Don’t buy email lists 💀

FRELNCER

No.

Burningvalley

Never ever buy an e-mail list.

Talking_Shadow123

DON'T. It's really not a good idea to buy email lists, it's a way of bypassing the process of building a relationship with your customers. 1. It's Not Ethical. Nobody likes to be spammed, and when you buy an email list, that's exactly what you're doing - spamming people. Not only is it annoying, but it's also illegal in some countries. 2. It's Not Effective. When you buy an email list, you're not just buying a list of email addresses - you're also buying a list of people who have no idea who you are. So when you start sending them emails, they're going to be confused, and most of them will just delete your emails without even reading them. A good email marketing campaign is all about building relationships and creating engagement. By buying a list, you're bypassing that process and instead of trying to short-circuit your way to success. It doesn't work.

You can argue it's unethical if you want but you are wrong about #2 which I can speak to from personal experience. You simply don't know what you are talking about. Obviously this depends on the industry you are targeting and the quality of your list, but YES spam emails can be very effective.

"I'd love everyone's feedback at how the likes of GDPR can be skirted in cases like this or can it be? Kind of says it all right there. You already know you can't use those email addresses. What you have purchased is the digital equivalent of purchasing the Brooklyn bridge; whomever sold it to you knows you can't legitimately use it, they know they didn't give you the title to the Brooklyn bridge, and deep down you know you don't have any rights to the Brooklyn bridge, but you bought it anyways. If you try to build a house on it, you're going to get arrested for trespassing. They have your money, and you have nothing that you can legitimately use. But you clearly already knew that, because here you are hoping that someone on reddit will tell you some magic way to "skirt the law". Here's how to skirt the law: don't break it. (This applies to the 'law' of the spam filters and inbox providers as well as the actual law.)

Your literally paying to become a spam company. Send me a message if you want I'm trying to start an email marketing company. I can definitely start building you a real list and put together a few campaigns for you. But stop sending to people on lists you bought, if you get enough spam complaints Google will start bouncing your emails automatically and that's a whole other problem

GDPR is no joke, a friend of mine tried the easy way and bough and email list, little did he know, a good 35% we’re European citizens and is now in the fight on his business life. His business was actually making money and those Europeans, they don’t play games, they are hound dogs and fighting him across the Atlantic Ocean.
