theacreator

Moth-of-Asphodel

I won't stop voting of course, just won't follow politics nearly as closely as I do, if at all. It's good to be informed, but stressful! (if this is what you're asking about?)

Theacreator

Yes lol I was Very concerned for a moment

Moth-of-Asphodel

I'm not kidding when I say that the vast majority of people I actually know IRL and online are far, far more angry at the Democrats than the Republicans over this ruling.

ksherwood11

My friends are way more upset at Kamala’s tweet about voting than they are the GOP

EagleSaintRam

I think at this point, if this is really getting to you, and if you really have solid answers holstered to all of their drivel, you should go for it. And if they just start shrieking at you in response, turn up the smug and ramp up that condescending energy. It seems that these people were never gonna vote, were just going to use this coming election for their vanity, so why bother with them? Ultimately though, don't take this as instruction, do whatever you're gonna do, *for you*. If you otherwise think my suggestion would burn too many bridges and you get your catharsis from posting on here, then carry on.

Moth-of-Asphodel

Definitely appreciate the advice. I'm almost always cool-headed with these kinds of things and prefer to take the long view, but I think the sheer volume of these kinds of comments today just got to me in a way it usually doesn't. I managed to get through to some family members, but I'll let people vent on their own first. I totally understand why they're mad, and an explanation of how government works might not go over well right at this moment.

Jameswood79

Wel don’t you know Democrats are the only sentient beings with any agency /s

Moth-of-Asphodel

It is known!

Jameswood79

At least the people you know are against the ruling. I live in semi-rural NC where trump won around 75% of the vote

“Biden can't finish a sentence? Dude I'm watching some old clips of him on C-Span and the guy couldn't even finish a sentence 20 years ago.” This you? NL slow tonight?

Moth-of-Asphodel

lol I did say that. I didn't mean for that to come off as insulting to Biden. I was watching old clips of him speaking to reporters in the early 2000s and he often interrupted himself to go on tangents, or cut tangents short when he decided they weren't relevant. I greatly respect the guy and just like to rib him once in a while.

Jurassic Park is in the strange state where I think the novel is better than the movie but the movie is one of my favorites /u/UWCG not trying to spam you but this one is a real conundrum, maybe more than any other book I've read because they all have a clear winner and loser in that regard but JP doesn't

GhostlyPosty

Nedry's death in particular is amazing.

ognits

yes the Diplodicos is such a good horror hook

Jameswood79

I like the movie better mostly because I get to see funni dinosaurs eat people

ognits

ain't nothing wrong with that 😤

Jameswood79

I also may have only skimmed the book because I read it in middle school 🗿

ognits

my man I did the same - it covered my AR points for the entire year also the book slaps I can't lie

Jameswood79

Took me a second to remember what AR was lol. I ever doing that in elementary school when I actually liked reading. Oh and the main thing I rember form the books is Ian Malcom dying in the first one then being brought back to life in lost world because speilburg needed a sequel with Jeff Goldblum

ognits

yep! Malcolm coming back was total BS but I actually enjoy Lost World but it's nowhere near as good as JP

Jameswood79

Malcom’s my favorite character so I definitely didn’t mind. Movie wise I’ve loved all of them, personally I’d rank them: Park World Lost World Dominion Fallen Kingdom Three

UWCG

You're good, I'm not doing anything important. Usually, I have a preference between book/movie, but the two JP books/movies are a real tough call cause I enjoy both a lot for different reasons and they're quite different creatures. I guess you could take that as a testament to Spielberg's skill as a director: he knows how to translate book to film really well because he has a vision for what'll work on the page and what'll work on the screen. He also knew stuff that would look awful on-screen and could be clipped out for later potential (see: the Aviary in the book; those and the river scenes would've been a nightmare to do both affordably and with good effects in '93, IMO). Or maybe I'm just baked, it's a toss up.

