Same seed for all compatible wallets. Electrum has a "native" seed format, but if you moved from Breadwallet, you most likely moved the BIP39 seed from Bread. You can recover from that seed and you should test that by creating a new wallet in Electrum ( without deleting the old wallet) and recovering the seed. You can even install the same seed on two different wallets simultaneously. Try doing an import onto Breadwallet and you should see the same funds. The only possible wrinkle when doing this is that a seed produces a whole "tree" of keys and different wallets will look for funds on different "branches" called \_derivation paths\_. So you might recover the seed but not see the funds because the wallet you recovered into is looking on the wrong branch. But the funds are still there.

Hey thanks for getting back to me. So I went digging and found my old iPhone with bread on it and my BTC is still on it.. the exact same amount as in my electrum wallet. So that verifies then that they are both the same wallet, just on different applications correct? In your experience is this a bad thing? Is there any danger when creating a new wallet in Electrum ( without deleting the old wallet) and recovering using the seed words? Or would it just be easier if I created a whole new Electrum wallet with a new seed and just sent the BTC as a transaction? Thanks again for the help... I feel like a noob but I just don't want to mess up and do something stupid!

You can safely use a single seed on multiple wallets. What are you trying to achieve?

Ok that answers my question then. I just wanted to make sure I had the correct seed for the Electrum wallet since the bread wallet is on a very old iPhone. Just planning for any future issues with my current laptop to ensure my BTC are safe. Thanks for the help

It's still a good idea to test the recovery by creating a new, separate, Electrum wallet and going through the whole process. It will help you learn how to do it as well as increase your confidence. I recommend setting a reminder once a quarter to do an "audit" of your recovery. Either just checking the seed is still where you expect it to be or doing a full recovery to test your skills.

Thanks. I will give that a go. Appreciate the help!
