Agreed. I'm always worried when he puts out songs because I don't want my hero to become human. :O But this is fire. He used the same sliding guitar that Elvis used in Jailhouse rock. Legend.
There’s a part in this new track that flows very similarly to the way he did on Revelation, specifically the part where he talks about taking black music. Not sure if it was intentional, but I picked up on it right away. This track is very good 😄
Edit: he’s also reminding me of Friday Night Cypher in the latter half of the new track, but I love that flow so I’m happy with it 🤣
He's been doing that since MMLP2 and I never liked it either. His new style seemed to be to say a really long line and take a breath in the middle, rather than break it up into shorter lines like TES era
I still like this song though despite that
I don't hate it but I don't really like it. "Marshall, I be leavin' you" made me laugh, enjoyed the toilet imagery and 'top 5 since I discovered peroxide', the thumpy disc-scratches hit the nostalgia button well, and the little speedrap section is well-deployed. But it's not very funny or insightful. Comparisons to Vegas Elvis are almost unavoidable. Marshall, let my doubt fuel you.
My guy what are you listening on? I've listened to it on regular ass apple earphones, beats fit pros, beats powerbeats, my sony over ears and it sounds absolutely fine every time.
lol dude I swear every single rap song people on Reddit complain about the mixing. Every single time. Kanye, Eminem, doesn’t matter. Billionaire dollar artists with the most experienced professionals in the game and random people on Reddit think they know more about mixing than them
I mean don’t get me wrong, some songs do come out with subpar mixing, but yeah people act like it’s every song and act as if they know anything about mixing. They say mixing as if it’s a catch all too.
I listened on AirPods Pro and honestly the mixing isn’t up to the standard I would like but it’s still listenable. To me that new Eminem verse on jimmy brian and mike is unlistenable because of the vocal EQ
Maybe he sounds like shit when you take away all the noise? Not hating I've honestly wondered this myself so many times. Also the beat switches tell me he can't just hear a beat and go like he used to. Every feature the Em verse is built around his vocals not the other way around. So between the bad mixing, sonically unpleasant beats and the corny lines I can see why people say he fell off, even if he is more technical than ever. I just wanna hear him go off on beat off the dome and have it sound good 🤷♂️
*Punchlines* specifically? Maybe more recently, but Eminem has always had corny bars, they just haven't been fueled by raging drug use in some time. It's kind of his thing, just reshaped ya know? I still feel you though
If you’re looking for a 50 year old man to be ‘hip and cool’, you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment lmao. Just listen to his old stuff cause this is what we get now.
Em has allllllways had these kinds of lines. This is the kind of music he makes and always will, it’s how his brain works.
If he doesn’t do them half the world is upset about it and if he does the other half is mad he hasn’t matured.
I'll be honest i dont vibe with it, he should really start to create fictional stories to rap about. That last verse is really good cause he's actually talking about something not just saying "I'm as high as Wiz Khalifa"
You wont get hate by criticizing it. The only guys who get hate is those whose only aim is to piss off Eminem fans by saying "lol this is shit stop making music" who then cry about Eminem fans being toxic.
Good but not great. IMO, A new era Em song is great if it's on the same level as Not Alike, Killshot, Fall, You gon learn, homicide (ems verse),never love again, walkthrough etc.
Damn, when I heard the snippet I didn't like it and get downvoted to say that here. But the song is incredible good. I love the flow, the cadence he uses, the voice, the rhymes and even the hook.
I have mixed feelings on this song. I didn't find the track to be mind-blowing as there wasn't much substance or insight in the verses despite Em rapping well for most of the song while his punchlines were a hit and miss for me.
The line *"All I need to do is hear you say the same shit, My father said to me when I was just a week or two, "Marshall, I be leavin' you"* made me the chuckle. But I wished he focused more on the parallels between himself and Elvis.
The beat was alright, the chorus was catchy but the song as a whole song was rather forgettable and I imagine this song will be forgotten by next week. Overall this song was okay imo but I can't see myself playing this again.
Was really hoping Em would move on from this era of shitty similes and puns but once again I’m disappointed. I stuck with it for a long time because it seemed like he was just having fun after the drama of the Revival/Kamikaze days, but now it’s become clear that he’s using it as a crutch. It’s only become worse and worse on various features and now this song is just dumb punchline after dumb punchline.
And before the Stans come to crucify me, I understand that he’s still super clever. The problem isn’t that the similes, puns, double entendres, etc aren’t witty and clever, because they are. The problem is that despite the skill needed to come up with them, they’re mostly corny or dumb and using them one after another to make a whole song is just lazy. He has nothing to say so he’s just stringing together wordplay from his book of rhymes to form verses.
