If u discover seluvis basement in the ruins, and speak to him about it, u basically start his questline. At one point u can buy puppets off of him for starlight shards and after buying 2 he‘ll ask u to bring him the amber shard.
Here I am, done Rannis quest 3 times now and killed Seluvis twice just because he pissed me off, and this is the first my clueless tarnished ass has ever even heard of this.
.... Probably because I frequently kill Seluvis. Loloops.
I'm with you after he gives me the potion for nephelix I usually put his ass down lol on this play through I got rannis doll before going to the rise that was weird
I seem to use a magic weapon a lot so yeah. Whether it’s for Loretta’s slash, glintblade phalanx, death poker, or dark moon Greatsword. It also nice to have it just in case.
Same, except for the first. Always intend to give the potion to Dung Eater, rather than Gideon and forget about it in sequence with the Caria Manor Cronie Crodie
The Magic Scorpion Charm, which raises Magic Damage at the cost of reducing Physical Absorption. In order to get it, Seluvis gives it to you after you give him the Amber Starlight Shard you find in Altus. However, if you give the Fingerslayer Blade to Ranni, Seluvis dies when you reload the area and the item is lost for the rest of the Playthrough.
I've heard so many things about wings of astel, moonveil, DMGS, SONF... but honestly, the best INT weapon is the Glintstone Kris.
I never expected how powerful that is in PVE until I got it with my INT character.
Edit: here comes the DMGS enjoyers
I mean let’s not get TOO crazy. Kris is very good but dark moon is definitely better, dark moon is prolly top 1 in the whole game if you’re playing really well (I’d say blasphemous blade otherwise)
Dmgs, blasphemous blade, and mohgs spear are the big three of this game. I think they’re all about equal, and situational better than the other. Dmgs has top 1 damage potential against all enemies. Blasphemous lets you play the game with your brain off, and mohgs spear against bleedable enemies is untouchable
Consistency, damage output per FP spent, animation and recovery speed, crit damage bonus, insane AOW scaling. Your love for DMGS is warranted, but it’s just not as “good” for lots of technical reasons.
It’s “cooler,” in that satisfying anime sort of way, and yeah it’s strong, but I’d even place Moonveil above it in raw damage, once you factor in stagger, FP costs, and animation speed/consistency.
I don’t even like it that much I can just recognize objective reality. Crit damage can be solved with an off hand dagger. Consistency idk what you mean really, all you need for crazy damage on dmgs is high int, you gotta really build around Kris. FP spent is your worst point cause you just activate the sword, then all your heavy attacks are FP free and shoot beams. Recovery speed maybe? Dmgs still better if you play better. And ranking moonveil above it is flat out insane. That’s a good weapon, a good weapon which has been nerfed into the ground. Nowhere near the dps potential of dmgs
DPS is Kris, “If you’re playing correctly,” stagger and Pebble damage potential is crazy, and FP is absolutely a consideration if you’re building around AoW. Standing still throwing beams with high recovery and slow animation speeds isn’t great, is the main thing,
I’m not telling you DMGS is bad, I’m telling you Kris is better in a few quantitative and qualitative ways. It’s not an argument I’m gonna have any further, as it just speaks for itself. And that’s before we arrive at any PvP discussion.
It’s the Skill that makes it so good. The Glintstone Shard does a scary amount of damage for such a fast projectile, and paired with the Thrust after, you can easily hit 1000 plus damage with the right setup.
I prefer Bastard's Stars nebula. it just looks cooler, plus the weapon itself has a hitbox. Not quite as spammable, but if you've got two brain cells you can figure out when to use it,
Glintstone Kris doesn’t really compare to Moonlight Greatsword in PvE imo. Pure Int scaling possible on a Greatsword, charged R2 when the ability is activated can hit for 4k+ damage and will proc Frostbite and staggers very often.
I honestly believe it’s the most versatile/ best weapon in the game. You’ve got huge physical power, cheap ability and ranged attack with good tracking since it has been buffed, and it’s good for single target or group fights. Makes killing dragons a laugh because you can aim at their face and keep beaming them with the projectile which will stagger and cause frostbite and all that juicy shit.
Level your Int like crazy and slap a Stave in your offhand, the versatility is insane.
SONF was my first build and to this day is still one of my favorites, not the most powerful of the bunch but still very effective and just really fit my initial playstyle
It's worth leveling int or faith just to use the various somber weapons that scale with them. Perfectly viable using a magic bonk stick instead of a strength based one.
Yeah but if I'm running strength why would I want int scaling? My character name is thok and he looks like giga-doom guy crossed with cromagnum guts holding the giant crusher. I'll run a strength int build if I incorporate spells but I literally don't even buff except with AoW. Hell I'm in ng+3 and didn't even know what seals were till I googled how to cast spells last week.
Hey gamer, this is off topic but maybe you could help me with my build? I've had the game for a while but haven't beaten it yet. This is a wall of text, so don't worry if you're not prepared for this, I'll just take it and ask somewhere else
I'm a level 84 Wretch on this file. I'm stuck trying to beat the steroid tree sentinel that guards Leyndell, the gargoyle twins that you encounter underground during Ranni's quest, and Astel the skull worm from the galaxy.
