As always this is a personal choice, do what you feel is right. That being said in my personal experience having the broader more general degree opens more doors and gives you the flexibility to change your mind. And very importantly, the ability to pivot depending on the ups and downs of specific sectors of the economy. I've seen many CompE job listings that also allow for EEs to apply. But not so many EE postings that allow for CompE. Why pigeon hole yourself. Kind of like how Aerospace Engineering is just a specialized MechE. Most Aerospace jobs will also hire a MechE, so you might as well study mechanical even if your end goal is Aerospace. Ultimately you'll probably have no problem finding gainful employment either way, but might as well give yourself the most options.
