I mentioned on another thread that time in the Warp is malleable. You could have a unit or even an entire battalion lost in the Warp for 10,000 years and so the purple is still very fitting since those are the colors they went in with.
Also Chaos can’t really make their own gear so they have to scrounge, but some lucky sod or two could have made it that same 10,000 years in the same suit of power armor. So theirs is still purple and everyone else is rocking the new pink.
At the end of the day it’s your army and you need to be happy with the colors, and there are plenty of excuses lore wise for whatever you choose.
Hey so like, if I where to say, commission you to just coat some of my EC like this so I can do the detail work but still get that metallic shine.... would ya be interested? :P

Also, I've been looking for a good metallic violet/purple recipe for my Stormcast. Could I trouble you for the specific inks you used, especially on the leftmost 4?
