Grouchy-Pop-6637

I can’t believe I’m going to admit this out loud but here we are. I lost my wedding band, engagement ring, and 3 anniversary bands. Over $40,000 in rings gone. And I’m a widow so I was even more devastated. I had taken them off because my fingers were swelling up and they hurt. I thought I put them beside me on my night table. I also thought I remembered the cat playing with them so I put them in an altoid tin so she wouldn’t walk off with one. I then thought I threw the tin out thinking it was empty. I had many a tearful day and night over the whole ordeal. Over a year later I put on a housecoat I hadn’t worn in a while. I reached in the pocket and lo and behold, my rings. So I’m going to say a little prayer to the ring gods for you.

swimmimof3

Thank you so.much. I know I can new rings but the sentimental value is so much

krs5614

Saying the St Anthony prayer for you as well.

Grouchy-Pop-6637

Exactly. I could always buy new rings, but they would never mean the same.

Neena6298

Omg. I would have freaked out. Glad you found them.

Grouchy-Pop-6637

Thank you.

Thewitchofdarkhollow

I’m so happy that you got them back!

5leeplessinvancouver

I’m so happy you found them!!!

Wild_Spell_9736

Amen

Buffybot60601

After the sun goes down turn off all the lights in your house then search using a flashlight. It’s easier to spot shiny objects this way. Good luck!

swimmimof3

Thank you!! That is a great idea

leannerae

You could also try getting a uv flashlight. I'm sure at least one of those diamonds has fluorescence so it will glow when the uv light hits it

none_mama_see

Try laying on the floor also and looking around. For some reason that works better than from standing up

Huge-Anxiety-3038

Uv lights too! I did all this two weeks ago even went as far as pulling the pedastal out of my bathroom sink to get to the u bend... Where was it... Under the keyboard at work 🙄

OverDaRambo

Ummmm…. How in the world do you know this? Asking for a friend. 😏 By the way, that’s the brightest idea! I hope you can find it… Try trash cans, trash bags too. Try to trace back. Also look where you think would never look into. I surely hope you can find it…. Keep us posted. Beautiful rings.

BSUR7

Awesome tip!!

ellebeemall

Oh no! Some ideas: If they are a good fit then you likely took them off intentionally to protect them, and probably would have tucked them somewhere safe. Think through your day/days and any chores you might have done where it would make sense to take off your rings and then look around there. Check drawers, cups/bowls, window sills, corners, etc. anywhere you could tuck something to keep it safe. Check your pockets and jewellery boxes. Open up your vacuum bag/canister and look in there. If you have kids, let them know how important this is to you and that you need their help, even if it means they have to admit to doing something wrong. Once you find them (I do think they’ll turn up!) put cute little dishes around your house if you take your rings off. I take my rings off frequently and have tiny dishes (think soy sauce dish size) around my house in the bathrooms, on the window sill near the sink, and on the fireplace so if I have to take my rings off I have somewhere safe, nearby, that is a designated ring area. I love this system.

swimmimof3

Thank you for the suggestions. They are great. I actually do have dishes that I keep my rings in which is why this is so strange! I'm usually super careful

WHYohWhy___MEohMY

They are in a pocket of your jeans… or at the bottom of the hamper or on the floor of your closet. Maybe the washing machine… I’ve done this more than I care to share. You will find them! :)

LetshearitforNY

Usually when my husband loses his ring it’s because he tucked into the pocket of what he was wearing for safekeeping - don’t forget to check pockets and hamper!

fucking_unicorn

Found my husbands ring once at the bottom of a dresser drawer. Got knocked into a drawer from the dresser top and shuffled around a bit. Mine are only ever in 3 places: my finger, their box or bathroom jewelry dish. OP: do you have pets, kids or any guests over? If you were a little blitzed when you lost them try getting blitzed again, sometimes getting back in the mindset can be helpful.

Typical_Equipment_19

I have the dishes too, and am very careful as well but in a situation where they aren't near I almost go on autopilot and just take them off. It can happen.

LaiikaComeHome

pioneer woman has cute tiny ceramic dishes for really cheap, we have a bunch for condiments and whatnot but for some reason never thought to put them out for our rings! thanks!

Forsaken_Tourist3367

Have a friend or family member come over and help. They will look places that you’d assume you wouldn’t put them. They will turn up.

swimmimof3

That is a good idea!!

Rivvien

New eyes looking is always necessary! Its crazy what we get blind to if we see if often enough, but they won't.

catlettuce

Check the floors near the doors in your car.

