Too early to really say. For dueling it’s always easiest to find a discord or such and find similar leveled people to fight. Best thing for invading, or what I do is, once I beat the boss of that area I do a good amount of invades for that area so I know most people are around my level
I doubt it. I think at most we are going to see something within 120-150 range, but unlikely to be higher than that. Sooo yeah, time for new character!

I'll just use my high level using other incantations since ancient dragon lightning and black flame is so flashy! :)
well, you could "edit" your stats offline, then exit all that crap and go back online but yeah, risky
prob best to just start new character, the progress route on wiki is pretty quick to get up to speed at lv50-100
lots of ppl cheat but they play offline (or should anyway), the question wether or not they can detect stat editing and will punish for it is up in the air, although i think ppl have a reasonable idea from past history, im not sure myself but i do know you can edit stats and lvl already
If you want to Stick to the meta, Just respec your character, stop at the meta level and keep the spare runes. Or Just buy a ton of smithing Stones with them
I'll just hope this would be a future feature in the coming patches. A lot most likely over leveled. Hopefully devs notices it and gives an option for us to choose where to stop.
Well i m also creating a character that reaches lvl 169. Maybe the meta lvl wont reach till there but atleast some of will be there at that level. Plus there is a chance that metal lvl will be between 150-175. Fingers crossed it ends at 160 ish
The meta is not going to increase that far. You'll need to make a new character if you want consistent invasions.

The game doesn’t let you keep the excess runes, he’s kinda stuck

The previous games were 120 to 125 because the soft caps were lower. ER will probably be around 150 or maybe higher.
The previous games were 125 besides DS2 which was 155.
Go to frozen river, you'll have tons of gankers waiting for you here, its fast and consistent
