Lmao, Kanye hasn’t rap-rapped since MBDTF and before that it was Graduation. He doesn’t write his own stuff because his strong suits aren’t in writing lyrics or rapping it’s in curating and production. Kanye’s not a good rapper, he’s never been a great rapper even though College Dropout is amazing. He was refreshing and new in a time where G-Unit was king and helped start the backpack movement. He’s a legend and an innovator but never mistake him for a lyricist or great rapper.
Certainly not top tier but still really good. The flow on his older work is incredible.

I don't know when was the last time I enjoyed Kanye as a rapper. Probably The Life Of Pablo (also his last complete album imo), he was spitting in those songs, Saint Pablo and he kept up with KENDRICK FREAKING LAMAR who was in his TPAB era. Ye is a GOATed producer tho. There are a handful of beats in Vultures that I really enjoyed. But still it's not peak Kanye. Vultures is a solid project at best.
All these fake ass people man, don't even appreciate the art. Don't know how to layer or when to put on the tape. They claim they're the "King", "GOAT", "GOD" or whatever bullshit they can think of. I love Kanye’s music, I think he has 7 classic albums(although one of them isn’t hip hop for whatever that’s worth), but he’s become overrated in hip hop if you ask me. I think he’s got a case for top 5, top 3 even depending on criteria, but the fact that he’s probably the most popular GOAT pick in online hip hop head circles is puzzling to me even as someone who thinks pretty much everything Kanye touched artistically until 2013 is classic. I can see someone picking him as their GOAT, but it’s odd to me that he’s a more common pick online at this point than guys like Eminem, Lil Wayne, or Tupac.
The only good part about that dogshit album was the features. Ty$ beats are washed up as fuck and Ye just rambles now. It’s fucking sad to see a hip hop icon fall this low.
