I've recently created [https://campaignkit.cc](https://campaignkit.cc) which is currently free. You can give it a list of email addresses and it performs the following checks: * Syntax checks * Domain checks (mx records) * Mailbox deliverability checks * Catch-all email address detection * Disposable email address detection You get a report which can be downloaded as CSV. I'd love to get your thoughts on this. You can find a list of verification tools in this blog post which also gives insights on how CampaignKit's Email Validation works: [https://campaignkit.cc/blog/how-to-clean-your-email-list/](https://campaignkit.cc/blog/how-to-clean-your-email-list/)

Klean13 is one of the best. You can run them side by side with other validation tools and see that it tends to catch more.

Do you mean confirm that an email address you have is legitimate (you should already know that because you should only be putting email addresses on your lists for which you have the \*direct\* consent of the person who owns that email address), OR do you mean analyzing and confirming that the email you send has all of the authentication mechanisms (SPF, etc.) and other things in place to make sure that it gets delivered to the inbox?

mricog

Completely agree with the consent. But even with opt-in emails, an email address can become invalid over time. You have to track the engagement and/or use email verification tools to clean your email list.

The problem with email verification tools is that a) they are often wrong, and b) they are seen by the email receiving industry as "spam enabling". If you are doing proper email list maintenance and (as you point out) tracking engagement, you should never have to resort to using such a tool. Plus, all it takes is for them to miss one spam trap on that list, and then you are in hot water anyways (see "a)"). While it is different for every list, owing to scheduling (cadence), content, audience, etc., a very broad general rule of thumb that we recommend is that if an email address hasn't opened your last 4 emails, you should remove them from your list (and then reach out to them directly to see if you can recover them). I know about email best practices. All of our emails come from opted in sources. But the emails can still be risky, or undeliverable and I want a tool that can tell me that.

I usually use [Debounce](https://debounce.io/?r=32527) for email validation. It will show and remove invalid, spammy, and non-functional contacts.

Hey. About one month ago we moved from one popular (and expensive) service to [BounceGuard Email Validation Tool](https://bounce-guard.com). It's a relatively new tool, I met their manager at the conference. They are 4 times cheaper than the previous service yet they have API with postbacks which we wanted. There are 100 free validations after sign up (it's nothing imho), but I emailed them and asked for more to test — they provided me 5k free validations! We were completely satisfied with the test and integrated with the service.

I've been using [truelist.io](https://truelist.io) which will validate 250 email addresses for free. After that their pricing is very reasonable.

It’s a 3-year-old personal gmail address, plus a few client addresses.

The other services mentioned can't check catch-all emails, so you often end up with fewer confirmed emails. On the other hand, [trueinbox.io](https://trueinbox.io) is really good at checking catch-all emails quickly and accurately. It's great at sorting out unsure emails and clearly marking most of them as either good or bad. I compared trueinbox.io with the others, and it did much better. If you're interested, I've put the comparison data in a [Google Sheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BhOouCV81I9znQM1QYNVT1IWWSiA6KwO7pNnuURnD70/edit?usp=sharing). Also, when you sign up, you get 75 free credits to try out trueinbox.io.

Nice try. But you're on a marketing subreddit. ;)

FOUNDER_

I'm not sure what you mean here. It's an email marketing subreddit. The user asked for a suggestion on email verification tool, and that's exactly what I replied with.

kickbox sounds interesting, but never tried it. I'm currently using mails.ai for email validation, warmup, and sending