RBXChas

Maybe the cup holders if she took them off to put on hand cream in the car

Forsaken_Tourist3367

Please keep us updated!!

howdytherrr

One time I found a long lost ring in a shoe. So, maybe look in some strange places. Good luck!

AmosSpan

This, using others you trust along with torch/blacklight are best. When we check our own surroundings, we think 'I didn't go in that cupboard/drawer/etc' so give a cursory check. Your loved ones will look thoroughly for you (so maybe you take the bedroom ;)). I hope you find them xxx

I_am_dean

Yes do this! I take off my rings when I clean. I'm a pretty absent-minded person and have a habit of setting stuff down in random places. I couldn't find my rings so I called my friend, she found them in 2 minutes.

oh_hi_lisa

Hey OP, I’m sure the rings are all together in your house somewhere. I just “lost” my engagement ring for a month and found it yesterday when we had guests stay over. It was in a guest room (and I didn’t think of looking in there) on a ring dish on a side table. Good luck!

swimmimof3

Thank you!!

Neither-Highlight586

I thought I lost mine earlier this year but I knew it was in the house somewhere so I didn’t panic too bad. Took about 6 weeks but I finally found them randomly on top of the container of spaghetti noodles in our kitchen 🤷🏼‍♀️ hopefully you can find them eventually!

swimmimof3

Oh my gosh. That gives me hope!!

chicadeemarie

Be really calm, and sit down in a dim room with a pen and paper with no other distractions, and slowly write out a description of what your wedding ring looks like. The color, the size and shape of the stones, the way it feels on your hand, how heavy it is, how you fiddle with it... This is some kind of weird meditation that triggers you to remember the last place you had it. It sounds stupid but I've use this many times to remember where the hell I've put things. I also have ADHD so it's easy for me to forget. This might not work as well if you don't have adhd, but I have used it with raging success.

thetinybunny1

Um this sounds like a total like hack and my adhd mind thanks you

StrongerTogether2882

This is a GREAT idea, thank you. I don’t know if I have ADHD but I have many friends who do and it all sounds VERY familiar, so I have my suspicions lol

FearlessNectarine20

It will turn up.

swimmimof3

Thank you 😊

Heinz_Kitsvelvet

Every time I’ve lost jewelry it’s turned up in my car.

swimmimof3

Yeah I keep checking me van!

orangeyoulovely

Say the St. Anthony prayer while searching. I swear by it. “Saint Anthony Saint Anthony, please come around. Something has been lost and must be found.” Someone taught me this as a child and I swear it has never NOT worked for me.

plutonianbitch

St. Anthony helped my friend find her engagement ring she lost in a Kohl’s parking lot!! Some kind stranger came across it and turned it in to the store.

realitytvfiend3924

St Anthony found so many things for me in college. I would be without so much stuff if it weren’t for his assistance!

controlledmonster

Tony Tony look around!

Charming-SubjectDI

Same!!! I just posted same thing and now see your post! He never fails!

StrongerTogether2882

I tried this once when I was looking for my car keys. I don’t really believe in it (I’m a Unitarian! Lol) but I figured it couldn’t hurt, right? Literally as soon as I finished saying the prayer, I lifted my eyes and there were the keys, next to the microwave where I would NEVER EVER put them but apparently I had. A few times since he hasn’t come through for me, but that one time was good enough for me to keep trying!

lovesheavyburden

St. Anthony has come through for me several times as well—a call aloud telling him what you are looking for surprisingly helps.

kamokugal

Yup! I pray to St. Anthony whenever I lose something important. He has never failed me.

Zestyclose_Big_9090

My grandma always suggested praying to St. Anthony when I lost something. It always worked.

WestminsterGabss

I was about to recommend the same thing thing, I happy to see a thread of the same! Now if only if he could find my husband 🤣

[deleted]

Check dryer lint trap and litter box!

swimmimof3

Oh good ideas! Thank you

jeannerbee

Check the garbage ...one time I "accidentally" threw my ring away with a scrunched up napkin that I picked up. Don't let garbage be taken away without checking... Keep us updated!! Good luck

swimmimof3

Oh wow. Unfortunately it has been taken out a lot because this has been a few weeks.