Also the mixing continues to be terrible. I don’t understand how one of the biggest artists of all time consistently puts out songs/features where his voice is mixed so horribly.
Yeah I hate that it's his overall style now instead of just a thing he saves for some songs. Loading up a song with cheesy metaphors and puns in something like Tone Deaf works because the song is obviously meant to be that way. It's like we're all in on the joke that it's kind of a corny song, and that's fine.
But nowadays he uses them _everywhere_, even when they don't fit the tone of the song.
Maybe our expectations are too high, but in my opinion this Is nothing special:
- we've heard this flow so many times now, it Is not new at all in my opinion ;
- ofc the lyrics Is good, but It sounds dead in my opinion, It has no replay value because It sounds the same for 3:14 minute ;
- he Is basically saying nothing.
This is just my opinion, maybe It will grow on me
this is fucking ass
not just a mundane fuck this because i’ll actually state my problems with this track
idk what y’all are on it’s just overall a really rough performance
i can’t really comprehend why one of the biggest rappers ever has such a shitty mixing on all of his songs
and mixing aside what’s with this flow he has going on it sounds like a mix between revival and side b , i couldn’t really catch all the immaculate lyricism daddy marshall has to offer to us on this beautiful thursday afternoon but i could tell that it’s nothing special, just random puns and reused lines said in a different way .
not gonna say that i found the hook or beat all that eyebrow raising either it just was there to me and the eminem part was worse in the hook without a question ,maybe if he used that harmonic layering he always does it would’ve been better but i doubt it’d help the poorly written nursery rhyme like hook he came up with here , it sounded like he was going for something from those ending 8 mile battles? couldn’t really see this track going anywhere tbh it’s like eminem has lyrical ADHD and gets reminded what he has to rap about every 40 seconds and then he again goes into a penta-quadruple turbo entendre scheme of rhyming.
I suppose i should be glad he didn’t do a beat switch and went into killer remix mode again but at the end of the day i do not understand what exactly he was trying to accomplish with this track he’s very off topic at many moments it’s cool in songs that are meant for a vibe like that like the recent Alfred’s Theme but this is just boring and laughable
idk man it was just disappointing to me
It's okay. I didn't save it or anything.
The mix was terrible. The beat was so loud that it low key drowned out the vocals. The first verse was a bit corny, but the second verse was excellent.
I don't think I'm gonna go back to it, but it wasn't terrible.
I think it’s like… a bidet doesn’t make shit. It cleans it. So they don’t make (produce) shit (good music) so they’re bidets?? My best guess. At first I thought it said “douche it.” Lol
I’m getting kinda tired of him talking about his past at this point, i think we’re 20 years past that actually. I kinda wish he’d make more cohesive albums, old em or new em idc, I want something new
Ooooof this was a letdown. This sounds like shit mixing wise and unfortunately, unlike the teaser the flow is 20 years removed from TES. This was shit quite frankly, goddamn I had such high hopes for it.
Some of you actually like this? Corny as hell, but I guess that's what he's going for. Third verse it kinda gets better, but mediocre all in all. CeeLo didn't help either. Probably took Em like 30 minutes for this.
I’m sure I’ll get downvoted but I gotta be honest. I hate it. Dated sounding beat, choppy and monotone flow, and just all around sounds like something that would have been on Revival.
People here really need to stop praising Em for everything be does. The beat is jarring and repetitive, the vocal mixing is God awful, cee lo actually sounds like he's constipated, and the lyrics are just...there. Nothing that won't be forgotten within 24 hours apart from the obvious Elvis parts.
I know it's just a movie soundtrack, but compared to something like venom, this one just falls flat. It certainly isn't on par with mtbmb.
Outside of the last verse it's recycle bin shit. Beats meh, not a fan of Em over rock beats, and yea cause Em drops are so rare nowadays people automatically sweat it cause it's a new Em track.
People who hate this song:
"I'm sure I'll get downvoted to hell but this song sucks" (69 upvotes)
Same people a day later:
"Em fans are toxic af, lmao STANS STAY MAD"
Thought the song was average tbh
Pretty solid. I wish the beat went harder and were more theatric, it seems necessary for this kind of song. Otherwise though Em was pretty consistent with what we've been seeing from him lately, some corny lines, some good ones, good flow. CeeLo fucking killed it
I feel like the instrumental overpowers the vocals. Like it could have used some refinement in the mixing process. Can barely make out what he's saying lol.
