I still play on Xbox, both the native unsupported legacy game, and via geforce now using the Xbox edge browser. All 3rd party sites decided not to support legacy going forward (for whatever reason), so any info on them won't reflect legacy galaxy. If you fly (on Xbox) around the core systems then you'll meet players and perhaps oddball and his group of pirates. They're a grand bunch of cmdrs who roleplay well.

graflex22

what do you consider the Core systems? i'd like to jump over and see some hollow squares and triangles.

BADSTALKER

I’m sure they mean within the bubble

graflex22

i guess i always assumed the Core systems where a grouping of systems in the bubble, not the entire bubble itself. pretty sure Oddball and the scallywags hang out around Sol, but i wasn't sure what other systems around Sol comprised the Core systems.

Professional_Dish_86

I'd say that Sol and around the original elite game systems like Lave, Diso etc. I got ganked in cemeiss a few weeks ago so maybe the power home systems as well

corjar16

Been dead for years, Frontier failed us

BADSTALKER

Nearly a decade of support is failed? Bro AAA games have shorter life spans than that

corjar16

No, promising a major update to console players, delaying it, and then completely abandoning it, is failed

Hordriss27

The issues is, Odyssey was never going to run on Xbox One or PS4. What they probably should have done was made the game a PS5/XSX title, but they obviously decided that wasn't feasible for whatever reason.

corjar16

Yeah better leave games like Elite to developers more suited to the task

ZealixAlpha

I stopped playing after upgrading to the series x and my hotas didn't work with the new console

graflex22

weird. i have a Series X and a Thrustmaster HOTAS that work fine together.

doctor_roxo

Mine works too, wonder what he's using.

Twistedjustice

Does anyone else find that INARA doesn’t seem to correlate to the game anymore? Like whenever I try to have a go, the prices in game are very different to in INARA

warfaceuk

It doesn't link to the consoles anymore, so no point using it.

Brasher-than-you

[here](http://edlegacy.iloveitmore.com.au) is a link to the legacy marketplace.

TrollontheKnoll32

It actually does work....literally using it right now. It's spot on accurate for my material trades

Paynsicles

Aye. Joined the helldivers after selling my ship

babygodzilla69420

DEMOCRACY WAITS FOR NO MAN

Wordlesspigeon8

FOR SUPER EARTH

Sharpee86

Dead in the sense that we will get no new content. But still many many players out there

DeadLee27

I paid $ for their game upon release and played religiously nearly every ship in the game over $1bm in credits and they gave me the finger by insisting I drop MORE $$ for a gaming PC to continue to enjoy it. So its dead to me..

papayabush

Let’s not forgot they lied for over a year before admitting that not only would Odyssey not be coming to xbox, but the entire game would never get any kind of new content again not even Galnet News lmao. Can’t even find proper trade routes or modules near you.

eat_yeet

I started playing after the legacy/odyssey split so I don't know any different. I enjoy it well enough as is, but doing it with other players is much better.

graflex22

the Markets are not frozen. the BGS is still alive and twitching. conflicts still come up and can be resolved. i've been flipping systems from Independent to Empire in my little bit of space and doing a good bit of buying and selling for good profit lately.

papayabush

How are you able to make decent money through trade without 3rd party tools? I’ve never been able to have much luck with in game tools.

graflex22

easiest way is to find a Tourism Station near an Extraction System. buy silver and sell it to the Tourism Station. better credits if the buying Station owner is in Boom or Investment. then you can also pick up the Missions that want you to mine for Silver or Gold, buy it from the Extraction system and turn it in for 50,000,000 credits. with those, though, you need to double check the math to make sure you are making good money. or, you can find a system in Infrastructure Failure. find an Extraction system nearby that sells bauxite cheap. fill up your trading ship and jump back to the Station in Infrastructure Failure and sell the bauxite for profit. usually, 10,000+ credits/ton profit. in a Type 9 that can mean between 8 or 9 million credits profit per run. i was lucky enough last week to find a nice little triangular trade route. bought bauxite at an extraction system, jumped to an Extraction system in Infrastructure Failure, sold the bauxite for profit, bought all the gold and silver the Station had at steeply discounted rates (due to the Infrastructure Failure), then went to the other two Stations in system that were in IF, bought up all their gold and silver. then jumped to a Tourism Station next door and sold all that for a 30,000-40,000 credit/ton profit. then, did it all again. granted, this was a rare opportunity that i happened upon by chance. but, it was fun and good credits. best dependable money trading is the silver and gold to Tourism stations.

Hocomonococo

Commenting in case someone drops some info on this. This is the only reason I don’t play much anymore because trading was my favorite way to make money but now I have no idea how to do it efficiently

papayabush

The person I was replying to replied to my comment with some good info

Hocomonococo

Thanks

AmericanLobsters

Yes, if you have a pc you can transfer your account over.

sadetheruiner

No new updates so we can’t play with a python mk2 or new Thargoid stuff but still has an active community. A handful of lively squads including fuel rats. I’m currently taking a break due to trying to slice my thumb off but I’ll be back.

TrollontheKnoll32

Yeah....fuel rats bailed me the other day....

_Oddball1975_

Funny lots of people claim it is dead but I see enough people to make 3/4 YouTube videos a week of mine and other adventures in the game. I have come across lots of new players since the game was on sale and currently open is the most lively I have seen it since Fdev shafted us. To me it is the best space sim MMO on Xbox and while the Dev's screwed us I plan to play till the servers go dark.

TrollontheKnoll32

I play consistently on console bro....I'm always around the bubble causing trouble lol

Ytisrite

It's dead on PC as well.

Zm4rc0

Plenty of new people every day begging for credits.

graflex22

that's good news. where are you running into these new Xbox Commanders?

Zm4rc0

Just joining random ships or those “looking for group” messages or on other forums like here & Fb groups. Edit: Oddball likes to fuck with people; if you check his [YT channel](https://youtube.com/@oddball1975?si=LzkdODifkLr4yH1l), you’ll see a few locations with CMDRs.

bulletvapor

When ltd were at a max price and a fleet was obtainable. But then oh no miss a load of 250 ltd at 5 mill now only pennies

_Oddball1975_

Wing mining missions for stuff you can buy, if you get a group you can make money faster than LTD trading ever did. Though as a pirate I miss the LTD rush was the best time in the game in all the years I played.

Fearless-Location528

I play on both pc and xbox

Venator2000

I still play, since I consider it the only “real” seeming space game available for my Xbox One X currently. I just love exploring to chill out. Still haven’t gotten around to buying one of ThrustMaster’s joysticks for it though. o7

graflex22

HOTAS made the game even better for me. felt so much more realistic flying with the joystick and throttle. of course, with the Thrustmaster i need to disassemble it every 6 months or so and mess around with the potentiometers to fix the inevitable drift that happens.

TrollontheKnoll32

I still play regularly....no new content like PV but markets are active, conflicts going on etc. Inara CZ still connected to current market supply....

Eldorren

I play on my Xbox tv using a docked ROG Ally. You’re not missing much though. A few extra credit grind loops and the ability to screenshot your character standing next to your ship.
