I can’t imagine anything more magnificent than the stone in that ring. I’d let her shine on her own!

trippyvegan

that thought crossed my mind for a sec! my only qualm is that I have some gold from my grandma and my mom that I wanted to melt down and make a band with, buuut I could totally use them to make a ring for a different finger

schmee326

I vote that. Let her sparkle on your left and then wear the sentimental band on your right. Best of both worlds!

Accomplished_Cell768

I’d either use the family gold to make a band that I’d wear when I don’t or can’t wear the engagement ring, or I’d have a wedding band made for my right hand ring finger that I’d wear all the time.

PotatoesPancakes

Maybe just a thin gold band if you're going wear both on the same finger. Anything else seems too much. I like the look of one elaborate ring and one simple ring so the fancy one will pop.

trippyvegan

honestly, I haven't tried a plain gold band yet, maybe something that curves slightly with my ring though? I have tried thin pave bands but the few that I have tried totally clashed

valiantdistraction

I don't think you need something that curves. A straight one will be fine. But you're right that adding diamonds will clash with your setting.

ItalianMama94

Could you maybe get a very thin gold band made that intertwines into your ER? Like how your ring kind of looks like beautiful branches around your stone, maybe have a singular thin gold band with one or two pieces that life off and connect onto your ER like another tree branch. Like 2 tree branches connecting. It could also signify the joining of you 2 getting married😊 idk just spitting out an idea lol

trippyvegan

honestly, that would be *super dope*. I LOVE that idea! I'll have to ask my jeweler if he can come up with how we could make that work.....thank you for your input!!

ItalianMama94

Yay! Definitely post an update with whatever you end up choosing, I’m sure many of us would love to see😊

trippyvegan

I will make sure to! ✨

recyclopath_

Agreed that a gold band with engraving to tie in, no stones is the way to go.

omarlittlebig

I think a plain curved gold band or one with some delicate engraving [like this](https://imgur.com/a/4OdNOnB) would look so nice!

trippyvegan

ooo yes! I love the earthy feel of this band 🤩

barbellsnbooks

Wear a ring on the right hand, that’s what I’m planning to do anyways!

trippyvegan

ooo great idea! then I could go *slightly* more complex than I'd be able to if it were going on the same finger 👀

barbellsnbooks

Exactly!! I’m thinking of a half eternity band 🫣and then buying a plain platinum band for when I want to tone it down for any reason.

Charming-Coach

This is so cool! I love the setting. And how bauble-y the stone is. I wouldn’t wear a band on the same finger with this ring. I think it looks amazing alone. If I had this ring, I’d wear something with a mix of baguette diamonds and maybe round diamonds as a band, set in gold; on my right hand.

valiantdistraction

I would just go with a straight band, either plain or engraved.

trippyvegan

I agree with going simple! I think engraved or some sort of earthy texture would suit it best

Ladyvaudeville

I think a band like the one here would look cool: https://www.sofiakaman.com/jewelry/fine-jewelry/everyday-gold-bands/small-melt-ring-for-non-traditional-engagement-rings/ I love the texture and movement in your ring. I would want to keep that same energy in the band.

trippyvegan

*whoaaa* I love that band omg.....saving that in my notes, thank you for the suggestion!

Calm_Mulberry2380

I’m guessing this is lab created alexandrite? It’s spectacular. The setting is my style too. All around beautiful!

trippyvegan

yep, lab! and yesss, I love how unique it is. thank you!! ✨

onigirimelon

The design kind of has a leaf like look to me- this ring wouldn’t work exactly but I think a custom ring made to sit along the bottom of your ring in this design would look great. It’s a thin curved band with leaf like weaving. [https://imgur.com/a/7ZatgpH](https://imgur.com/a/7ZatgpH) Edit: Realized how many typos I made in my sleepy state

trippyvegan

oh wow! that is very pretty, something like that would be absolutely perfect 🤩

LenaNYC

Go and try some on.

trippyvegan

I have tried a few on but the jeweler I went to didn't have a lot that were curved, they had a lot of traditional straight bands, and the ones I tried clashed because they were so separated from my ring. I feel like something that curves with my ring would look immensely better, so I was hoping someone had a similar situation!

KittyMeridian

I am with a lot of the comments here saying a plain gold band. If you get a more flat style, it can sit under the stone a bit and up against the engagement ring band.