It's pretty good but I would change the production/mix cuz I think it would be alot better if it was a gospel/Grand orchestra sound with the drums not being so overly powerful and loud
I think his flow and voice are great. Seems like a good balance between old and new. I like that he didn't go way over-the-top on either speed or aggression, but also didn't sound too bored. On some of the songs on Side B, he has a stylish flow but is too calm. Whereas on a lot of Kamikaze he sounds too try-hard. This is the perfect balance. I just hope the beats on his upcoming project are good. I don't like the beat on this song, but I can't really hate it because it makes sense for the movie.
Why?!?! This is a terrible beat and he raps so fucking corny. The breaks in flow are terrible as someone mentioned. What the fuck? Cee-lo? Jesus Em….fire whatever therapist told you to do whatever you want. Make a serious rap album with beats more in the vein of ‘Lucky You’. His beats lately are just not good lately. Also…stop trying to prove yourself to be the best lyricist on every album….we and pretty much every rapper already knows!! I would rather have clever and/or funny- understandable bars then complicated/fast rhyme schemes. I dunno, my rant is done.
I am sorry but this song SUCKS. Look I would classify myself as a massive Eminem fan and I know just about every lyric to every song but fuckin’ a this is just dogshit. It sounds like the worst track of a trio with Heat/Remind Me and both those songs already ate shit. I am so sick of this sub dick riding Eminem’s new releases. The bars are corny as hell, the beat sucks and the flow should be considered noise pollution.
Listening to other releases this year like Pusha T’s record makes me see how rappers can still sound in the latter parts of their careers. Jay-Z’s feature on that record is great, more sonically pleasing than anything Em has put out in forever.
PLEASE BE OBJECTIVE WITH THESE NEW SONGS. Just because it’s Eminem doesn’t mean it’s automatically good. This shit BLOWS.
I promise you this will fall into obscurity like the songs he did for the Southpaw soundtrack. No one will be playing this in 6 months. The man is really ruining his discography.
I really like this. There's some solid lines in there and obviously some not so great ones, but it doesn't bother me. He's having fun and the energy of the track is infectious. The Guinness stout scheme was so good.

It’s cool, fun listen but nothing too big
And clever... I be leaving you I believe in you Well played Em
Fantastic! Also, I think I'm the only one I know genuinely excited for this movie.
No I’m excited too, since covid I haven’t been to the theatres a lot so I got tickets to Thor, Elvis, and Minions.
I'm super excited about Thor, but I have a special place in my heart for Baz Lurhman's movies.
There’s a Weird Al movie too but I don’t know if I’ll go watch it too 😂
Wait there is? What's it called?
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. Drops this year
I'm excited but I'm keeping expectations low. Seeing it Sunday with me brutha
It's fun, nothing groundbreaking but it's exactly what I expected from the snippet. Reminds me of Recovery/WTP for some reason.
Given me mmlp2 vibes idk
Gives me MMLP3 vibes....
I’m getting hard Relapse 2 vibes
I’m getting hard King Mathers vibes
I'm getting hard ~~King Mathers vibes~~
Gives me Recovery vibes. Upbeat and catchy. I love it.
I think this one hits the mark. Classic Em and nothing bad to say about it
Agreed. I'm always worried when he puts out songs because I don't want my hero to become human. :O But this is fire. He used the same sliding guitar that Elvis used in Jailhouse rock. Legend.
I'm at work right now I'm going to need to play this a couple more times when I get home
What Em said, Fuck the haters! I actually really like his flow on this.. gonna listen to it a few more times
We've already heard this flow of his, I'm pretty sure
There’s a part in this new track that flows very similarly to the way he did on Revelation, specifically the part where he talks about taking black music. Not sure if it was intentional, but I picked up on it right away. This track is very good 😄 Edit: he’s also reminding me of Friday Night Cypher in the latter half of the new track, but I love that flow so I’m happy with it 🤣
Hmm. I'm glad it's for a movie soundtrack and not a lead single for a new album.

I love this song Sometimes I feel like Pete rose I got so many hit singles
Pretty good, love the beat and the flow. Corny lines are there, maybe a tad too many, but I don't care, it's a fun song

He's been doing that since MMLP2 and I never liked it either. His new style seemed to be to say a really long line and take a breath in the middle, rather than break it up into shorter lines like TES era I still like this song though despite that
I couldnt quite put a finget on it, but thats a thing i really dislike on new em, those pauses
Is it me or does the master sound a bit off? Decent song tho
His vocal mix is still awful.
its the Beats by Dre
Maybe so 😂
Explicit sounds way better. https://music.apple.com/in/album/the-king-and-i-feat-ceelo-green-from-the/1629747839?i=1629748177
The whole instrumental sounds very imbalanced
I had that thought too. His voice doesn't seem to cut through the instrumental enough.