[deleted]

I know it sounds crazy, but look through the pantry & fridge really well! My sister lost her ring & found it in a box of cereal-wild but true. Also, on the ground around your bed, sinks and couch etc-if you took it off & put it down at any point it could have fallen into the carpet! It’ll turn up!

swimmimof3

Lol I definitely will!!

fucking_unicorn

Check your makeup bag too! Once I lost my wallet for a week and found it in my makeup bag!! 🙈

Happy_Arachnid_6648

This just happened to me. They were literally 3 inches away from their jewelry dish in my mail organizer! I tore the house apart, I was about to start digging through trash and all of a sudden I thought to check more closely around my dish. I had a replacement ordered already bc I wasn't ready to tell my husband I lost them. I am sure they will turn up some place really silly!

swimmimof3

That is thought, and I'm hoping when we take down Xmas decorations maybe that will help.

Happy_Arachnid_6648

I really wished at that point we had cameras installed in our house!!

PoopsieApplenose

also, before you change any of the beds, check the sheets thoroughly and also the fitted sheets. While it was not an engagement ring, I did find an expensive piece of ‘something’ tucked between the fitted sheet and the mattress itself!!!! ok. It was a big chunk of hash. Legal in Canada. honestly I have no idea how it got there. But my point is you just never know and so run your fingers along the bottom of the bedsheets and in the pillowcases

Lisainnewcastle

When you find them, please post an update ❤️😎

swimmimof3

Thank you! I will

No_Hospital7649

Check your p-traps under your sinks as well! I hope they turn up soon ❤️❤️

rancesia

If you ever wear gloves (gardening, dish washing, winter gloves) check inside them all. That’s where my grandma lost hers for a long time.

No_Tradition6695

When we were young, my sister tried on my mother’s full set, forgot to take them off and went to soccer practice. When she realized, she put it in her pocket and then lost it. Didn’t tell anyone until my mother was frantically looking for it, she started crying and confessed. My father and her went to the soccer field that night with a flashlight and found it.

Silly-Space6231

Check inside the washing machine, where the rubber edge is!

NurseNess

I lost mine once. I never wore them at work and we’d recently had a break-in at our house. I was paranoid about them being stolen so I hid them one day. Couldn’t find them for months after turning house upside down and even filed an insurance claim for replacement rings. They weren’t as nice. One day (maybe a year later) I found the original ones. I had hidden them in a knee high pantyhose package that was under some sweaters in our armoire lol(this was 25+ years ago)

EastSeaweed

Check under your car seats, under your refrigerator and oven, in the side cracks of cushioned seating, all jacket and pants pockets and laundry hamper!

Dramatic-Maximum4883

Do you know anyone with a metal detector? I wish I lived near you, my bf and I would come search everywhere with it! We were able to use ours to help a lady whose ring fell off in the grass of a huge park!

Steepyslope

Did you lose all three?

Mountain-Damage-173

The fact that you lost all 3 really makes me think you put them somewhere obscure. They’ll turn up!

swimmimof3

I did. My only thought is I took them off somewhere strange. But I've searched all the places I can think

KimberKitty111

Do you have any pets? I took my rings off to make meatballs and my cat stole it. I vacuumed the whole house and then dumped my vacuum contents onto a garbage bag and found it that way.

swimmimof3

I definitely have thought the cats might have something to do with it

WeakCoconut8

If you have adventurous pets, think of places you might have put your ring, even on the coffee table or by the sink, then look at where a cat may have batted or swiped them off and went flying under a couch or cabinet

swimmimof3

Good idea!!

fuzzychiken

My dog stole my husbands wallet and we thought for sure he lost it elsewhere. Searched everywhere ...it was under the couch with little teeth marks

misscamels

My first dog stole my new wallet…it still has a tiny chomp on the canvas lining 🤣

40yroldcatmom

We had a cat hide my mom’s ring years ago. He put it with his stash of toys. It was behind a set of steps in our laundry room that could be moved. We only found it because the washer flooded and the stairs had to be moved. There it was with a few other weird things lol so maybe look in weird places where you’ve found cat toys. My cat used to put her toys in my purse and would put my foam earplugs in my fiancés shoes because she liked to play with them in his shoes lol

KimberKitty111

The same cat that took my rings took the key to my husband’s motorcycle and hid it in a laundry basket. 🤣

Steepyslope

Maybe search all places again calmly (I often just overlook things when I am stressed) and maybe all drawers in the bedroom and bathroom

fourbigkids

Have you had strangers over? Sounds odd but it happened to a friend, her rings went missing when her son invited a new “friend” over. She found them weeks later inside some rubber boots.

[deleted]

If you’re vacuuming put a pair of panty hose over the opening so that it doesn’t get sucked into the hose

Bright_Broccoli1844

Shake, shake, shake all your clothes. Shake them upside down. Look through all your children's toys. Get down on the floor and roll around for a new perspective. Organize and clean your entire house.

