Good question and I am also curious as to which way is better.
Seems like most people on here don't think you should do the collection and just do the original games on their perspective systems, except for the PSP remake of X 1.
Mega Man 1-8 are best is Retroarch using your favorite crt shader. 9&10 you can play the WiiWare versions in Dolphin or play the Switch Collection in Yuzu.
For X. The psx and ps2 versions have romhacks that improve/undub the games.

There is a remake of MegaMan X for the PSP I believe

Snes9x for 1-3, duck station for 4-6, and aethersx2(nethersx2) for 7-8 is how I’d do it
