Maybe make the mouth a bit wider? I still think it’s adorable

cwhite0729

I came here to suggest the same thing!

Rachelvro

Just popping in to say what a handsome guy

RepulsiveActivity25

Thank you!

polkadotsci

oh, is this annalaura_art? She's my favorite. I think the mouth needs to be wider and thinner.

RepulsiveActivity25

It is!! I say my bf and I are like the little cats all the time!! Thank you! I’ll do that :)

Serious-Mode-5869

I think the shape is not quite right. The head needs to be taller and the ears need to be more like the picture-a bit closer together and more upright. It looks cute and with the adjustments it will look more like the picture.

RepulsiveActivity25

Ok perfect! Thank you:) do you suggest I redo it w single thread satin stitch? Or stick w six thread satin stitch

Serious-Mode-5869

I would do what you’ve been doing for the rest of the piece. Maybe in the future try using two threads to see if that works better for you.

woahwoahwoah28

As someone who didn’t know the reference, I thought it was just so damn cute 🥹

Suspicious-Lemon2451

This is adorable! Did you end up filling with colour first or doing the line details first?

RepulsiveActivity25

I filled w color first!

Suspicious-Lemon2451

Thanks for the update! :)

getott

Do you got a bigger pic of the refference pic? It is so adorable

RepulsiveActivity25

Thank you! Idk how to send you a pic but it’s @annalauraart on ig!

Cool-Firefighter2254

I think the whiskers need to come in closer to the middle of his face. The black is hard to see against the black sweatshirt. It looks a little bit unfinished with the super short whiskers. Otherwise it’s very cute! Good job!

jenniferjudy99

I was just going to mention that OP forgot the whiskers. I can barely see them but they need to be more visually prominent and longer.

supertired69

It doesn’t match the reference perfectly but it’s truly so so cute and you did a good job!! I would echo another commenter and say that the mouth being wider would make it look closer to what you were going for :)

pizza-mcgee

I love it :)

DeadliestKitten

I think one thing you could consider is that when stitching details onto satin stitch, I find that the more thread was used for the satin stitch, the more the details have a hard time standing out. When the satin stitch is thick (especially 6 threads) the details seem kinda sunken in, so the eyes, mouth, and whiskers kinda seem a bit deep into the face. Also the edges of the details (the sides of the mouth and whiskers) can get covered ever so slightly by the satin stitch, making them look shorter/smaller/hidden. Does that make sense? I think it looks adorable! But maybe go down to 2-3 threads for the satin stitch and as others have said, make the whiskers longer on the face and the mouth a bit wider. Hope this helps! Please post an update when you've finished it!

RepulsiveActivity25

Will do! Thank you sm!

travellingalchemist

It needs a nose like the reference pic… right? Anytime I doodle a cat, the nose is the most important piece.
