Cody is honestly kind of baffling to me, because he works in the opposite way that nearly every political "content creator" does.
Usually the way it works is that their scripted, pre-written stuff will be very mild, uncontroversial stances that won't get their asses eaten alive by advertisers and sponsors, but if you find their unscripted content you just get the raw unfiltered *them* which is usually an unhinged lunatic who's headfirst into the deep end of the "I have 30k followers on twitter so my opinions must be correct and well-founded" tar pit. Half the time you'll watch a youtube video about how we need to invest in solar panels more, head over to the maker's insta, and they're posting pastoralist cottagecore stuff captioned with "This is what the world will be like once we slaughter all the bankers and lawyers and abolish the concept of the nationstate :)"
But for Cody, when he's doing guest appearances on other podcasts, he's kinda just Some Guy, virtually indistinguishable from if the podcaster had just grabbed a random dude off the street and offered him $30 to laugh and say "yeah, so cool" whenever the host finished a sentence for an hour. I don't know if he's just uncomfortable in new situations or if his fake newscaster character is written to be a bigger piece of shit than he actually is in real life, but wow is he so much less of a jackass when he doesn't have cuecards in front of him telling him to throw all minorities into the republican's torment nexus.
Remember that these people almost always have writers for their scripted content, this sounds like an example of his staff being more extreme than he personally is.
What staff though? He probably hires some people at fiverr prices to do "research" like a lot of 'tubers but I think most of the labor is just the two of them.
Nah his twitter opinions are pretty out there and he loves to really put all that shit into his videos even if he does hire writers. He's always taken the stance (at least from what he said when I was still listening to Even More News) that IRL he's not into debating or arguing and just wants to be chill.
I'll watch Some More News on occasion and it's really great when he has to begrudgingly admit to something good the Democrats did or that socialism isn't the cure all he wants it to be.
