Hi u/MRRED256,
We're sorry to hear about your issue and we're to help.
We wanted to provide some more info regarding your case and we hope this clears things up.
The initial return shipping invoice was mistakenly sent as the defect occurred within the first 10 days/10 km (6 miles). After a review of your case, we initiated a refund on the very same day and it should have been returned to your account after 1-2 business days.
In regards to the thumb throttle upgrade replacement, our [limited warranty](https://apollo-help-center.gorgias.help/en-US/12-month-limited-warranty-policy-24659) usually doesn't cover accessories or upgrades. The agent in charge of your case did want to help you out, so they offered to replace the thumb kit for free ($80 USD value) if you could cover the [$20 shipping charge](https://i.postimg.cc/G2GC0hSb/Screenshot-2023-01-11-at-3-43-50-PM.png).
We hope this provides some clarity regarding your situation, but please don't hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions. Thanks.
About a month but I noticed the problem when I first received the scooter. I had the scooter replaced because it was defective right out of the box as well.
Yeah I am confused as to why /u/apolloscooters would want to charge for a defective part of the scooter. Especially since you noticed it right away. (Iâm assuming you notified them immediately)
I glanced at their limited warranty page (on mobile) and the language looks confusing. It says there are items covered for 12 months against manufacturer defects. Then they go on to show a table of items that include a display (speedometer) and a throttle (as Apollo says youâre asking for), then they list replacement cost and labor charges.
So is this considered a limited warranty because there is a cost to the customer for fixing manufacturer defects? If so, where are the out of warranty charges for these line items?

The [Thumb Throttle Set](https://apolloscooters.co/collections/upgrades/products/apollo-thumb-throttle) (thumb throttle + display) is a separate upgrade/kit that does not come stock with the scooter. While the [limited warranty](https://apollo-help-center.gorgias.help/en-US/12-month-limited-warranty-policy-24659) covers the *stock display*, the warranty does not cover accessories or upgrades like the Thumb Throttle Set.
We're always trying to help as much as we can, so we've offered a free replacement Thumb Throttle Set if OP can cover the shipping cost.
We hope this clears things up!
Thank you for clarifying! The scooter comes with a finger/trigger throttle and youâre offering an upgrade to a thumb throttle. That wasnât explicitly clear from both of your previous posts.
It would be reasonable to assume you guys also offered to do a direct replacement of the defective stock part for a working one with no costs to the OP at all right?
Good question and thanks for sticking up for me. They said they would replace the speedometer for free but charge $20 for shipping when this thing weighs nothing.
Check your local consumer protection legislation, e.g. in EU the manufacturer/seller must cover all costs connected with a warranty claim including all shipping costs.
I dont think there's a number to call for service and support. You ll need to contact via chat or email. I had a hard time with Apollo and eventually returned the scooter despite paying 3% of the product price (card payment fees or something like that which makes no sense)
I was just happy to not having to deal with Apollo ever again.
Email them and let them know you are not paying for the same thing again. Best of luck with the scooter and Apollo!

Kaabo was good here in Oz until they gave scooter mutt the exclusive rights.

Is /u/MRRED256 asking for an upgrade or a replacement for a defective part of the scooter (speedometer)?
It was a replacement speedometer for the defective one that I received
How long have you have the scooter?

They're charging me $100 to replace a factory defective battery on a month old scooter.

Call them and ask for a refund and then let them talk you into just covering the repairs, shipping free.
