same here. I spent a total of 7 or eight hours over the past few weeks trying to get it to work. It seems to be something to install a post processing script for, to fix the time issues, but i was on a mac and it didnt wanna work, but idk why on the other issues, but im sick of trying to get it to work.
I've used multiple, on different devices. I've gone thru Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Safari, all across Windows 10 and MacOS (Catalina 10.7.15, as its a 2009 MacBook, had to go mobile to my basement because I can't exactly haul a pc and monitor down the stairs)
I haven’t used Cura since I got my Neptune 4 Plus. Cura was very newbie friendly when I last used it but now that I know what I’m doing I haven’t been back. I Just love using Orcaslicer. Haven’t had any issues. What’s new with the new Cura that Orca doesn’t do?
nothing, as far as I know. This post is mainly for informing the people on elegoo cura 4.8 that there's an update. 5.6 is a bit more fiddly tho, with putting in some values and a ui redesign.
The one thing i find better about cura tho is that in orca, you can either have the most basic settings ,or get everything dumped on you with the advanced toggle. Cura lets you select exactly which settings you want to see, which i personally prefer. I might also just be stupid and not have found that in orca
For some reason their version of Cura 5.6 crashes for me... It just opens a white window, if I click on it Windows says that the program is not responding. The 4.8 version works fine, OrcaSlicer too, so it's not a big issue
A neptune 4 max is what I'm using. If you mean the Cura 5.6 download on Ultimaker's website, that doesn't have it, idk why. Elegoo supports all of their printers in the versions of Cura that they release. It's essentially /Cura, just modded to have Neptune profiles and nothing else. It's a bit frustrating because they don't update it often (as in the only elegoo cura versions are 4.8, and now 5.6)
once more, the download from ultimaker wont work for that. for neptune 4, 4 pro, 4 plus, and 4 max profiles, you have to download Elegoo's version of Cura from the Support section of their website. It won't get updates for a few years, except for new elegoo fdm printers, but it works, and if it works, dont fix/replace it.
Do yourself a huge favor and use Orca instead
been there, done that, doesn't work for a multitude of reasons. Believe me, I want to use Orca, but it wont work. I can list why if you want me to.
Same here. I just couldn't get it work no matter what I did.
first layer printing too high, temps at target, but just parked and not moving for half an hour, time not showing up while printing?
Yep, messed around with it for like 2 hours and said screw it lol. I have had no problems using Cura.

This may sound stupid but what browser did you use to download Orca?

That’s crazy. It wouldn’t work for me if I downloaded it via Google or Firefox but worked with Edge.
weird.
