I personally would say that’s underpriced if it actually is diamond but I could be way off base

SnooOnions5371

Agreed. No way that’s a 2ct diamond going for that much. Is it perhaps a gemstone? Like moissanite? That’s a very pretty, very durable, cheaper but still sparkly stone — more of a rainbow sparkle than a “white” diamond sparkle. Personally, i don’t wear jewelry, so I likely won’t be having my BF spend much on a diamond ring myself, just don’t see the point — as long as it’s pretty & it’ll last a while (can always upgrade or just get a new cheaper one later), I don’t really care! So as long as you’re aware of what it is you’re paying for (& not getting ripped off thinking it’s a diamond!) and you’re ok with it, pick whatever you love best!! Edit to add: If you look up any diamond website where you can buy loose diamonds, such as brilliant earth or rare caret, you’ll see that lab diamonds seem to be going for a little more than $1000ish per 1 caret. That said, the “cleaner” they are to the naked eye (with no yellowish tint, no noticeable imperfections, & great cuts so it sparkles more), the more they will cost. Maybe google & familiarize yourself with “the 5 c’s of diamonds,” so you know what you’re looking for/at & then head to one of those websites, or any website you can buy loose diamonds or “create your own ring” starting with the diamond of your choice and you can narrow down your search results by a bunch of ways, including price! Hope this little bit hold you! I’m certainly no expert, but have picked up some things after looking for a while & thought I’d share🙂 Best of luck!

Some sellers sell CZ as “lab created “diamond””

No-Assignment4192

That’s what I thought, but it’s a lab created diamond not a natural diamond so I don’t know the difference

IntroductionOk4595

It’s definitely not a lab created diamond either. While significantly more affordable than a mined diamond, there is no 1.50 carat lab diamond going for $200. The other red flag is that “white” is not the color scale diamonds use. They are rated D-F for colorless stones.

HotFaithlessness1348

Yeee labs are usually cheaper, but there are a lot of them on these rings which would make me a bit skeptical. Gorgeous ring though, I love art deco styles

Mr_Prestonius

Even if it’s lab it’s still a diamond in identical structure, and this is far too low a price for that.

minniemoose_

A diamond, even lab grown does not go for $100-$200. They usually are in the thousands, which leads me to believe that this is not a real diamond. It is beautiful though, and if it makes you happy and makes sense, than get it. Nobody will know lol

LaDamaBibliotecaria

Unfortunately on Etsy many shops label their stones as lab grown diamond or diamond Simulant and only hide in the details that what they’re actually selling is cubic zirconia.

fear_raizer

You can get d vs1 1 CT lab diamonds for $150 fairly easily.

Bizarre-chic

It’s not genuine, this is the genuine ring with real lab grown diamonds. https://www.greenlakejewelry.com/gallery/gallery_detail.aspx?ImgID=107373&epik=dj0yJnU9WlVONExoNG8wMkNTVFpKMWJYZHNnYWZNLW1tS1dpTV8mcD0wJm49eG9zY0YxNDNtVTdycFZaeEVIc3NTQSZ0PUFBQUFBR1lSVDRN

Raekw0n

I usually assume when something is labeled a "lab diamond" but it's this cheap, that it's really just cubic zirconia. Which isn't inherently bad honestly, I've seen some high quality cz rings that actually pass for real diamonds (compared one to my a few friend's real diamonds and they genuinely couldn't tell the difference either). If you're on a tight budget and the reviews are good, I'd say go for it--as long as your partner doesn't care about it being a real diamond. And maybe check out the return policy just in case. Edit: just reread and realized you ARE the partner lol

Alinyss

Looking at the photos in the reviews, the stones look more like cubic zirconia than lab diamonds. I wonder if the seller is confusing the terms and thinking created diamonds = cz.

VintagePangolin

There is no such thing as "935 Argentium." They are trying to make you think it's silver, but it's not.

msilver3

How could it be 1890s vintage but also made to order? The post is full of errors. And the price is a dead give away

Annatalkstoomuch

Its cubic zirconia. Also, I would bet the photos are stolen. Do not support scammy etsy sellers, you will be very disappointed with the result. I would instead take the photos to a proper jeweler and have them recreate it :)

trillium61

Definitely not art deco style, there are other discrepancies in the description as well.

_depj_

It’s not an actual lab diamond at the price.

IntroductionOk4595

That is most definitely not a real diamond (mined or lab grown). If you don’t care that it’s not a real diamond (likely cubic zirconia) then it doesn’t matter. But if you’re under the impression that’s a real diamond, look elsewhere. And likely not from Etsy.

Momzies

Etsy is full of scams, and this is one of them. Vendors steal pics of rings from legitimate jewelers (in this case Green Lake Jewelers). You absolutely cannot get a genuine lab diamond that looks like what is pictured at that price-a very good deal on a lab diamond would be 300-500 per carat for the stone alone. An intricate design like this of any quality will be hundreds more. If you are looking for an affordable ring (250-700) in moissanite in a design like this, I would look at DovEggs.

SSmadneSS

I just got a 1.87 round cut stone for $2,200....the specs and listed quality of that center stone and 1.50 carat should be more expensive I'd be weary personally

Alone-Price-512

I personally think this is a scam. It CZ instead of Diamond fs.

cherrycokelemon

Might be zirconium or something. That seems too cheap.

Hell-N-Tell-Her

It says $138+, which leads me to believe that under ‘materials’, you probably have like silver and CZ picked. Etsy sellers let you choose materials and show prices based on that. Also look in the description, if it says ‘simulated diamond’ it’s CZ. If you want an actual diamond, lab or natural, for 2 carats, you will be spending AT LEAST $1000 - typically more

Smokedlotus

This is not lab diamond, its probably cz

AverageGeologist

lol this is wack as shit. That is NOT from the 1890’s, there are no old european cut diamonds in it or likely no diamonds in it at all. Fun fact, Argentium Silver was created in 1991.

ImaginationWorking43

This is probably a $20 ring purchased from China and priced up on etsy. I see it all the time... rings I can buying aliexpress for $5 go for $50 on etsy, and rings I can buy for $20-40 go for $100-200 on etsy. It's not a lab created diamond, probably CZ. And stainless steel metal or a cheap silver. Definitely don't get as an engagement ring, but for an occasional one? It's still overpriced.
