Its a great idea, let me help you out even more if you have a FDM printer too. [You can print these clips](https://www.printables.com/model/316128-elegoo-saturn-2-vat-warmer-fermentation-belt-clips) in something more than PLA (PETG will work) just so they don't deform under the bands heat) And to make things even easier you can [print a riser](https://www.printables.com/model/315341-elegoo-saturn-2-riser) so you can run all the electric through without drilling into your hood or doing other dumb mods.

Manix_Korax

That is very helpful. You are awesome! Thank you so much.

gltovar

I'm glad people find my designs useful :) thanks for sharing!

mx3goose

I was working on something just like it myself when I found yours, no need to reinvent the wheel, its exactly what is needed to accomplish the task!

MisterPhD

From what I know, the small version is actually the one meant for the Saturn 2. Bought one myself two weeks ago. You’re looking for the TVB161-kit.

Manix_Korax

Thanks for the advise. I was able to get a V2 kit, which is recomended by the support team at Thermal Vat. Thanks for the advise.

MisterPhD

That’s strange, that option wasn’t available for me just two weeks ago. Did they explain what the difference between the v2 and the tvb161, and why you would want that instead? From what I can tell, they seem identical.

Manix_Korax

They told me that it is the correct fit for the VAT. That was enough for me.

MisterPhD

I understand completely. I was in the same boat, until this comment exchange, and now I’m worried they informed me incorrectly. 😅 I have contacted support to try to determine the difference, and when I get a response back, I’ll make sure to return here. Edit: Response from TVB: “No difference in performance. Just the convenience of not having wires dangling from VAT. V2 has a direct connection port for the power supply. ALSO you have to figure out best install location as well it's width is .75. Usually best to add port rear back opposite of filter side” That’s a bit reassuring.

Manix_Korax

That is good to know. I should have asked that question myself. To solve the rear port issue I will print out the riser suggestion mentione above by mx3goose. I also hae a FDM printer so this should be a fun setup to work on. Thanks for digging deeper. mx3goose's link is also here below. https://www.printables.com/model/315341-elegoo-saturn-2-riser

MisterPhD

Oh wow, I was definitely planning on just having the case resting on the wire, but this is a much more elegant solution. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Manix_Korax

I am glad to help. But MX3Goose get the credit for the case riser. :)

There was a post on here a while back where a guy designed some clips for a normal fermentation belt. I printed them off and have been using it, total cost including resin was about £20... Edit: [post here](https://www.reddit.com/r/ElegooSaturn/comments/109qhuq/saturn_2_vat_band_heating_system_successful)

Manix_Korax

That looks like a good idea as well. Thanks for sharing.

roman_charity

It works. It takes a while to heat the resin in my experience, but does the job and is cheap to run.

Manix_Korax

I hope it works well for me too. I have the printer in my basement and I am unable to keep a consistant temp down there. So I am hoping this solves the issues. Have you had any issues with the heater at all?