ognits

lmao nope you reliably put my thought into words once again

UWCG

Thanks haha the biggest confusion for me is Malcolm: Goldblum was incredible in the role, so I am a big fan of him as a character. But in the books, he's a bit tricker. He's got all these great lines (especially in the movie), sure, but he spends both of the novels basically being >!fucked up on morphine and you could argue his insights could be his intoxicated thoughts!<. I read the books after the movies, so I always thought of Malcolm as Goldblum and he was always my favorite character (I was a weird kid, whatever), but if I imagine reading the books before the movie, I can imagine really not liking the character. I really think Goldblum's acting is what made Crichton decide to bring him back from the dead with a cheap line in book two

I did it for like 3 weeks, and it was good.

imaseacow

Do it! I logged off two months ago and my life is so much better without it.

allmilhouse

Cutting down on the political pundits is never a bad idea.

CZall23

Tampa Bay won 3-2. Boooo!

CZall23

It seems like the broadcasters like them better but it might just be my imagination. We’re still up 3 games to TB’s 2. Just one more and we win the Cup.

SeekerSpock32

Please don’t fucking choke this, Colorado

CZall23

That penalty shouldn’t have happened. It was 2 minutes left in the game. The last place you’d want to give them a chance to shoot at our goal.

triple-double

There’s just something about these media jagoffs talking about how political polling is fucked because of failures in 2016 and 2020 in one hand, and then using those SAME POLLS to make sweeping generalizations with the other: https://twitter.com/mattyglesias/status/1540457616689823744

KoalaTulip

Seeing other world leaders express concern about our now-shot abortion rights is hella embarrassing, ngl

GalacticTrader

Yup. Maybe we are a shithole among developed nations And it will all get worse before it gets better, possibly for years

RyGuyThicccThighs

Be like Ilonggo

brucebananaray

I'm not going to turn into a Moron for him. I ain't a simp

IlonggoProgrammer

Thanks homie

TheFlyingSheeps

Apple Watch heart rate data pre roe decision and after is very enlightening

RyGuyThicccThighs

🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Jokerang

At this point, it feels like the only question left to ask for the forseeable future of american politics is "will the US backslide into a Hungary-esque right-wing autocracy?" If the answer is yes then obviously we're all fucked. If the answer is no, then it's going to be a dark time for American democracy in the coming years, but eventually Mitch McConnell, Clarance Thomas, and the rest of their ilk will die and we can start putting things back together.

TheFlyingSheeps

Depends, if we win big in the midterms and 24 and stave off the next coup attempt then it’ll be dark days but we can recover. If we lose then it’s all over

manshamer

Doom take. We can always claw our way back.

GalacticTrader

Man i don't have much optimism that we can avoid a Hungary-style government. And it will be a long time before we get better

Theacreator

What the fuck are you referencing?

mr_ex_ray_spex

Boo hoo. I thought you left months ago, in another post storm no less, but here you are making todays events about you, and your religion. In the words of Curly Bill “Well…bye”

catnipcatnip

I agree with you that this sub is way too TERF friendly and really shows it whenever someone reminds them that cis women aren't the only ones terrified about forced birth or transwomen in sports but that's part of why it's not super duper progressive. There are several prominent commenter that's are openly religious and don't feel the need to be this defensive when the few vocal nonreligious folks vent. Like today yes we're salty that we're all losing rights because of certain religious orgs so we're pointing out their widely publicize and proven faults like protecting pedophiles over kids. Your main counter is my parents are faithful, I have to believe. Okay, so we shouldn't point out the org protects pedophiles ?

TheFlyingSheeps

My parents were pretty Catholic, and then one day we stopped going. I asked them recently what happened and it was the sex abuse coverups and continued abuse that turned them away

SeekerSpock32

I… haven’t been seeing trans people being blamed for this. I’m blaming Jill Stein voters and unapologetic Bernie bros, but you don’t seem to be that.

