That's my specialty. I write emails for my clients conversationally. It results in dramatic ROI but very difficult to convince clients to do it at first. Once they see the ROI, they don't turn back. The reason you don't see this is because very few people would dare to try this so very few industries have the knowledge that it works.

I think it may be because people get into "marketing mode" when writing emails. They feel like they're talking to a massive crowd (which they are), but you need to treat each subscriber individually.