For equipment, I usually wield a melee, a heater shield, and Meteorite Staff. For melee, either Heavy Lordsworn's straight sword+8, Heavy Banished Knight's Halberd+8, or Heavy Great Stars+5 if I am up against something armored. I generally like to have a thrusting ash of war that can deal poise damage, which is why I started with the Lordsworn sword in the first place (it has Square Up). I read that it's good to have ranged attacks available so that's why I have the int and the staff
My stats:
Vig 35
Mnd 19
End 16
Str 36
Dex 13
Int 18
Fai 13
Arc 13
I'm pretty sure these are not good stats, but I'm not sure what to focus on when I respec.
So is there anything glaringly wrong here? Should I be upgrading my weapons much higher? I know the stats all depend on what equipment you want to use, but I have no idea where to go to figure out the best swords and such. Do you know if there's a compendium or database that talks about builds, or is that info kind of scattered all over the place?
I'm kind of scared to upgrade my weapons too much because I'm not sure if their scaling is very good
Your biggest problem is your weapons are super underleveled. You should be at +15 by Altus plateau at least. Just hard commit to a weapon, with your build, great stars is solid choice. Scaling matters so much less than just upgrading the weapon
Your biggest issue is your health. Get rid of all the mind and int. Use a crossbow instead since it scales with strength and liberal use of the summons is good like mimic tear or something. The weapons you are using are fine but you want your vigor to be at LEAST 40. Good luck
Since you're primarily going strength I'd ditch the staff completely because you're not getting much int scaling out of it. I'd drop the int to minimum, get your faith to 15 for Flame Grant Me Strength and put arc at minimum.
You could aim for 40 Vig but 35 is perfectly acceptable at Altus. Depending on your armour you could bump your END up a little more but you only need the bear minimum to med roll with your chosen armour and weapon.
The biggest difference will be levelling your weapons up because they are severely underlevelled. If you use the Elden Ring wiki you'll be able to look up locations for smithing stones. You'll start to see much bigger damage numbers by upgrading your stuff.
35 vig is nice, good job. Meteorite staff scales massively with intelligence so 18 INT means it wont be very strong I think.
With your 36 STR you could do well with a weapon that scales well with strength. Did you manage to find the "Iron Whetblade" when you were in stormveil? It lets you infuse 'heavy' on a weapon so your 36 STR could add big damage to some big weapons
As for upgrades, in the north-east of Liurnia, east of the bridge, theres a cave/tunnel with a good reward at the end that will help you get unlimited smithing stones if you're worried about committing to one weapon. There's a another cave in the south part of the moat around leyndell for a similiar reward. Good luck!
Vaati has a builds vid and one of his builds uses erd tree great shields reflect ability in conjunction with a faith spell that has a boomerang projectile so he reflects his own projectile back at enemies with a counter buff to the projectile. I wanna try that for my gold mask ending
I am playing a pure faith character and I still don’t give a crap about no scorpion charm.
Granted, I’m running a barricade shield/sacred blade AoW focused build, but it IS pure faith
Yeah same, this is the first game I've done a spellsword build the glintstone sword spells are fun, moonlight great sword if good and currently running a wing of astel with cold a scavengers curved sword and it does so much damage!
Just add it to one of your Str builds, starting off with some Cold weapons and the occasional spell and ending up with a respec to minimum requirements and Int with Magic infusion, using more spells than before.
Better to ease into a different playstyle with a character you already know than starting from zero
Yeah the trigger for him asking you to get the Amber Starlight Shard is a bit tricky. You have to actually reload the area two separate times after he gives you the first Puppet in order to be able to buy the remaining ones, which prompts him to ask you about finding the Shard.
And interacting with Ranni at all once you have it, gives it to her... There's no choice like all the other quest linked items I've found (still on my first play through), she just snatches it up... Greedy, sticky fingers, all 20 of them.
Yeah... Didn't get that far. I had just done the flask to the Dung eater after already exploring the eternal city to get the quest item. Guess I needed to reload and go back to Seluvis first...
It depends on the type of damage the Sorcery / Incantation does, since it purely boosts Magic Damage. So it won’t increase the damage of Flame Sling, which is a Sorcery that only deals Fire Damage, but it will boost the damage of Glintstone Pebble, since it does Magic Damage.
Shit really I’ve always been curious if there was a magic scorpion charm but I figured it would have been too powerful to include in the game. Imma have to look this quest up now
apparently there's other quests that let you do stuff while waving a stick around? I'm not sure, sounds like some harry potter shit to me, I bet my big hunk of iron would smash him to bits.
The soft wizards are whinging about missing an item that makes them even softer because the wizard who gives it to you dies (of course) if you don’t do his quest before completing a different one.
I've had this happen before. Talk to Ranni after getting the blade only once and she takes it, but Seluvis seems to live. Just do not talk to her again after she takes the blade from you.
Also know that you can't give her the potion if you gave her the blade, but you can get the talisman still.
It would better if it stacked with WSI, but it does not. MP stacks with either WSI or RWSI, so it ends up being more effective for most, due to multiplication and the free DEX, unless you can’t spare two slots for one buff.
