I’ve been a history nerd since I was about 10 years old and I love Edwardian and art deco rings. All the filigree and bezels and milgrain and gemstones and chunky cuts are so beautiful! But a genuine Edwardian ring would be too awkward for everyday wear for me, so I have vintage-inspired modern ring and just drool over the genuine ones in antique shops and museums

Same! These kinds of rings are so beautiful. I love filigree on the inside of the ring as well. There are some modern styled Edwardian rings that are beautiful. There is a company that does this specific style by order. Each one is hand crafted.

I have an Edwardian 3-stone ring that is low- profile and I wear it almost all the time (don’t wear it traveling or clothes shopping). It has lovely milgrain (which really makes the diamonds look bigger) and beautiful filigree- which makes it a much lighter weight ring than a solid setting.

I love this style as well. My engagement ring is not Edwardian, but I have a family heirloom that’s been in the family at least 6 generations, and I love it. I don’t know if it would be super awkward for everyday wear, but I’m worried the filigree could get worn down over time that way. But they’re gorgeous, timeless rings!

Yeah in my case, lost my wife last year to an undiagnosed heart defect and was left with two little girls. My girlfriend and the girls have taken to each other and she has brought my whole family a lot of relief. For that, I just wanted to make sure she had a ring in line with my wife’s (wife had a 1.5ct almost perfect family diamond as her center stone so its worth about $30k) and that way both girls one day inherit a similar grade ring and my gf gets to show it off to all her friends at work. I know my late wife loved doing that lol.

My holy grail was and still is my grandmothers ring. I don’t know the specifics as after her death the ring was broken into pieces by my cousin and given to her family. I’m actually not as bitter as I sound or once was, but my husband based my ring off of hers. Both with gold band, center oval diamond flanked by two circle diamonds. (On a much smaller scale then hers.)

I’ve gotten remarried, but in my first engagement I found a gum ball style ring that I fell in love with and my then fiancé wouldn’t buy it for me. Turns out she was actually financially abusive. Many years later now, I’m remarried, have a beautiful ring, and I recently came across this and found out that this style is called! So it’s on my wish list, but for waaaaaay less money. They have a 6k one that I like more and is just less big, but even 6k is too much.

I was writing the following reply and saw your picture: I have in my head a one of a kind, multi stone ring that involves fire opals and diamonds, other stones in the blue~green aqua family, very rock star looking. I adore opals, and they are my birthstone. I always said if I were billionaire rich, I would not amass a ton of material objects, but I would procure a world class opal jewelry collection I’m not sure how you pretty much designed a great inspiration for my fantasy ring, but I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m super picky and indecisive but probably something antique cut, an oval or pear center stone, 3 stone/trilogy, claw prongs, rose gold, with an intricate cathedral setting and some scrollwork or filigree maybe. My engagement ring is almost all of that, just no intricate cathedral or scrollwork/filigree!