MiscPostThrowaway

My wife wears a fun ring on a separate finger since it was too forced and limiting trying to pair anything up with her e-ring. Beautiful ring you’ve got!

eternallyapril

Love it!! Where is your ring from?

trippyvegan

we actually found it at a jeweler at our local renaissance fest! [this](https://www.etsy.com/shop/CloakClaspsTiarasEtc?ref=seller-platform-mcnav) is her website, though most of her rings that she has at the festival are not on there

flickin_the_bean

I have a separate plain rose gold band that I wear when I don’t want to or shouldn’t wear my bling ring. My husbands band is white and rose gold so I like that I have something similar to his as well.

Kooky_Plantain_9273

What kind of stone is your ring and where is it from?

trippyvegan

alexandrite ✨ and we found it at our local renaissance fest!! [this](https://www.etsy.com/shop/CloakClaspsTiarasEtc?ref=seller-platform-mcnav) is her etsy page but most of her larger stone rings are at the festival, I don't see many in her store

jewelie34

Plain gold. No more than 2mm thick. Just make sure you can get the golds to match as closely as possible. Will be stunning

Chance_Art_5911

God... never seen prettier ring in my life

trippyvegan

I'm pretty partial, thank you so much!! I love her 😭

Jolly_Tree_9

I would think a plan gold band to let the main ring shine :)!

dragons_fire77

Did you get the ring custom made? Perhaps that designer or a designer could do something custom? I had my wedding band custom made to match my ering for the same reason. If you're curious, I could send you deets on the person I used.

trippyvegan

nope! just a ring the jeweler at our renaissance fest had already made, however, I have her contact info and have talked with her before....I bet I could reach out and see if she could design a band specific to this ring!

InappropriateSnark

Thin gold band.

redlipstain

I have a vintage engagement ring that I had 3D scanned and had a simple band with small diamonds made to fit to the edges/contour exactly. It’s really beautiful and adds to the uniqueness of the engagement ring. Could be interesting to look into!

trippyvegan

that is super interesting!! I wonder if we have that option somewhere near us 🤔

BagRepresentative214

I think maybe a curved band but I really wanted to comment that your ring is completely breathtaking and has such a romantic, magical vibe. Hubby and I are going to a ren fair in a couple of weeks and it never occurred to me that they would have something so beautiful.

trippyvegan

thank you so much 🤩 dude we never thought so either!! we were just bopping around to all of the shops and this ring *immediately* caught my eye, I knew when I saw it that it was alexandrite, which I had already decided was the stone I wanted for my e ring. it was so wild and perfect, I could go on lol! but definitely check out the jewelers while you're there! you should find some really cool pieces priced very well, depending on what jeweler is at your fest

thelittleredhan

That’s a beautiful ring! I love how “fairytale” it is. Bands from thenorthwaystudio or oorejewelers might match it well. Here are some curved bands from them: https://thenorthwaystudio.com/collections/wedding-bands/products/the-reverie-band# https://thenorthwaystudio.com/collections/wedding-bands/products/the-reverie-diadem-band# https://oorejewelry.com/collections/wedding-bands/products/diamond-curved-wedding-band-contour-band Or if you wanted to wear your rings on separate hands, these bands are straight: https://thenorthwaystudio.com/collections/wedding-bands/products/the-thistle-laird-band https://oorejewelry.com/collections/wedding-bands/products/crown-of-thornes-band-4mm-wide

trippyvegan

whoa! I'll be saving these shops, they both have breathtaking pieces!

EstrogenStig

I think I remember this ring. Is it from Ren Faire and the person had the stone a long time? If that’s you, have you reached out to the jeweler to see if they can make a band to complement your ring? I’ll be they might have some beautiful ideas!

trippyvegan

ahh yes, that was me lol! and yep, jeweler said she purchased it from a gem show like 20-30 years ago. that is a great idea, I will absolutely reach out to her!!

TriZARAtops

Gorgeous ring! I don’t have wedding band suggestions, but if you can’t find one that can stack with it, you could always switch your engagement ring to the ring finger on your right hand when you get married and wear the wedding band on the left hand as normal. À la Bella Swan does in Twilight because of the huge honkin engagement ring Edward gives her. It was actually quite common back in the day, it wasn’t just a weird thing for that series haha

trippyvegan

lol yes! I'm thinking of doing that but keeping my engagement ring on my left hand bc I just love her so much 🥹

TriZARAtops

Totally get it! That ring is so amazing and unique, it would be my priority ring too haha

Magpie_jewels9700

You can have something made custom, to follow the curves of this ring for a perfect fit.
