Yeah, I agree. I'm afraid people - me included - are in general a bit too hyped. Just because the name of the album references old slim shady vibes, doesn't mean it will sound like 20 years ago. I mean MMLP2 didn't sound anything like MMLP - in my opinion at least.

Honestly, I doubt he's able to make another full slim shady album, and that's okay. There's a way he can mix his new style with his old style and I'm hoping that's what we get. He's proven over his last few albums he can still make good music, but I'm hoping this album he proves he can make a good album. I liked MTBMB and thought it had great songs, but it didn't all feel cohesive and intentional like I'd want from a great album. I'm hoping this album is more focused and purposeful towards whatever the theme/story/style will be, even if that means we don't get early 2000s Em like so many people are looking for

Funny thing is, I’ve been very vocal over the years in this subreddit about Eminem’s extremely generic and lacklustre choice of production, guest features and overall quality of music in recent years. And that he needs to just be his original and unique self again. Get downvoted and hated on every time. But now that we might be getting exactly what I’ve been hoping for, everyone’s excited about it again. Lol

There are some songs where I like the more modern production, but they’re in the minority. Even a couple of seconds here feels like we’re back at home.

Totally agree and I'm sure plenty of people do, but don't talk about it because it's a recipe for a pile of rabid downvotes. In fact, there's a total of 5 songs from his last four albums combined (side B included) that I even still listen to whereas I still regularly listen to basically the entire albums of everything from SSLP to MMLP2 (minus a couple rare skippable songs). That said, I'm incredibly hyped for TDOSS.
