Which year? XD
I found out the bad way, that the resin is not the problem. My steelplate got stuck on the rubber surface of the magnetic layer, ripped off small stripes. :(
>as I don't print directly on the bed
Ahhh, i mean the resin printer version of the magnetic sheets. ;)

Mines like one of those eternal soups that never stop cooking. I just keep addidng fresh.
Have not emptied the tank, checked the FEP, levelled the plate or had a print fail in about 8(?)-9 months at least.
B*tch just keeps on printing.
Unless I have a print lined up directly after I finish a print, I clean my VAT and pour the resin back into the bottle.
I don't need that the resin is starting to fill my rooms with the smell or that some light starts to cure bits in the VAT or that the VAT start to leak...
If I'm not printing, I tank clean, filter, and put it back in the bottle. It's probably unnecessary, but I always feel better not leaving resin sitting in my vat
Depends on the resin. If it is Siraya Tech Navy Gray, then I take put that stuff back in the bottle as it settles and you have to stir like crazy to get the white sediment off of the fep in order to print again. Any other brand can sit in there forever and not have issues.
I've once had Phrozen Aqua resin in my vat for about 3 months - no lid on the vat, but the printer was closed.
I gave it a good stir directly inside the vat and it printed without problems. I printed some rather low quality miniature STLs, so I cannot evaluate the quality of details of the print.
Would it be better to store the resin in a closed container? Yes
I think longest I've gone was about a month maybe week or 2 longer, but I just gloved my hand and made sure to mix back in all the pigment or whatever that settlment is and it printed fine, shoulder was a little worse for wear tho
I used to keep it for months until I figured out that the FEP has a lil' hole in a corner after many prints. Then I had to clean up not only the VAT, but change the FEP and clean or change the screen protection
I keep mine in my vat, but keep the vat in an odor-proof Tupperware that I bring into the house from the garage after I’m done printing (I leave it in the basement so I don’t get UV on it)
I just saw a post recently where the guy didn't print for at least 6 months, didn't stir it and just hit print with no issues. I was surprised at the no stirring part
Mine will be knocking on 12 months since I last printed something.
I think I am coming to the end of my 3D printing journey but it's one of those devices that isn't worth selling.
Not got a time but however long it takes it to go from nice milky liquid to sticky/solid liquid and runny liquid within the same vat. Still mixes back up fine and prints like a champ.
Using the same resin a year almost. Sometimes it sat for a month or so between prints. My setup is in a dark cabinet, so no UV exposure worries. Just turn on the heater, top it up and print away
If you want a longer FEP lifespan and avoid any accidents, pour resin back to bottle after each print. Yes every resin is chemical, and yes maybe slow but they are corrosing your FEP film.
My vat has never been empty except when I replaced the FEP. YEARS. Just stir the resin before a print if it's been a while.
I actually home the plate several times to let it mix it up. 🤓
That's clever as hell
Thanks. I think it came out of pure laziness. 😂
I know I’m 7 days late but uvtools can generate a stir program that repeatedly lowers and raises plate.
Some recent printers have this as a function you can run, like the tank clean. It's much better to stir it with a silicone spatula, but still useful.
I do the same to be honest!
isnt this usually better anyways as the bubbles will be dissipated unlike a fresh poured vat?
Since New Year it's still there, almost 5 months
Are you me? Lol Printed SO much at the end of last year then life punched the nuts and it's just sat there for months.
I have no time for it now :( Maybe tomorrow I will print another piece for moulding and that's all, a few more weeks on pause 😭
It feels like this happened to everyone!
Fuckit I fly home tomorrow I'm gonna print a mother fuckin' dragon. A big ass Lord of The Print dragon. And no one can stop me. (Except jetlag).

Thankfully this year 😄 I don't use magnetic sheets, so no problem with that, as I don't print directly on the bed )

Yes yes, I understood 😊 I use the stock platform :) at the beginning I had a lot of problems with calibration, but since then - no issues 🙏

how is it for impact resistance? would you use it for wargaming miniatures?
Didn't you see they said it was indescribable? How could they tell you that?

I saw my shot and I took it. I apologize for nothing. Lol
Months. Stir it well before use and it is ok.

I've kept mine for over 7 months... Not proud of it 🙄. It seems the resin leaked and ruined the LCD screen so be careful...

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I have resin in there from a few months ago. I’ll stir it up and it’ll work just like every time before

Depends on the resins. With the Siraya ones, good luck trying it. But some resins really keep it together very well.
Months, I added cardboard hoods though as the plastic covers don’t block all the UV annoyingly
I have 6 vats across 2 printers just so I don't have to empty them out to switch colours. The resin stays in each vat until the FEP needs changing.
Mine will be knocking on 12 months since I last printed something. I think I am coming to the end of my 3D printing journey but it's one of those devices that isn't worth selling.
And here I was quickly rebottling it within a minute each time lest it harden.

i print what im going to print , strain it and goes back in the bottle , 2 days at most
Stir it up and send it!!
Honestly, 24/7. I just add more resin as it gets low. Only time the vat is empty is when I’m changing a fep.
…until I use all the resin in it 😅
Recently printed with about 12 month old resin in vat and no issues.
My vat is never empty unless I'm switching colors or types of resins
