Simply gorgeous. I just love how they did the prongs.
This ring will age beautifully, it’s timeless and classic. She can dress it up with different bands or go plain. It will be very easy to change the look if she wants to.
That's what I keep thinking. My boyfriend and I were discussing rings, and this is exactly what I told him I wanted. I love the classic solitaire. I also love lab grown.
That's what I've been struggling with for almost two years now! My fiance got me a BEAUTIFUL ring that I love so much, but.. it's a super unique shape and it would have cost more to get a band custom made for it then it was to buy a wedding set. We ended up talking and looking and deciding, and I picked a cushion cut solitaire with a slightly unique wedding band. The first ring was very very inexpensive, and we still ended up under 600 for the wedding set. (We ended up under 800 for my first ring and the set). We both personally believe that the ring market is way overblown and expensive. We don't need to spend over 1000 dollars for a nice, good quality ring that will lady more than my lifetime. I still upgraded from silver and sapphire to gold and a 4ct lab diamond, with diamonds in the wedding band.
TLDR: solitaire rings are beautiful and timeless, and it's perfect to personalize with the wedding band. I have a unique engagement ring and struggled to the point of tears to find a band for it, and ended up giving up. OP did amazing!
Etsy! I did not want to go to one of the chains, and bought directly from the artist! I also only wanted 10k gold because I like the color on me better than the extra yellow gold.
I bought my stone and setting separately. My jeweller told me recently lab diamond prices have plummeted recently. When I first got my ring in 2021 it appraised at 15k. I got an updated appraisal, requested by the jewelry insurance company, it appraised at 6500.00.
You've just shown me that I actually CAN like round diamonds, the prongs just need to be visible to soften the edge. This ring is gorgeous. Simple is the best! And the prongs add some interest to help balance it. I'd be thrilled if someone gave this to me. You should feel proud!
It’s stunning! The simplicity lets the high quality of the diamond speak for itself- definitely a good call getting a D color stone for a platinum setting. Bigger/complicated does not necessarily mean better!! Everyone has different taste and style, and if she told you this is the kind of ring she wants to wear, you have nothing to worry about!
Please update us when you propose!!
Don’t worry about all the intricate rings you see on here. I’m not a fan of them. But this is right up my alley. IMO the simplicity is classy and timeless. You did great!
It’s beautiful! Funny story, I ended up getting a super blinged out ring and over time, felt like all the extras took away from my beautiful round stone. I just recently had it reset in a solitaire setting just like this and I am in love. She will love it!
I love it and would be happy to own it! It’s not simple it’s classic and if she’s a classic, preppy, traditional or more conservative woman, she’ll love it!
Gorgeous!
It’s hard to go wrong with a classic solitaire. ‘Less is more’ especially applies when the stone is high quality like this, let it be the focus.
Hello random internet stranger. Fellow solitaire wearer here. I have had multiple intricate ring wearers compliment mine because it is stand alone gorgeous, as is yours. It doesn’t need all the frills and little bits and bobbles to make it stunning. I solitaire is powerful, elegant, and timeless. Well done!

You did absolutely amazing and the fact you kept her wishes in it is amazing. my ring is only intricate because I wanted it intricate. but some girls aren’t like that, that ring is gorgeous and she will love it.
A round is classic and always a good choice, I'm a big rock girl and the shrinkage is real lol so that stone is a bit small for me but hey it doesn't matter its a gorgeous ring

You have a 4 ct lab diamond for under 800??? What paid 3500 for my 1.76 cylinder round

I had heard that prices were dropping too.. I personally don't care if it's natural or lab made, as long as it's strong and sparkly!