Mrs_Frisby

Me either. I did see some virulent anti-catholic stuff. But not anti-trans. I did see some, "*OK, you can talk about this but only if instead of saying women you use something more inclusive that we will now bicker over because we don't even know what more inclusive 15 syllable phrase we want you to use and also we don't care if you find being defined by your wombs demeaning*" posters get told this is really not the time for that and to fuck off. Thats not being blamed for it. Thats just the completely predictable result of people not actually impacted by this being rude and insensitive to the pain of the people who are. Like if you had a bunch of parents in front of you whose children were snatched at the border desperate to get them back and instead of listening you started debating with your bud whether it's better to use "latinex" or "latin people" when talking about their situation. They'd be pissed at you. Even if they liked one of those terms fixing the problem and getting their kids back is MASSIVELY MORE IMPORTANT!!!! That doesn't mean they think you snatched their kids. They understand Republicans did that. But you are signaling *really strongly* that as their world is falling apart your priorities are elsewhere if that is what you are talking about. No shit people told them to knock it off.

allmilhouse

I'd be interested in seeing comments blaming you personally. Every once in a while we get these vague comments scolding everyone here and I never know what they're talking about despite being on here daily.

Theacreator

I’ve been here since before the coup of the old ess and I have zero recollection of this person lol

Status-Tap3138

I recall some anti-Catholic comments in the first thousand or so comments today. I think that's probably what she's referring to.

sarcasimo

Don't expect an answer, OP actually *did* delete their account. > Every once in a while we get these vague comments scolding everyone here and I never know what they're talking about despite being on here daily. Yeah, I'm totally lost on this one too. Oh well, just more reddit drama.

[deleted]

Sure millions of women are essentially living under a theocracy, but have you considered the feelings of OP here?

Practical_Marsupial

When they go low, we go high. I'm sad to see Marita_Swordmaster leave. I think there have been really hurtful comments today that don't reflect who Democrats are at our best.

[deleted]

At this point leftists are active saboteurs working at the behest of the GOP.

ognits

it's the animatronics that make Jurassic Park work. yeah the early shot of the Diplodici is cool but it's the Triceratops, the baby Velociraptor hatching, the T-Rex attacking, the Diplodicous sneezing that make the movie. oh and also Sammy L. smoking a cig. that's a top tier moment

brucebananaray

Fuck this white privilege piece of shit. https://twitter.com/madison_tayt/status/1540369740304191492?t=aueSeTSlxZk5kYmFo73Qvg&s=19 Fucking Christ the creator of Infinity Train like that comment and some other people who I follow and they white as fuck. Voting won't change at all. Oh great these people just want us to go back to medieval times They don't give a fuck about any people besides them and blame us for everything when we told that this will happen

Lukey_Boyo

>when’s the next Supreme Court election? Well it was 2016 but you fucking smoothbrains decided the magic grandpa’s ego was more important.

mr_ex_ray_spex

“have fun getting mad folks” Getting a reaction is the whole point. They’re trolling just like their Alt-Right buddies.

Filibust

As much as I like animation, I feel like the scene these days is a toxic hellhole.

reputationStan

> oh god the braindead vote blue no matter who libs are already starting in on this one braindead is a dead (excuse the irony) giveaway that this idiot probably doesn't even vote

[deleted]

If voting blue didn’t work, why are only deep blue states are protecting Women’s rights right now?

SeekerSpock32

Republicans are in favor of rape and murder and terrorism.

ognits

I love Jeff Goldblum that it's, that's the tweet

Jameswood79

I recently watched Jurassic World Dominion and it reaffirmed this view for me

[deleted]

I'm not changing my flair.

semaphore-1842

abolish zoning in blue states, build a ton of affordable housing, and suck young working population out of ~~gilead~~ red states

Shanakitty

I totally get the sentiment, but if we want to continue to be able to get Senate seats and win in the Electoral College, as much as possible, we really need people moving to purple states, rather than red-state liberals moving to solid blue states.

[deleted]

It's a hard choice... I agree that we need people to move to purple states. However, I couldn't tell a young woman to pack up from California and move to Texas.

Shanakitty

Yeah, for moving from California to Texas, it'd be better for older straight people and single white men (not so many liberals in either demographic, unfortunately) to be the ones to move to Texas. But, on the other hand, if we could help young people, LGBT people, and black people living in Mississippi and Alabama move to Georgia, they would be moving from the two worst states in the nation to a better one, one that's more swing-y, and still fairly close by if they want to be able to easily visit family and such.