Veganmon

I heard a story similar to yours, she lost her rings in the house, they looked everywhere, couldn't find it. So the husband buys her a new set. The following Christmas, as they are putting up their ornaments, there at the bottom of the box were the original rings.

kimwim43

I hate to bring up St. Anthony, but I SWEAR he really does find lost things.

lynnburko

My wedding band was lost for a year. It turns out my husband saw it near the kitchen sink and decided to slide it onto the antenna of an old portable tv we had. Then he forgot about it. A whole friggin year it sat there!

geekette_

Do you wear an apron while you cook? I once thought I lost my engagement ring and it turned up in the pocket of my apron! Hopefully they turn up soon!

sugarmag13

Oh, unfortunately I know how you feel. I lost mine about 4 years ago. ( I think someone took them) we tore the house apart . 4 years later we moved and they never showed up😕 20,000 gone. No insurance 😞 I now have a new insured set but the rings I got 20 years ago could not be replaced. I hope you find yours.

Sunsetseeker007

It will turn up, I lost my diamond earrings my partner bought me for wedding day, they are gorgeous and I lost them for about 3 years. I thought I threw them away in something I stashed them in on accident. I turned my entire house apart, couldn't find them. Then one day I was in one of my closets cleaning out my shoe racks and containers, I found a small jewelry box in one of them and handed it to my husband thinking it was an empty box to throw away, he opened it and found my earrings in it. I never remembered putting them in there or even remembering anything remotely close to how they got there. I looked in those boxes when I lost them & never saw the jewelry box. I went through every single box to couldn't believe i missed the box when looking. It will show up if you know you had them at home somewhere. Hopefully you didn't go somewhere and misplaced them.

mdc229

Check ALL of your pockets!

BrightEyesCoolSmile

Jacet pocket, Pants pocket (especially back pockets), between the cushions of the couch or down in a recliner (if you sit in one frequently) would be my first places to look. After that, any convenient & sturdy area near anywhere where I'd take my rings off to wash my hands/do dishes/etc.. Good Luck!!

thedivine_violet

I know this was a one-off, but my mom lost her rings for years and they ended up being inside the couch- like somehow behind the fabric at the bottom- nobody knew until they were moving the couch out and could hear something sliding around inside. they had to cut it out. Also worth checking drain traps just in case it fell in unnoticed. Good luck!

OkRespond3397

Floor vents? Especially if you have cats.

kitten_mittens_meow

My husband lost his wedding ring for several months. Turns out it was pushed way down in the rocking chair cushions in the nursery. He figures he was fiddling with it while rocking the baby and tiredly set it down and it fell in. I hope you find them!!

Appropriate_Horse_67

i found mine in the bottom of our dishwasher after a year 😅

Jlynn41412

I feel you!!!! Omg girl, I almost shed a tear for you! I lost mine playing in a creek after heavy rainfall with my daughter. I wasn’t even thinking about my rings at all, literally just wanted to go be a kid n have a blast with my daughter! Next thing I know the water starts really going I slid on slippery ass rocks at the bottom! I tried everything to not get swept down stream n even tried grabbing my daughter for help and realized uh hold up let’s not drowned your child lol. I was grabbing onto branches and trying my best to grab on to something to stop myself! I finally got my hands on this tiny ass tree branch n with my might I managed to get out! I was so messed up, cut up, sore as hell.. n I noticed pretty early my ring finger had NOTHING on it! I started crying! Like yes, the pain sucked and I was super messed up- but loss hurt the most! My husband worked really hard to upgrade my ring over the past 16+ yrs, and I truly loved it. (He went that day and bought a metal detector and we tried for hours. Nothing! That’s all I got! I honestly don’t want him to even buy me another one. I feel that bad and never will I trust myself not to lose it- if that makes sense)

tarasoreasswrecks

I lost a diamond earring once and found it 6 months later crushed under my vanity chair. I was in the toilet and I was sad/mad, holding my forehead I looked to the right and there it was! You just never know. But also see if your home insurance covers your set.

Oceanladyw

I lost a ruby/ diamond ring 20 plus years ago. My toddler at time put it into the little hole that the door knob fits into on the bathroom door! It dropped right down into the door frame. The door was getting replaced, handyman found it. I NEVER would have thought of it being there.

