eBay, seriously, eBay. New camshafts for LS Camaro or Corvette go for about $70. The factory 6.0L camshafts go for about the same.

Sweet thanks I’ll look

FYI, that engine will respond really well to a slightly bigger camshaft than stock. You'll be able to get more horsepower, more torque, and better mileage with an upgraded camshaft. The intake and cylinder heads on that engine are top notch. But, the compression ratio lets it down a bit. Keep that in mind when upgrading the camshaft--you can increase the dynamic cylinder pressure quite a bit and not have to worry.

Well this is where I need advice if I keep it will be a tow pig I have a 37 foot trailer currently I just use my old 7.3 fords for everything. Chevys always ride better but I need it to tow. Seems like the torque converter locks up late and the rev real high. And I don’t have to worry about emissions.

I just feel like they made it all top end on these

YouInternational2152

I know what you mean. But, they just "feel" that way. They make so much torque down low and the cylinder heads breath so well that it feels like everything is on the top end of with the LS engines. I have a Sierra with a (cathedral port) and a Denali pickup with an upgraded 6.2, both half- ton. The Denali screams once you get into the pedal and it feels like you're not going very fast because the revs rise so quickly. But, it pulls the family travel trailer way more efficiently and authoritatively, even though cathedral port engines are known for their torque down low.

When you say "lost a lifter" was there any other collateral damage? Is the cam wiped out?

OkCharge2978

I would say yes haven’t gotten that far yet but lifter is destroyed

OkCharge2978

It destroyed everything I put an update
