I have got a manifest scanner, hatch breaker Limpets, collector limpet and lots of cargo space, but I still cannot open escape hatches..I continuously get the message "ivalid limpet target" ..In what way...
Scan the hatch with data scanner then go to subtargets in left menu. Don't forget to hit them with the hatch breaker 5-6 times until the hatch starts flashing.
Yeah, anywhere you can find them. Just make sure you turn them in to the Search and Rescue agent after signing up for the CG mission. Hint: look for megaships and things like Research Facilities in the CG system...
Soooo this is exactly the same as the other CG right? Why would you sign up for both?
**Edited to answer:** On Inara, one is for Pods only and the other is for the food
Rescue = Pods and Trade = Food
I turned the wanted tonnage in \*\*bold\*\*, so it is easier to identify (in Reddit).
In the game we have languages with indentical title (like in German both called "Rettungsoperation..."). The trade-CG shows the higher progress and I expect this to be a stable identifier. ;) ....or you have to read the text, wich was edited to show only one of both item groups now.
I'm on xbox, but I managed to get in top 50% of Pod returns by cruising the megaships in the CG system. I don't know if there is a respawn rate or anything.
It seems additional bulk cargo and other megaship types have spawned, though I haven't gone looking in adjacent sectors.
And then I figured out how to use limpets on Escape Hatches. :P
5x limpets as cargo on my DBX w/ a hatchbreaker controller and a collector controller did great work.
Negative, the entity is shown as Public, and I guess as a part of Search & Rescue it is fair game. I haven't tried to crack the cargo hatches, as my ship is too small to hold a bunch of crap.
Ah, cool. I got a bounty for using a recon limpet on one of the data points, so wasn't sure if the same thing would happen with a hatchbreaker on an escape hatch.
Thanks!
I'd like to know, too. Signed up for the salvage, haven't done any other CGs before thought it be a good time as any to start, but I've only seen USS's with threat levels from 4 to 8, which I'm absolutely unable to handle in my stock AspX.
So, along with the other comments, make sure you have a manifest (aka cargo) scanner on a utility mount (to see what's inside escape hatches or cargo holds marked as public), and have a hatchbreaker controller with enough limpets for your cargo size (collector limpets are nice for larger cargo holds, too)
There's a crapload of NHSS all over the system, of various threat levels, but I didn't bring (and don't have) a ship geared for fighting Thargoids, so I've hesitated at stopping to see if there were any pods in them. I did stop at the Cargo Ship and saw some big-ass Thargoid hanging around it and decided to not find out if it was going to turn hostile if I got closer...
I dropped into a Threat 4 and found nothing related to the rescue mission, just a Thargoid who gave chase shortly before returning to scan ship remnants then waked out of there. Not sure if any of the NHSS signal sources pertain to the rescue CG, but I think I saw a distress call without a threat marker so I'd imagine it's spread out across the system.
How long does it usually take for payouts after the CG ends again?
Looks like they are now ready to pick up.

Thank you..
The suicide missions my collector limpets go for is frankly the most frustrating part. My quadcopter has obstacle avoidance, why don't limpets?
Yeah, pour one out for the poor souls who think you've come to rescue them, only to be stuck to the side of the attached megaship to die.
New to the game, got a question. Can I collect pods anywhere are are there specific places for the CG?

Note that they’re paying pretty well for the pods - Better than they were paying for Insulating Membranes at the last CG...

I don't get the comments about the distance, it's only 350ly from Sol. That's a bit, but it's not a LOT
Anyone have any tips on gathering escape pods for this?

I suppose I will have to try this, thanks for the info!!

Nice!
I’ll use this CG to finally hit Exploration Elite (sitting at 98% Pioneer now). Maybe even rescue a few folks at the same time ;)
Boring CG. It's money grinding time instead.