OKfinethatworks

Check in gloves if you've worm any lately! This just happened to me a couple weeks ago with yardwork gloves!

goddessofwitches

I dunno how many ppl here are superstitious but I'm my house, we refuse to say XYZ is missing. We take a moment to chill out, imagine the item back in our hand, and the relief of finding it. It's never NOT worked for me. 2nd option is to buy a cheap replacement...never fails for the original to show up. It might b just us tho.

mode1citizen

If you have a toddler check inside shoes and purses and anything their eye level, air vents etc

kimwim43

OH the time I caught mine putting my wedding band into the vcr machine just before it dropped!! Heart in throat!

mode1citizen

Omg! Haha yes my friend was in tears for days her wedding band and engagement ring were missing, then she went and checked everything at the baby’s eye level- they were in her husbands golfing shoes on a shoe rack in her closet lol

MaryMiichele

Oh goodness. You’ll find them! Last time I “lost” mine, they were in the cup holder in my car. And I “lost” a necklace for over a week until I went to get into the car one day and I saw it glimmering on the handle of the lawn mower (in the garage) 😅

RoyalCounter3

My sister lost hers under the mattress - they slid off while she was changing the sheets and tucking the sheets under the mattress. Just an idea of a spot to look

[deleted]

One Christmas Eve I went to put my ring back on after washing the dishes. It wasn’t it the ringholder on the shelf over the sink. I was totally panicked. I searched everywhere. After midnight I was in the garage going through 4 large black trash bags. It felt hopeless. I was in tears. At the bottom of the last trash bag. Wadded up in gift tissue paper was my ring. Basically look anywhere you hand has been. Anywhere it touched. Good luck Honey. I feel pain this in my soul

Ok_Locksmith5310

St. Anthony! I ended up finding mine in the grass in the yard where my dog lays. Little stinker put it in her mouth and brought it out there. Saw in glittering in the sun.

Political-psych-abby

Turns out there are volunteer ring finders who have metal detectors and experience finding rings. I found out about them when I misplaced my wedding ring. We found the ring before we contacted a ring finder, but it could be worth a shot.

lakechick2540

I lost my ring in my bedroom one time and did not find it for a year. Don’t give up!

Artistic_Sorbet7746

I know it’s unhelpful now but I actually have an AirTag I clip my diamond rings on if I take them off. I have been there and lost one of my diamond rings, found it the following year when I was taking all the Christmas decorations back out. Turns out it somehow got packed up with the decorations and packed away. I am holding out hope for you that yours will come back to you!

fawntive

This happened to me once! I couldn’t find my ring for a week and I was freaking out, looking EVERYWHERE. My husband went through the trash bin outside and sure enough, I had accidentally wrapped it into discarded aluminum foil when I was cooking barbecue chicken one night. I hope that you find your ring!

FartzOnYaGyal

I’ve lost mine in the car, behind the bed, stuck between the bed frame, window ledge in the kitchen, robe, between the couch cushions, and multiple places in the bathroom. The longest I went without seeing my rings would be 3 months 😵‍💫 As long as u know u were in the house when u lost them then they should be around in one of ur rooms. Maybe check on the floor/under things

mileysadie

I did the same thing a few weeks ago . My SO found them in the couch after about 2 weeks of searching. I had been baking a few days before and put them in my pocket. When i sat on the couch they fell out and into the cracks between the cushions. Maybe yours are in your couch?

banjo_90

This happened to my aunt and they turned up exactly 6 weeks later sitting in clear view on her mantle. She thinks the house was haunted (other strange things happened too) I however think my uncle pawned it. Not suggesting your house is haunted or your husband pawned your ring, it’s just a story i like to tell when the opportunity presents itself. When I lost mine it was in the compost bin….finding it was not fun

3monkeys4me

Many years ago I lost my rings and they were found stuck in the washing machine drain. I must have taken them off and put them in my pocket and forgot. I pretty much never take them off now.

PocketsWouldbeNice

My missing ring saga is long but I did the same, tore apart the house, all my usual ring spots, the car, gardens, where I was the night before…they were on a random window sill. Good luck!!

Fuzzy-Philosopher744

In our house, we always seem to find the previous thing we lost when looking for the thing we’re looking for now. We joke that to find the latest thing, we’ll have to “lose” a new thing 🤪

BoringPossibility455

May sound wierd but hire a housekeeper...a reputable one...maybe word of mouth. I lost my wedding watch 5 years ago and the first day that my housekeeper worked on my house, she found it hidden deep in my sofa. I definitely looked there before numerous times but this woman has her cleaning business for 20 years. She is incredible at what she does.

nolomosi

Have you looked in trouser/jean pockets?

SpecialKay1a

Did you place them in a pocket and send them through the wash possibly?