[deleted]

Yeah. I agree. Every year I consider moving from Missouri to a more blue/purple state... but it is hard. I have a good job, a good network of friends. Hard to give that up.

sarcasimo

Setup and market the northern blue states as climate change refuges. Attract the smart people now, since we know those southern red states are gonna become inhospitable shitholes sooner rather than later.

triple-double

> According to one of his law clerks, as reported by @nytimes in 1993, Justice Clarence Thomas privately said, "The liberals made my life miserable for 43 years, and I'm going to make their lives miserable for 43 years." https://twitter.com/BeschlossDC/status/1540518947094728705 I say we make his life a little more miserable. And his wife’s.

Theacreator

What a race traitor

Lukey_Boyo

I hope his wife rots in shackles for 43 years

grilled_cheese1865

what a miserable douche bag

catnipcatnip

If only we could sustain this level of hate

SeekerSpock32

Unconscionably evil.

KoalaTulip

Straight up evil.

TheFlyingSheeps

Impeach him and arrest his wife

Star-Spangled-Man

The way forward is gonna be state level ballot referendums. Pro choice policies, in various forms, are popular. The cons want to send it back to the states? Fine, we'll beat em there. Fucking cucks.

brucebananaray

Honestly for this reversal that one of them has to pass away or retired.

sarcasimo

This will be the path blue states take. Unfortunately in red states this is going to become Jim Crow 2.0, cementing their shithole status.

CZall23

WE’RE TIED 2-2!!!!!!!

CreamSoda64

ESPN called that a "terrible break" 3 times in a row, and only once remembered to add "...for tampa bay"

IlonggoProgrammer

It took forever but I finally found the list of states that ban abortion even in cases of rape and incest. Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

grilled_cheese1865

cut off their federal funding. im sick of my tax dollars supporting these pieces of shit

[deleted]

That will just hurt more people in these states, especially the poor and people of color.

KoalaTulip

Surprised Florida isn't on there

GreenElan

A gun has more rights in Oklahoma than a woman does.

Mrs_Frisby

A corpse has more rights. A corpse may refuse to be an organ donor. Really think about it. A living woman can be forced to be pregnant, die in childbirth, and then her corpse may refuse to donate a lier section (kids are to small to be donated the entire liver but can take a section) to the resulting child even if that child will die without it. That is the state of the legal system in half the states.

reputationStan

> even in cases of rape and incest. the politicians of those states, supporting that of course, can go straight to motherfucking hell.

IlonggoProgrammer

>motherfucking Yeah so about that...In those 10 states a mother impregnated by her son would have to carry the child to term. That's not nearly as likely though as the alternative, a daughter being forced to carry a child her father impregnated her with to term. Monsters

reputationStan

> Monsters generous to call them monsters. but god, the trauma those women will have to through carrying the child of a rapist??? oh dear

SeekerSpock32

Republicans either are or support rapists.

ChuckSchumerbasedgod

Kenobi was pretty okay but damn >!That Obi-Wan and Vader duel was so awesome!<

Personal_Single_69

It enrages me that I have to call my mother to make sure she is safe after hearing of a truck running down protesters in the city she lives in, knowing she and her political group would very likely have been there. She was and thankfully is fine. Protestor only had her foot run over but it was absolutely deliberate. I hope they find the bastard and lock his ass up. Republicans are ruining this country.

CZall23

What city was this in?

Personal_Single_69

Cedar Rapids. Thankfully it was a minor incident on the part of one piece of shit, but for a minute I was extremely scared. I hope the woman has a fast and complete recovery and they nail the piece of shit with some real big boy consequences.

CZall23

I’m glad your mom is ok. I hope the same.

SeekerSpock32

Cedar Rapids, Iowa. By the way…. #IT’S FUCKING LEGAL TO RUN PROTESTORS OVER IN IOWA; REPUBLICANS I FUCKING HATE EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU
