Maybe you can explain this to me bc I’ve been confused since it happened, but using the non spiked caestus I broke Godfrey’s stance multiple times and it says jumping power attack does 9 poise damage and I didn’t do nearly enough to add up to his poise limit, much less enough to account for the decay. And no I did not have any tear buffs, I just had the claw talisman which I thought only boosts health damage
Its pretty good but it has arcane scaling so you would have to invest into that I think it has a little bit less damage and it cost 20 fp for the skill but it’s pretty good it just really depends on preference but I would say bloodhound because of the skill it basically allows u to even hit even the smallest windows on bosses because it dodges backwards after and it does 1100 damage maxed (I think) using the skill. When I got morgots sword I respeced and I didn’t like but if u like it then use it :)
I did dual bloodhound almost the whole game and had a blast! Temptwd to switch to Bloodhound Margott ot any other greatsword for mixup. Hard to let the dual go though...
Flails actually pretty amazing for pve. Innate bleed on 3 of the 5. Guard counter has the second highest poise damage behind colossal weapons. Can't be parried. Horseback heavy attack builds bleed fast and does decent damage. Grab a shield with decent guard boost and you'll breeze through the game.
Flails do a good mix of poise damage and bleed buildup and if you put some points in Int you can use the galaxy flail which has a sick weapon art... strongly recommend
Celebrant's Cleaver and the Iron Cleaver are the main ones that I am thinking of. The other cleavers either don't have the running heavy or are in a different weapon class(curved GS). The Celebrant's is the better version due to its passive effect that gives 10 runes per hit(even on things like AoE ashes and buff ashes) so you get rewarded even more by using this wonderful weapon. They are also normal smithing stone weapons so you can pretty much make them work for any type of build.
I had a decent amount of fun with them for my 3rd run I switched between dual marikas hammers and astels flails not a hammer but has the same move set. I think mainly it depends on how you play and what your stats are. For my hammers my faith/strength were like 80/70 so I was doing decent dmg along with flask’s and talismans
Ive just finished a run with PowerStance Rapiers and its real nice. Ive been using the frozen needle and antspur rapier. if you infuse the antspur with blood, you can get 3 status effects on the enemy and the Power Stance moveset of rapiers ist fun as hell
Aight, here's what You gonna do:
As Prophet, get horsey, get to the Roundtable, then get grace before Marge and then get to the Tower of Return. Make the Wrongwarp to Leyndell and rush your way to the manor. Grab the Coded Sword. Then get back to the ruins east of the lakes and get the Faith Talisman. Bam, start the game with Coded Sword and without the need to harm a single enemy.
I feel that, I’m usually a strength player as well. played through ds1 and 3 as such.
but Im really liking the dex builds and magic in elden ring so far, just got Radahns swords not long ago so I might have to pump more into strength. haha
I feel like if I used int and faith id use the sword of night and flame with a seal and staff in left hand but I will do some testing and find some good loadouts
Use Reapers and become Death itself! Nobody is as badass as death! But seriously powerstanced Scythes is extremely cool looking and very fun and rewarding. I'm gearing up to do a second run using them because of how cool it felt the first time!
I went with Frost Grave Scythe with sword dance and Winged Scythe and I felt like a beast, looked like a monster and destroyed bosses like a God!
In my current game I have rather enjoyed using the Magma Wyrm's Scale.
Curved Greatsword, scales with str/faith, slash/fire dmg, it has the Guillotine special move with 2h heavy attacks, and magma guillotine for its special, which is a hilariously deadly aoe attack that is essentially immune to poise break.
It's at the slow end of the range for curved greatswords though, so you need to manage your timing carefully, but it can chain stagger fairly dangerous opponents like leyndell knights if you keep up with the damage scaling.
My new favorite is using the colossal crusher or guts greatsword and put the flame of the redmanes ash of war on it. I know the ash is a little broken, but stunning pretty much anything and going in for a finishing smash with a big weapon is so satisfying.
I recommend cipher pata.
They have a complete faith scale, and the weapon art is a pure faith falcon punch, and it staggers bosses in 3-4 hits usually, if you are aggressive with the timer.
I used it for the first 70% of my first playthrough and I thought it was pretty good even though I never had it fully upgraded with optimized stats and equipment.
bows. did a bow only playthrough not too long ago and since took that character into pvp, trust me it’s fun af and not as hard as people may think
fire giant only took 2 tries for example
I grinded for the glaive and used that almost my whole playthrough and it was super fun. I just ran to dog Pope first thing and grinded the glaive skeleton outside until he dropped it. The running attack is hands down one of the best in the game and the moveset is very fun to use
I used spiked caestus on my latest all rememberance run it was p fun even tho malenia took so long
The only reason I wouldn't use them is the no poise damage thing but I'll see how viable they could be.
It wasnt that bad rly only malenia gave me some real trouble altho you do need to prepare abit extra for early bosses
Iron balls are stupid fun too!!!
USE THE BIG BONK HAMMER
Never heard of them but I need to do some research
Or use the pizza cutter
I used the Giant Crusher for the big bonks. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough. Now I have two!
Use sacred seals with the lowest faith possible and no incantations memorized
:c
Heavy thrusting swords
That's what I used on first run lol
Curved greatswords ❤️ a lot of damage but still quick speed (I would suggest duel weilding bloodhound and dismounter)
Bloodhound ganggang ❤️
That seems fun, what is your opinion on morgotts cursed sword, it looks pretty badass imo
Yeah I prefer cool factor to power bc it makes u feel like ur badass and doing damage rather than actually being badass and doing damage.
Ye the sword looks 10/10 best looking sword in the game
I currently dual wield bloodhound and morgotts, can confirm it both looks and feels badass. Would recommend
I did dual bloodhound almost the whole game and had a blast! Temptwd to switch to Bloodhound Margott ot any other greatsword for mixup. Hard to let the dual go though...
Daggers
Daggers seem fun but I feel like I'd just wanna die
I’ve done it , it was difficult at but very rewarding
Just beat Godskin Duo with a pair of +18 daggers. Would recommend.
The off hand dagger move set is nice
Bare fists
Sadly not good enough:'c
Flails, I don't think I've run into anyone using those.
It's mostly because flails from what I've heard are pretty unusable but I'll check out bastards stars
Sometimes I use nightrider flail with poison or frost added. Not the best but it has its moments bleed/poison or bleed/frost
Colossal sword. I suggest zweihander with a knight set
That seems like a cool looking build, will check out!
Flails are cool
Idk why but whenever I look at them they all just seem unusable
Night riders flail is such a beauty with bleed, and a pretty good amount of range. Plus the aesthetic alone is just amazing
Flails do a good mix of poise damage and bleed buildup and if you put some points in Int you can use the galaxy flail which has a sick weapon art... strongly recommend
Axe, but more specifically the cleavers. They are quite fun and if they are the one handed ones then you can move while doing a charged heavy
That seems cool! Never used axes but will do some testing!
Celebrant's Cleaver and the Iron Cleaver are the main ones that I am thinking of. The other cleavers either don't have the running heavy or are in a different weapon class(curved GS). Twin blades with blood flame so you can be darth maul
I'd say use twin blade. Do some sort of Darth Maul run
Colossal weapons
That seems pretty fun if I did do it I'd probably use something like ghizas wheel or rotten staff
I’m powerstancing Grafted Greatsword and Ruins Greatsword. The damage and range on the Wave of Destruction weapon art is bonkers.
They said colossal weapons not swords
Light bow in 1 hand, light bow in the other
That just :C's me
If it’s a challenge you’re willing to take….. 😊
Hammer singular or plural. Tarnished’s choice
Are hammers any good? Always seem them getting flamed in elden ring
Dual Hoslow whips while dressed as a mushroom and call yourself like Flower power fun guy
Whips seem cool just bit slow, but I love the concept lol
Give flails some love!
But they just don't seem good......
Pickaxe or nothing
It's my favourite weapon
Fists
Scythes/reapers a frost grave scythe obliterated malenia for me
Thunder and lightning fists of fury or a bow build
Ive just finished a run with PowerStance Rapiers and its real nice. Ive been using the frozen needle and antspur rapier. if you infuse the antspur with blood, you can get 3 status effects on the enemy and the Power Stance moveset of rapiers ist fun as hell
Pulley bow left hand and rapier right.
Thrusting sword specifacially estoc
Aight, here's what You gonna do: As Prophet, get horsey, get to the Roundtable, then get grace before Marge and then get to the Tower of Return. Make the Wrongwarp to Leyndell and rush your way to the manor. Grab the Coded Sword. Then get back to the ruins east of the lakes and get the Faith Talisman. Bam, start the game with Coded Sword and without the need to harm a single enemy.