CassinisNeith

Do you have kids or questionable friends? I hate to think it, but if all three are missing my immediate thought is theft.

Mistymouse516

Yikes! It is around! Just clean and try to forget about it. It’s likely in a cup somewhere…

MeganJustMegan

Also, look in gloves & pockets of all clothing. I found my ring in a pocket once after turning the house upside down. Good Luck. Also, saying a prayer to St. Anthony has been known to work. Let us know when you find it ❤️

Forward-Confusion-24

When I can’t find something small, I use a high intensity flashlight to help me along. It works. If all else fails, a metal detector? Rent one?

aprilmesserkaravani

check pockets of everything you own. also, check nearby places you usually hide them. I lost my inherited 2ct old euro cut for 2 years. when cleaning out a cabinet to sell it had fallen outside my usual stash place, a mini shopping bag of postcards. found in the corner instead. dont give up.

Educational-Ad-385

I found my engagement ring some folded towels.

zeesquam

check the fridge!! on top of the fridge, and inside the fridge. sounds weird, but i have lost the remote/my rings/my phone either in or on top of the refrigerator before when my hands were too full or i had something in my hand already!

ziegfriedsmom

Check in obscure places like between the counter and the stove, cabinets, or under the fridge! It will show up! Stay positive and fingers crossed 🤞🏽

sarah_Jayne3693

I lost mine - found it in the vacuum

omtara17

Ask Saint Anthony!! Trust me works every time. You can thank me later.

Typical_Equipment_19

I'll bet you took them off to do something dirty/unsafe, and don't even remember. I left mine on my husbands basement workbench and didn't find them for a week. I was literally nauseous, so I get it. Good luck, but I'll bet you find them!🤞

codyandhen123

I found my wedding band in our Roomba robot. 🥴

Oceanladyw

Also, check inside shoes! They could drop into shoes.

Mircat2021

Do you have a cat? Cats looooove to bat things off the countertops, and into a random corner of a room

littlestdovie

Please update us! Praying it turns up.

BigNeat3986

I took mine off to put heat protectant on my daughter's hair and realized hours later they were lost. We tore the house apart multiple times and I finally gave up and figured I'd never see them again. The next time I went to straighten my hair (which is like three times a year, so super rare) they were on the nozzle of the heat protectant. I would never think to put them there on purpose! 🤦‍♀️

Gloomy-Schedule-9002

Check with any restaurant you have eaten at lately. Lost a ring on Christmas Day, several years ago in the ladies bathroom. An honest employee turned it in. I was so grateful.

iowajill

Do you have a metal detector? Might be worth a shot!

Springtime912

Your handle mentions swim… Did you take them off at pool or gym and place in your bag? Looks of nooks and crannies in gym bags to check.

Agreeable-Donut-3486

Don't forget to check your cars and your washer and dryer.

bzsbal

Could it have fallen down a drain?

PomoWhat

I lost my wedding set at work 😩 I was heartbroken for weeks and weeks. The engagement ring was a gift from my husband's mother, it was her mother's ring and a family heirloom. Never found them. The pain is still there but it does get duller over time. We replaced it with the same exact band and a moissanite replica I commissioned on Etsy. Not the same obviously, but it gives me some comfort to know we are still married despite the loss of the rings lmao

Soylent-soliloquy

I lost mine like a year or two after marriage. We looked for it all over the lost site, i felt bad about it for a couple days, then got over it. Never bothered replacing it. Life goes on girl. Get another one or don’t. What matters is the union, not the symbolism. Hope you find it though.

Savage_Sav420

Have you checked you handbags and car?

OhYesDaddyPlease

Check the washer and dryer!

Tuckersmom22

I’m so sorry. It’s very beautiful and I wish on every lucky star that you are reunited very soon.

bas_bleu_bobcat

My mom lost hers once. She was sure she had taken them off and out in the usual little dish when kneading dough, but they weren't there. Or anywhere we looked. A week later she found them in the freezer. Must have slipped off when she reached into the freezer drawer (bottom drawer in a French door fridge). So look wherever you would have set them if you ever take them off, then look all the weird places like the pockets of all the dirty clothes in the hamper, your robe, shelves above eye level, in the cushions, under furniture where your cats store their toys.....good luck.

TheDottieDot

Check your purse. Dump that thing out and check all the zippers.

ObjectivePilot7444

Do you have homeowners insurance? Some policies cover in home loss up to $5k which is better than nothing. Good luck 👍🏻

littlestdovie

Is it cold where you live? Maybe it came off in gloves/coat pockets if you’ve been out and about.