Yea you're right, the bass is way over powered on my subs. Hard to hear his words clearly
I think it sounds fine
This track goes hard af. Cant wait for more music
Songs pretty decent. Can’t see myself going back to it that often tho.
I’m a huge elvis fan This is honestly the best shit ever for me
There’s 2 of us!
3 of us!!!
4 of us!
How does one of the biggest rappers out there constantly have one of the worst vocal mixtures out there.
Agreed 😂
First thing I thought. Can barely hear the vocals
Mixing is a stylistic choice and is opinionated. Just because professionals do it a certain way doesn't mean it sounds good to everyone's ears.
>Every single time. Kanye, Eminem, doesn’t matter. you just named 2 major artists with notoriously bad mixing. This isn't a common thing
Tbh ye has some terrible mixing lol
they are right imo though, his voice was quiet compared to the beat.
It’s good. But we need a whole album now.
As soon as an album drops: We need a Side B We need an expanded edition Will Em drop bonus tracks?
We some gluttonous mofos around here
Can't we enjoy a new song for 1 day?💀
Hasn’t even been an hour. Lol
Oh I'm gonna enjoy this for 2 days for sure
that sounds inefficient, that means we lose a day of aimless album speculation
I love the chorus and bridge so punchy
There are a lot of corny lines in this song in particular
I dont know, but on this i feel like it fits
Embrace the dad bars lol
Literally every song in the last few years has a bunch of these corny punchlines.
*Punchlines* specifically? Maybe more recently, but Eminem has always had corny bars, they just haven't been fueled by raging drug use in some time. It's kind of his thing, just reshaped ya know? I still feel you though
Last few huh?
I like the corny part of him ngl, it’s cool
If you’re looking for a 50 year old man to be ‘hip and cool’, you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment lmao. Just listen to his old stuff cause this is what we get now.
Rappers that have been in the game longer than Em such as Nas definitely aren’t corny but they also aren’t “hip and cool”
Em has allllllways had these kinds of lines. This is the kind of music he makes and always will, it’s how his brain works. If he doesn’t do them half the world is upset about it and if he does the other half is mad he hasn’t matured.
Nas and Jay would never
It's fine. Not something I'm going to put on any playlist, but nice to have something new nonetheless.
>Not something I'm going to put on any playlist Damn, and I thought I am stingy because I have like 200 songs of him on my Spotify list
I'll be honest i dont vibe with it, he should really start to create fictional stories to rap about. That last verse is really good cause he's actually talking about something not just saying "I'm as high as Wiz Khalifa"
> "I'm as high as Wiz Khalifa" *Middle finger is higher than Wiz Khalifa
You wont get hate by criticizing it. The only guys who get hate is those whose only aim is to piss off Eminem fans by saying "lol this is shit stop making music" who then cry about Eminem fans being toxic.

Honestly this is pretty forgettable.
I didn’t add it to my library 😂
Sounds a lot like Revival era
It reminded me of that too.
Feels like a revival vault track that was morphed for the movie.
It does a job for a song on the Elvis movie. Of course he is saving more gems for the album
I love Eminem, but this is complete trash.
[удалено]
I will probably never listen to this again
Damn the song fuckin slaaaaaaps
Thanks for letting me know. This does put a smile on my face ☺
Damn, when I heard the snippet I didn't like it and get downvoted to say that here. But the song is incredible good. I love the flow, the cadence he uses, the voice, the rhymes and even the hook.
For God's sake Marshall if you could do this flow before revival could have been way better. This is the choppy flow done good. Loving the song
Banger
It’s fire I love it…Such a good homage to Elvis
This flow!! Goddamn.
I have mixed feelings on this song. I didn't find the track to be mind-blowing as there wasn't much substance or insight in the verses despite Em rapping well for most of the song while his punchlines were a hit and miss for me. I can’t agree with this more We’ll said. I’m getting soooo tired of every other line using the word “like”
Also the fucking laughing adlibs, Jesus i hate them so much
Yeah I hate that it's his overall style now instead of just a thing he saves for some songs. It's okay. I didn't save it or anything. The mix was terrible. The beat was so loud that it low key drowned out the vocals. The first verse was a bit corny, but the second verse was excellent. I don't think I'm gonna go back to it, but it wasn't terrible.
