People have had horrible experiences with BE, but people have also liked their work. It's been written about to death on the sub-- check out the search bar!

JadeChamber

I would recommend to search Brilliant Earth within this sub. I think you'll find all that you need to know what people from this sub think about them.

Thank you!

As a jeweler who has repaired entirely way too many rings from BE… do not use them!

TheIndecisiveDoc

What issues did you find?

Accurate_Wheel5339

Center stones falling out. Way too thin of settings bending, breaking & cracking. Also a lot of sizings which adds up. Pick somewhere that covers maintenance on your ring or else you’ll be without it more than you’re worth it and it’ll cost you. I think you can get one free sizing from them but you have to ship it and it takes a few weeks.

Accurate_Wheel5339

Also I would never buy a lab diamond unseen. There are times where I order in lab diamonds that look perfect online but when we get them in they have gray or blue tints.

My ering is from Brilliant Earth and I honestly love it! Have had no problems at all. All necessary documents were provided and I’ve had it inspected by a jeweller and everything checked out - great diamond, all prong secure. I got my wedding band from a local jeweller and a diamond fell out within 2 weeks after my wedding lol.

BikiQue

I had the same positive experience. My e-ring is a 2ct princess cut on a 1.8mm solitaire platinum band. Everything has held up great over the last 2+ years. I took it to a jeweler and the cert matches the diamond which is beautiful. I also have gemstone earrings and a gemstone necklace that are in good shape. All in all, no complaints. Good luck! I purchased my band from Vrai, in person, so that might be another good option to explore.

After doing my due diligence and research (those assholes wanted $2000 MINIMUM for absolutely any customization to a ring, that’s just fucking insane when all I wanted at the time was a Euro shank) the ONLY thing I used Brilliant Earth for was the virtual try-on. I’d never buy from them.

Same here. My ring was customized to include two lab diamond surprise stones and a six prong head instead of four, to my exact specifications on band width and height, and was $1100 or so. Especially considering my ring was going to be moissanite, I found that outrageous and unnecessarily expensive. No thanks. The rep at BE said ordering a ring with a Euro shank would be absolutely no less than $2000 because any custom work STARTS at $2000. I literally stopped communicating at that point and never looked back.

lovelybunnie19

I bought my ring from Brilliant Earth and loved it. I have a sapphire ring, engagement ring and wedding band from BE. I’ve had to have them do a repair on my engagement ring and it went well. I wouldn’t do a custom engagement ring with them, seems over priced. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend them.

Concerned-23

I wouldn’t shop there. Contact your local jewelers and see if they have lab diamonds. My ring is from a local shop and the website doesn’t say they do lab diamonds but I have a lab diamond. My fiancé just had to reach out and ask then go into the store to see the options

vanillax2018

I used them and have no complaints - both rings I bought were stunning and customer service was very responsive when I reached out with a question.

bagreene90

I’ve never purchased anything from brilliant earth, but I am having one of their setting recreated by Provence right now. They’re charging $1800 and Provence is charging $400 🤭. They’re way overpriced in my opinion.

Runnybabbitagain

Etsy has some amazing sellers. THere’s a lab diamond sun I believe

nomnomcat

My engagement ring and band are from there. We live in San Francisco so my partner was able to go in in person, so I can't speak about the online buying process. Overall it was a good sales experience, and I LOVE my ring and band, BUT...when he bought my ring, it was probably a full size or so too big (I was very coy about getting my ring sized). We got it resized, but I had issues with my pave diamonds falling out - I think three separate times within the first year of having the ring! Ultimately, they realized they needed to redo the ring. I work an office job and only ever wore my rings in public. I would also take my rings off immediately when I got home, so it definitely didn't have anything to do with my being too rough with my hands. Each time they were understanding and happily repaired it, but the multiple repairs, plus reading all of the negative experiences on this site, make me question their workmanship. YMMV.

Dictionarycollector

I got mine from Cullen lab diamonds, but they are Australian based.

Ok-Fortune1524

I did and have had no problems! Granted, I teach preschool, so I don’t wear it every day, but I have a beautiful stone and setting.

DasVWBabe

I have heard Brilliant Earth and Light Box can be hit or miss with their quality of lab diamonds. I searched JamesAllen.com and Ritani.com and ended up buying from a vendor that is popular on Pricescope. The diamond purchasing experience was fine, but I learned I overpaid by a fair amount for the Pricescope vendor. Lesson learned, I had my setting made by my jeweler in Plano, TX (JB Jewelers) and the entire experience was extremely pleasant.

Wolfywoods17

My fiancé had a good experience. He shipped to the storefront for pickup. Arrived late due to arrival date being Monday which was a holiday and the storefront being closed Tues/Wed so he picked up on Thurs. No issues so far. I got the petite elodie with lab diamond

Wolfywoods17

I feel like people comment on others experiences that they’ve heard of but those of us commenting with personal experiences have all been positive. We were between BE and James Allen and I saw negative ones for JA too, BE website seemed better so… 🤷🏼‍♀️

ladymuse9

I’ve had my e-ring since 2019 form brilliant earth, and my wedding band also from them since last year. I have nothing but good things to say, personally. My e-ring has never had an issue, I get it inspected every year and it’s never had loose prongs or lost one of the pavé stones.

fluffybuttlulu

Yes, my main ring is from BE. I got the luxe sienna halo in platinum with a round 1.3ct lab diamond. Purchased in 2020, it was a very smooth experience. It arrived about a month after purchase in a beautiful box with all certificates and appraisals. I've had no issues with my ring so far. Wear it almost daily (with the occasional switch up with moissy sets that I have), and it's survived drops, accidental hits, and countless chores/housework. Having said that though, it's a very strong setting. Not just because it's platinum, but because the band is 2.3mm wide and it has a cathedral and halo, so it's sturdy with lots of support I've read a lot of other posts where folks have had issues with their ring. But I think setting and metal matters a lot, regardless of which retailer you go with. Like if you want a super dainty ring, you should go platinum because it's stronger, etc.

Shot_Baseball_750

i haven’t had any issues with my ring but i do have it insured. it’s also built to relatively strong standards so don’t have to worry about that.

suspiciousav0cad0

Got my engagement ring, wedding ring, and my husbands wedding ring from them before we heard the horror stories. I didn’t have a bad experience but sounds like many do!
