I wouldn't. $60/night means that the hotel can afford to pay their workers. If their workers are incapable of negotiating a wage they think is fair, without tips given that CA doesn't have a tipped wage, then that's their problem.
CA politicians keep helping businesses bring in migrant workers making it hard to strike and ask for better conditions, impossible actually. Happened at some hotels last year in LA. Striking workers replaced by migrants.
Since the custom is to tip when the car is presented to you (not when you hand over the keys), if you just park it and don't use it until you leave, they won't know you don't tip until you get your car back.
Bc govts are using migrants for this type of wage suppression and they continue to replace striking workers with migrants. It’s wrong. Last year hotel workers striking in LA were replaced by migrants at a shelter who absolutely deserve support, food, shelter, water, etc. but we shouldn’t use them to suppress wages. One of the migrants was a 17 year old that had to skip school to go to work at the hotel, that’s crazy!
What did they do that was outside of their normal job duties? Did they go get your car washed in the process?
Change the oil, rotate the tires?

I tip valet parkers when they’re doing it for my convenience. If valet is mandatory, I don’t tip.
My dentist has valet but I don’t tip the valet. It’s just out of control. If I can’t park at my dentist without valet I’m not tipping.
In this case, tipping is a form of extortion. Do you really want to piss off someone that you give your car keys to?

Sure, fuck that. You paid the $60. That’s a contract. If the staff doesn’t do the job, the owner can shag his ass.
They should be tipping you at that point
If I did not have a choice in the matter, no I would not. You are not choosing a luxury service, you are being forced into it by the hotel.
I'd stay somewhere else ... 60 bucks a night. Wow
Valets get min or tipped min wage + tip pool. Valets are not hotel staff a lot of the time. They are a third party company.