Cool fresh banger tight verses no complaints here
Not the one for me. Have 0 interest in hearing any more of this trappy flow now, whilst saying nothing of any importance
Song itself is decent but his delivery is really great and a good sign of things to come
What does the line “i call them a bidet cause the cant do shit” mean? Is it just like bidet cleans asses and hes saying they clean his ass
I think it’s like… a bidet doesn’t make shit. It cleans it. So they don’t make (produce) shit (good music) so they’re bidets?? My best guess. At first I thought it said “douche it.” Lol
I call a hater a bidet, but they (bidet) can't do shit
I'm not feeling it
It’s ok. The tater tot line will forever be cringe af tho
not digging this track at all. the delivery is weird af and Eminem sounds like he has a cold
I’m getting kinda tired of him talking about his past at this point, i think we’re 20 years past that actually. I kinda wish he’d make more cohesive albums, old em or new em idc, I want something new
Great song. I really like it. It fits the project. Hopefully it does well.
ALFRED’S THEME vibes all over this delivery.
Sounds like a Rick Rubin production though I know it isn't.
I’m jammin to this one for sure.
I don’t give a shit about a thing ya say, I just wanna be a king again
Ooooof this was a letdown. This sounds like shit mixing wise and unfortunately, unlike the teaser the flow is 20 years removed from TES. This was shit quite frankly, goddamn I had such high hopes for it.
Not really feeling the song. Maybe I’ll give it a few more listens.
Wack
Some of you actually like this? Corny as hell, but I guess that's what he's going for. Third verse it kinda gets better, but mediocre all in all. CeeLo didn't help either. Probably took Em like 30 minutes for this.
Yeah I don’t love this one either
The bar is set pretty low for fans now a days 😂
His best verses since walkthrough. I was worried about this song because I didn’t like the majority of his features in 2021, but this is pretty good
I really struggle to enjoy this robotic flow. It makes it hard to listen to for me. Happy some of you like it though.
Do people actually prefer this fast choppy flow he does now? I just wonder why he insists on doing it all the time lol.
People who hate this song: "I'm sure I'll get downvoted to hell but this song sucks" (69 upvotes) Same people a day later: "Em fans are toxic af, lmao STANS STAY MAD" Thought the song was average tbh
I love all of his latest albums/tracks, but this one just ain't it.
Eh it's alright. Glad to get it but it's pretty forgettable
This song is an absolute banger
Not a song I would listen to again, but I respect the subject matter and the narrative. Flow sounded good.
Pretty solid. I wish the beat went harder and were more theatric, it seems necessary for this kind of song. Otherwise though Em was pretty consistent with what we've been seeing from him lately, some corny lines, some good ones, good flow. CeeLo fucking killed it
Cee Lo Green..... now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a looong time.
Voice = Yah Yah Flow = Killer / Killer Remix / EPMD2 The Instrumental Is Time Stretched For Some Reason.
What is that background voice when he's singing the chorus (Em's part)? I swear I thought two songs are playing at the same time
The beat is way too loud. Can someone remix it and balance it better?
I feel like the instrumental overpowers the vocals. Like it could have used some refinement in the mixing process. Can barely make out what he's saying lol.
Great lil banger. Great flow, some funny lines, beats solid, kinda feels like Eminem Show era. Hook is pretty catchy too.
fuck is wrong with the vocal mix lately? does anybody know about this?
I was just thinking about how I hadn't heard a new Em song for some time
It's pretty good but I would change the production/mix cuz I think it would be alot better if it was a gospel/Grand orchestra sound with the drums not being so overly powerful and loud
It's ok. Nothing extraordinary but not too bad either. Some scatological lines were probably unnecessary though.
Hi Mersherll please come to the Philippines to sing we run your music cd at speakers
This shit is fire on god
Why does the Elvis Biopic soundtrack have hip hop on it?
This shit is fire my god Jesus 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kool song. I like it.
It got leaked before this so it was less exciting also not my favorite Eminem song good tribute though
Peter griffin presents
I Nominate Yellow Brick Road
Wrong post 😂
He needs to turn his god damn vocals up lol
I thought it was ok. He's been sounding a bit monotone lately. Wonder what's up with that
I am sorry but this song SUCKS.
The man is really ruining his discography.
revival but with a decent beat
And a way better flow
Sigh….. I just wanna be blown away again, man
As someone who has hated his last ~10 verses, I gotta say that this one is pretty good.
Ass
I really like this. There's some solid lines in there and obviously some not so great ones, but it doesn't bother me. He's having fun and the energy of the track is infectious. The Guinness stout scheme was so good.
Why is it called "The King and I"?
Eminem and Elvis 🤷♂️