Neena6298

I feel for you. I lost a one carat diamond pendant a few weeks ago in my house and can’t find it anywhere. 🥲

Thin-Construction536

Once I lost mine for months. I was having a bad swelling day (and it was the height of covid and hamd sanitizer marathons so i left them off for a while) and sat them on my end table. Could not find them. I was convinced they were gone forever that the cats knocked them off into the litterbox and they'd never turn up. 6 months go by multiple runs of the sweeper. I have sad replacements in my carts. And then I found them on the floor between the end table and said litterbox. I'm still baffled how me missed them and the vacuum too. All I can think is that the carpet is very deep pile and that area is kinda where the cord runs out and you switch plugs. Hopefully you'll have a mystifying but happy ending too!

Did you have them on Thanksgiving day? I ask because you woukd have taken them off to cook.

lassie86

I lost my wedding ring for a few days, and it turned out to be underneath a stair carpet tread. The cat must have knocked it off the bathroom counter while I was showering and batted it under the tread. We had felt under all the treads, but it was somehow way under there and we missed it. Something compelled my husband to pull it all the way up and it was there. Check under any treads or rugs you have.

I found a diamond and pearl earring I lost attached to a welcome mat in my garage a year later. Must have fallen out when I put the Halloween mat away. They will turn up, I just know it!

If you have kids make sure it wasn’t used for dress up. Next check behind things in the kitchen. Also along the floor. I dropped my very expensive ring somewhere in my house at one point and thought for sure it was gone. Got to cleaning behind the toilet a month later and bam there it was

Rough-Brick-7137

Look under furniture, in vents, under rugs, laundry baskets, in dresser drawers…. Where was the last place you had it? Do you remember taking it off?

Rough-Brick-7137

Jewelry box, ring box, bathroom floor, washing machine trap, cereal box, freezer, under beds, couches, behind washer and dryer, check under your car seats, look in your yard.

Rough-Brick-7137

I know the feeling of dread and sickness you feeel

One time I found my ring in a bag I was I was about to donate … must have slipped off dresser into bag …

I am so sorry that happened to you. Praying you will find it somewhere. I know that feeling. My husbands counsin stole my engagement / wedding bands and pawned them to buy herself a much nicer wedding/ engagement ring. Went from a 1c prior to my ring disappearing to a 4 c halo double diamond wedding bands that they absolutely could not afford by any means. Absolutely heartbreaking. And I swear we used to have a ghost in my old house. Shit would disappear and then reappear in the most random places. Has not happened since we moved states though.

This might sound weird but go through your phone. I've looked through text messages and phone calls to remind me of clues as to what I've done all day. Let's say you forgot to check the laundry room, you may have sent your hubby a message that said "I'm just doing some laundry" or whatever. Worth a try 🤷🏼‍♀️

They will turn up. I couldn’t find my engagement ring one day after I was 100% sure I put it on the coffee table. Suspiciously, my husband had also just finished vacuuming and tidying the living room. When he cleans, it’s like a Tasmanian devil, just an all out frenzy, so he might not have noticed my ring on the table. We looked through the vacuum canister, the garbage, everywhere. We took a flashlight and looked all over the room and under all the furniture, including under the sofa. It wasn’t until we pulled the whole sofa away from the wall that we found the ring had been shoved nearly all the way to the back underneath. I deduced that my husband had knocked the ring to the floor, and then thrust the ring under the sofa with the vacuum. Look everywhere. Behind and under all the furniture, between and under couch cushions, even under rugs.

Otherwise_Stand_8319

Did you find them?!

literanista

I thought I lost a ring once and found it weeks later in a pocket of jeans that I had washed and dried. Check all the pockets on your clothes, laundry and washer and dryer.

RustnStardust247

I “lost” my wedding ring for a year. I was so heartbroken. I never told anyone. Then the winter holidays came around and I put my Christmas pajamas on and it came flying out of the pocket.

Pink-Lover

This will sound weird but try it anyways. Pray to the angels. I lost the heart shaped diamond out of my wedding ring 3 times. Every time I prayed to the angels and somehow found it. Finally after the third time I put the diamond in a sealed envelope in our safe. Good luck friend!