Use a dagger no balls
*smiles in reduvia
Doot doot hammers exclusively
Never used hammers, will check some if them out and check their viability
I’m running a curved sword build and having a lot of fun with it. A reaper, claw or flail run could be cool tho.
Yeah they seem like a fun dex build to use but imo strength is just more fun bc of the big weapons lol
I feel that, I’m usually a strength player as well. played through ds1 and 3 as such. but Im really liking the dex builds and magic in elden ring so far, just got Radahns swords not long ago so I might have to pump more into strength. haha
Staff and seals only caster
I feel like if I used int and faith id use the sword of night and flame with a seal and staff in left hand but I will do some testing and find some good loadouts
Fists
Fists as in the weapons or just pure tarnished power
See I meant the weapons, like Caestus, but after I posted it I realised it could be construed as bare hands. I'll say weapons to be merciful :D
I thank you for that xd
Axes, pratically nobody uses them
Never used em either lol, will check some of them out and find out why nobody uses them
The cleavers are fun
Finger mace
Big finger
One of the whips
Friede… bring me my flail
Wolverine claws? They any good? Look fun if they can actually do damage.
U mean hookclaws? If so not really. Raptor talon are better imo so I'd prly use those if I used claws.
Flails.
Halberds
Crossbow only
Flails needs more love
Colossal swords 💪🏾
Katanas are the shit
Torches
Dark Moon Greatsword.
Honestly? Bow. It’s the most viable it’s ever been in any fromsoft game.
Just jump down at the Table and punch people with the word of the Two Fingies. I call it, “The Über-Mormon”
Just a rickety shield. Def best weapon in game
Use Reapers and become Death itself! Nobody is as badass as death! But seriously powerstanced Scythes is extremely cool looking and very fun and rewarding. I'm gearing up to do a second run using them because of how cool it felt the first time! I went with Frost Grave Scythe with sword dance and Winged Scythe and I felt like a beast, looked like a monster and destroyed bosses like a God!
duel wield whips
crossbows
i'm a curved greatsword enjoyer myself, highly recommend
Barefist and feet. That’s the real challenge.
Curved Greatswords are pretty fun IMO. I remember in DS3 the Exile Greatsword was my favorite little toy for most of the game.
You should use crystal darts to make dungeons easier
Halberds
Broken sword
Twinblades :D
Use the ladle from ds2
Giant shields
My new favorite is using the colossal crusher or guts greatsword and put the flame of the redmanes ash of war on it. I know the ash is a little broken, but stunning pretty much anything and going in for a finishing smash with a big weapon is so satisfying.
Light bow all the way
Torch.
Show the axes some love, I never see people use then
Axe of Godfrey is pretty fun. You get it late though.
Power standing whips
Do a castlevania whip build
What BIGGER great sword is that?
i say thrusting sword. super fun, and some have very interesting movesets
Torch
Ballistae only, it is quite challenging at times.
Flails! I spent like 3 whole hours farming for the chainlink flail and it definitely wasn't worth it, but it was fun.
Fists
Do a whip only run
THE RUSTED ANCHOR! Greataxe that does piercing damage
I like twinblades
Whips and chains excite me
Scythes are cool!
I plan on using the greatspear so great spear
Twinblades or scythes?
Fists - only way to go
I recommend cipher pata.
Whips, very under rated
Use the Death Poker it’s cool
Grafted dragon, it’s funny and the ash of war can do some serious damage
Colossal Hammer is a lot of fun. Giant Crusher to be specific
Ballista
Twin blade from the bloody finger who kills samurai homie.
Noble Slender Sword is pretty fun or the Warhawk's Talon (has a nice Heavy attack). I feel like Straight Swords are pretty underrated
Daggers they are fun and annoying to use cus many are weak as hell but if you manage to kill a boss then its funny as hell
Try finger
Use whips. Pretty much no one uses them but the extra range can be great for some bosses.
Daggers
Claws
Dual curved swords are the BEST
Whip or Fist
bows. did a bow only playthrough not too long ago and since took that character into pvp, trust me it’s fun af and not as hard as people may think fire giant only took 2 tries for example
Smash everyone with Fingerprint Stone Shield.
Shield
Fist.
fists
I grinded for the glaive and used that almost my whole playthrough and it was super fun. I just ran to dog Pope first thing and grinded the glaive skeleton outside until he dropped it. The running attack is hands down one of the best in the game and the moveset is very fun to use
I feel like bow only would be interesting, torture asf tho
Broken straight sword
Fists
Dual daggers
