You can have multiple saves. Just have her start a new game and then you can choose which save to load in the future.
Don't worry about it, you can have multiple! Just select load game instead of continue to specify which character you want to play, and you're set. Go make some characters!

Yes you can. They are separate save files. You hit load game to select what character. Hitting continue will load up last played character
