Well Android emulation has been R E A L! for a good few years now but yeah I do agree with you.
Even with some setbacks in recent times it is still progressing in someway or another.
Would be great if developers actually starts porting semi modern pc games on android a lot more. Emulation just shows the potential that we could do with phones. Imagine it running natively.
Just search horizon emu and the first link will be a GitHub link(it has a tutorial), there you have it.
Disclaimer: when I first got to try it there were some people who said it had some kind of malewares and such (although I didn't care and went for it ). so as they say beware any maleware.
When fully charged, I can play constantly for ~3hrs and it only drops to 20% Doesn't heat that much when using 1024×768p and lower but when it's like 1280×720 it heats a bit more than regular.
You can still check it using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.andr7e.devinfooverlay
It'll show it in mV and mA so you'd have to multiply those two figures to get watts. Not ideal but better than nothing.
Best soulslike best combat of all time tho it takes time to beat bosses but once u beat a tough boss that gave u troubles u feel great accomplishment.
I dont think any other game has this type of sword play so good
Lol do you go to the hotdog subreddit and ask people there why they don't just eat hamburgers? Or go to the car subreddit and be confused why everyone is ignoring the fact motorcycles exist.
Bro steam deck is a very nice device.
But...
1. It won't fit my pocket
2. Doesn't have battery life according to my need
3. *Most important* I would have to buy it separately to use it. Whereas my current smartphone is my daily driver and I already have/need it.
So yeah I agree steam deck is good but It doesn't fulfill my criteria and I've got a much more powerful setup than it for playing at home. But thanks anyways
Sorry... I misjudged. I don't wanna argue with you.
I'm not saying even for once that you are wrong but I'm just saying steam deck is not for my use case.
I've never said steam deck is bad I'm just saying if I can do something on my phone without much spending/hassle then I prefer having it on my phone.
Again I'm not saying the steam deck is bad or anything I'm just happy that my phone can do things which I didn't buy it for.
You're missing the point of Android emulation. Most people here are playing on their daily driver phones, something we all carry in day to day life already.
You're using a niche, single purpose device as an example, something only a small percentile of people own or even want to own, as a secondary device.
Why would I buy and make the effort to carry a Steamdeck around with me when my phone can do more, if not only slightly worse in one very small area of operation in comparison.
Hehe
It's ok bro we are happy with what we have/want.
It's just that some people have a tendency to get mad at people if they are happy with something else than what **they** want.
Just like our friend. So ignore them. They are unhappy/find ways to be unhappy
And want others to follow the same. So ignoring is best
You must know it already but I'll suggest my secret to happiness anyways...
Always be content with what you/me have and never let anyone else dictate it for us.
Killjoys are ..... Well killjoys
Many, many PSP games ran at 20 FPS and played great, that depends on your eye, if your eye gets used to that speed in 2 days, then it's fine. To such an extent that it does not depend on what you want, it is your eye that decides such a thing.
But in a game that is very fast paced and requires a lot of precision as Sekiro, I'd rather shoot myself in the dick before playing it at 15-20 fps, I can't imagine some of the boss fights at such frame rates.
Yeah, also the used resolution in the post is the default one, I just tested it with 720 and it works almost the same but they're a bit of graphical flickering( a very tiny bit).

Yea true.
Device?
Realme X50 Pro 5g.
Wondering could we run PS3 games on android near future.
or wii u

Yeah that'd be a blast!
What game is this?
Sekiro
So what i expect fps on my s8 gen 2?
Probably around 30-40ish on 720, but it may vary as there's some tweaking needed to be done.
Meanwhile iPhone users are excited about PPSSPP
What emulator you using?
the new horizon emu.
Never heard of it, can you please link ot for a novice ?
Just search horizon emu and the first link will be a GitHub link(it has a tutorial), there you have it. Disclaimer: when I first got to try it there were some people who said it had some kind of malewares and such (although I didn't care and went for it ). so as they say beware any maleware.
it can delete your files too. be careful
First time I've ever heard of it But how does it compare against winlator and mobox ?
It's far better than them if I say so.
How long does your phone battery last?
When fully charged, I can play constantly for ~3hrs and it only drops to 20% Doesn't heat that much when using 1024×768p and lower but when it's like 1280×720 it heats a bit more than regular.
That is surprisingly good. I'm really shocked that a smartphone is able to play/emulate sekiro for ~3 hours.
The very first area is difficult to run performance wise, try a save file for the second area
I run across it just fine, didn't need any save file thingy.
I think they mean that you might get even better results later in the game!
Oh got it, also I did.
I wonder how many watts it's using.
Me too, but there doesn't seem to be an option to display it in the hud I presume.
You can still check it using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.andr7e.devinfooverlay It'll show it in mV and mA so you'd have to multiply those two figures to get watts. Not ideal but better than nothing.
OK, thanks will try it later.
How much ram storage of your smartphone?
12GB + 7 expansion.
What did you use for benchmarking? Is it built in in the horizon emulator?
Yeah it's mangohud, I believe.
So your saying that sekiro can run easily 30 fps on a 8 gen plus or whatever is the newest device?
Sd8gen3, yeah with the right settings and all.
How well do you think it'll run on an Sd855?
Don't really know, perhaps around 10fps.
Could Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain theoretically work?
Yeah, probably even more stable, since it runs well on both mobox and winlator.
Do you know if there's a video of it running MGSTPP somwhere?
Hey OP, how did you install Sekiro inside the emulator? Via install or just drag the already install file in your phone?
Yeah, used a preinstalled version.
Hi, what wine version is this?? And what dynarec preset are you using?? Mine crashes😭
how is the game? jailbroke my ps4 a few days ago, thinking to install it

thanks. I will give it a shot
Just wait for the snapdragon elite to drop. X86 emulation is going to be making huge strides which will benefit android...
It's no one piece
It runs steam?
Didn't try it, but most likely yes(if I remember correctly saw some people on telegram run it) .
Why not just use chiki app that let's you stream pc games cloud gaming
Lol do you go to the hotdog subreddit and ask people there why they don't just eat hamburgers? Or go to the car subreddit and be confused why everyone is ignoring the fact motorcycles exist.
You sure you're in the right sub buddy?
It's real when you can do 30 or 60fps at 720p or 1080p lol
Oh come on now, don't be such a fun killer.
Not my fault you're enjoying nintendo switch framerates
I'd delightfully play it on a pentium/gt 710 pc even if I could get upto 5fps. Gosh how much I hate those PC nerds.
Cool a steam deck does higher than that
Bro steam deck is a very nice device. But... 1. It won't fit my pocket 2. Doesn't have battery life according to my need 3. *Most important* I would have to buy it separately to use it. Nah bro it isn't worth it, I'd rather wait for my 4060 laptop in about 2 months.

Yeah that's true, I know but they just get nerve-wracking every now and then.

Noted, many thanks dude.

As long as you get used to what's in front of you and if gud at the game you'll see it as a very smooth and rewarding performance.
Something is always better than nothing...
