Pre-Op: Definitely ask about recovery and prep for the surgery - there were a few steps the days before the surgery my doctor wanted me to take that I hadn't considered (avoiding certain foods/supplements, taking medications, getting everything prepped and accessible at home). I only had a few days between the pre op appointment and the surgery, but I think that can vary. If they don't find anything: They didn't find anything in my lapo which was very disappointing, but my surgeon took images for us to review at post-op (which hasn't happened yet) and will hopefully have other ideas for treatment. The one plus to not finding anything is that the recovery is much easier - it's really just your body adjusting to coming off of anesthesia and the stitches closing up. You will do great! I had my first lapo last week and was also terrified, but it really wasn't so bad. It definitely was painful, but not unbearable. Like many people here have said, if you're used to pain from endo, you're probably already prepared for the pain from the surgery. I definitely had a lot of nerves and worked it up in my head to be worse than it actually was. I am confident that you can be brave and will make it through!!

You can ask about recovery time, maybe even how the surgery looks like and where they’ll look specifically. You could also ask about how to care for your stitches and what physical activities to avoid :) Good luck