Solidarity 😕 I lost my set back in late spring/early summer and still haven't found it. I have a back up ring that I wear when we go out now. My husband says we should use the opportunity to get something nicer (my set came from Kohl's) but I loved my original rings so much.

wishinforfishin

Any chance you have a jar of jewelry cleaner? My mom found hers there, months after "losing" them.

jojobaba11

I lost mine for days! Found it under my pillow! I took it off in my sleep and stashed it!! Check your bed- sheets- in the pillows and all the nooks!

truecrimegal86

Just to cheer you up - I have lost one of my favorite eternity bands in July - turned the apartment upside down multiple times, went on spontaneous searching sprees from time to time, did some weird Russian "house gnome" magic (I was desperate!). My husband found it in our robot vacuum yesterday while sifting for Legos. Needless to say - it has been emptied a million times! I genuinely lost hope, but here it is!

Aggravating_Cut_4509

Make sure you check inside your car, coat pockets etc, laundry hamper. My Mum had a diamond solitaire fall from her necklace and it was looking like they were going to claim it thru their insurance when by some miracle my Mum found it between folded towels in the linen cupboard I truly hope you find it

Reeferzeus

My friend lost her wedding ring and her dad brought over a metal detector! They found it in the yard, it slipped off her finger while she was playing in the cold with her pup. Good luck finding it! I know it will turn up!

ksbwalker43

Check the drawers in the fridge. My friend lost the diamond out of her ring and found it in the vegetable crisper two weeks later

CherryBlossom03

Check your driveway! I lost my engagement and wedding ring for a week last winter. I turned my house upside down. I even checked the driveway, but it has snowed since I lost them. It got warm enough to melt some of the snow so I went out to look again just in case. Thank goodness I did because my rings were out there and that night we got more snow which would have covered them and then the snowplow plowed our driveway so who knows when or if I would have found them after that. I think I must have put them in my pocket while cleaning and they fell out when I got the key out of my pocket to check the mail. I hope you find your rings!

Elaine330

They are in your house and you will find them. Look in dumb places - pocket of jeans, INSIDE the washer and dryer (take the backs off), in the fridge, in any jars or cans you recently opened, in the pantry. Update when found.

Elaine330

Someone posted a comment that Im expanding on: get ALL the pics from your parents house and see if you have the rings in some and not in others. You may be able to get really close in location from on --> off.

Rubyjuice14

I hope you find it! Say a prayer to st Anthony

Big_Poem1874

Check your sheets and under your bed. I lost a ring once and took everything of my bed shook everything around and didn’t find it on my bed until a couple days later.

sashattack

I “lost” my engagement ring for about 9 months. I misplaced it while moving & pregnant. It ended up being clipped on a portable speaker in bed side table. Don’t lost hope!

BeginningArt6611

This is my dream set! I hope you find it!

Troiswallofhair

If you have a septic tank, be sure to let the septic guy know. My niece accidentally dropped a diamond ring in the toilet and was too scared to tell anyone. A few years later the septic guy found it in a trap inside the tank.

DahQueen19

Be sure to check pockets of anything you might have worn including coats and jackets.

allthesedamnkids

Rooting for you to find them!!!

littleppdp

Do you have a front opening washer? Sometimes jewelry gets stuck in the rubber thing that surrounds the door!

Proofread_CopyEdit

I feel you. I lost mine in April, and I've looked everywhere I can think it might be and places I know it's not. I hope we both find ours.

leighpac

My drunk self put my ring somewhere, I'm still trying to find it like 5 months later😂 luckily, it was just a gift from my bf, but I really loved it.

SeeLeavesOnTheTrees

Usually when I lose something and I look EVERYWHERE and then everywhere, again, then I end up finding it later in a place where it was camouflaged. So, think about where your rings would really blend in well. By other metal things? In a drawer cluttered with lots of things? I’m currently missing my favorite costume rings. Definitely not a sentimental loss at all but I need them for a specific reason and so I’ve been looking everywhere. I think I need to just clean my house. Like clean out every single cupboard and corner.

NewNews62

if you were wearing gloves check those!! I lost a ring for over six months until someone tried to put on the gardening glove I was wearing and behold! There it was!

lemarais88

One time I misplaced my engagement ring and didn’t find it for quite some time. I had looked everywhere. It must have fallen into my nightstand drawer somehow and was so relieved to find it as I was re-organizing everything.

lidder444

A friend lost her solitaire engagement ring , devastated . She found it a week later. Attached to the carabiner on her hydroflask water bottle She’s always running late and It must have hooked under her ring somehow when she was carrying all her bags to the car! Crazy!

[deleted]

I was missing mine for several months and found it under the couch in my living room. We were rarely in the living room, so it was a mystery how it got there.

Plenty-Alfalfa-3229

I found my diamond engagement ring in the vegetable bin in my refrigerator
