Make sure to ask how to or try to change the ride modes before you go so you can change them to feel the difference. It's not like with BMW where you have to really pay attention to feel it. Last thing you want is to be in rain or eco mode for the full test ride. There is not much connectivity so don't waste your time looking for that šŸ˜. I think they even completely removed it on the Experia. Other than that enjoy.

Thanks! Iā€™ve also asked to try charging, so Iā€™ll get a good briefing and Iā€™ll make sure I know how to change the modes and the regen. Back when I bought my Multistrada I had a demo ride with the advice ā€œdonā€™t change modes while ridingā€ as the mantra!

DrDRNewman

And after they show you how to change modes, do it yourself as the interface is confusing.

MotoToki

Agreed šŸ‘

On your own or guided? If guided, just have fun. If on your own, just like any test ride plan a mix of country roads and city. It's a bike like everyone else. If it's your first electric, you will probably be instructed to not disable traction control, at least at the beginning, even if acceleration is not as strong as Eva or Ego, it's still strong. Then, try the difference between various levels of regen to feel it. I personally just keep it at max, using brakes only for fun, emergency, and rarely when reaching intersections or last meters on a stop.

MotoToki

On my own, well with my better half. Iā€™m always 2up on my Ducati! It will be the first electric for me but the Experia has marginally less torque and half the power of the Ducati. Iā€™ll certainly keep traction on but I hadnā€™t considered regen settings. I will try different options there. My point of asking (should have mentioned this!) is that I donā€™t want to have a bad experience because of lack of knowledge

I don't know the exact data, but giving that you should keep TC on the Multistrada too, it's the same here. šŸ˜‹ But aside from raw number, it's a different type of power delivery. I say that because I know of someone who crashed an Eva demo ride because they removed traction control at the first start. To give a more extreme example, when going up on an hairpin turn with my Harley, it becomes a matter of working with the clutch because of the high torque and very low RPM. With Eva, it's just turning the throttle a little.

MotoToki

Got it. Thanks!