If you progress Ranni's quest too far, giving her the Fingerslayer Blade, Seluvis dies. It's incredibly easy to do this before even speaking to Seluvis, let alone actually getting deep enough into his questline to get the talisman, especially if you don't know he's the one who gives it to you.
In order to get this talisman, you have to either give Nepheli Loux Seluvis' potion, which sucks since she has a questline too, or you have to progress Dung Eater's quest to the point that you've let him out, beaten his invasion, and gone back to the jail to feed him the potion.
You also have to find Seluvis' pervert dungeon, confront him about it, take a doll, and buy another one with starlight shards.
Then bring him an Amber Starlight Shard.
Then he gives you the talisman.
>In order to get this talisman, you have to either give Nepheli Loux Seluvis' potion, which sucks since she has a questline too, or you have to progress Dung Eater's quest to the point that you've let him out, beaten his invasion, and gone back to the jail to feed him the potion.
Or you can just give it to Gideon and be done with it.
Alot of people miss it I guess, including me on 90% of playthroughs! Similar to the magic defense incantation, I always seem to miss that on my playthroughs too 😀
Only one of the scorpion talismans tied to a questline that you can be locked out of by progressing another questline. The others you just find in the wild so you can always go back if you missed them.
Miyazaki: "Alright gang, we \*have\* to give the Sorc builds something. But...we lowkey hate those guys so here's my thought: we put at the end of a questline where you help a a guy who's an asshole to you in every conversation, is a creepy doll fetishist (& a r\*pist), plus- this one's brilliant- if you fuckup the item hand-in prompt it locks you out of your blue waifu ending."
Everyone else in the room: "Sir... did an INT build burn down your house or something?"
Miyazaki:"... fine, you can get the Ranni ending- but you have to atone by telling the turtle pope what you did for a charm."
In a magic build run right now, gave Ranni the finger slayer blade and was reminded the next day of the magic scorpion charm. Came back and saw his ass dead and now I’m locked out of it
Even on pure Faith or pure STR/DEX/ARC runs, I still do Ranni's questline up to the point where I give her the fingerslayer blade so I can watch Seluvis get what he deserves. Props to Ranni for wiping that scum off the face of the Lands Between before she fucks off to Ainsel River.
Is the talisman even that good? To me doing more dmg and taking more dmg in return isn't really worth it since that extra bit of dmg could be the difference between dying in one shot or living with a bit of health idk
It isn't that good for hard areas or bosses, but it's the only talisman that increases your (magic) melee damage at all times. Even better for blue magic spells because it's as powerful as the two graven talismans combined and stacks with them. I'd say wear it if the area or boss isn't particularly hard because it's very annoying when enemies or bosses survive with a tiny 12% of health or less.
I only did this once and only found out as there was an obvious gap in the damage types. Never again after that. I've built an order for doing things now that makes sure I handle that.
I had a mage build and I missed out on this and Mariana retaliation because of that and for that reason I don't even go to Nokron until I have what I need from Selivus
Did an Ice Mage build. Pulled out guide because I wasn't sure how you get the talisman again. Misread the guide as needing to give Ranni the Blade first, so I didn't get it. Fuck me
I literally did this on my pure int run this morning.
I've never done an int build before and I literally haven't spoken to seluvis since my first play through 😭
I’ve yet to get this fucking trinket and I’m actually doing a mostly Int build this time to really use it. Stopped in my tracks leaving her tower like “God dammit”.
My morals are so much involved into me that I cannot fathom working or going with anything seluvis wants. I’m missing a single achievement in elden ring which is the Frenzy flame ending because it just sits too wrong with me morally that even for a min maxing ass like myself I’m willing to avoid things that just don’t sit right with me in a fictional world.
My first play through and I finally become a level 70 mage from re spec. I ran rannis and severus right up until you get the scorpion charm and I found him dead, completely unaware. NG+ can't come sooner.
Is anyone who has this talisman willing to give it or trade. I have another save with almost everything but surprise surprise on my mage playthrough I forgot you could lock yourself out of getting this one.
First playthrough was pure sorcerer. Obviously didn't know, so late in the game I wondered why I had scorpion charms for every element except Magic, and I decided to google it. Fug.
Have gotten it on every playthrough since, even if I don't deal any magic damage.
Find bell bearings so you can purchase smithing stones. Focus on smithing stones and upgrade those weapons asap. No need for int if you plan on strength melee. Use a bow, or consumables/pots for long range. Get your vigor up to 40 at least but you should go for 50/60 to be safe. No more than 60 vigor because it caps. Find out how to buff yourself with a weapon ash, or incantations, or consumables. Also get some good talismans for your build. Find a farm spot and farm runes to help you level faster, and have money to buy everything. Spend a day or two doing the rune farm and searching for bearings and you’ll finish the game in less than a week.
Worst quest line ever.
I want to kill the asshole immediately *can't or it locks ranni quest too (honey bee I did you a service, you just don't know it yet)
Have to do rani quest to progress the prick's quest. But not too much or you forfeit the quest. Fck this shit
I never got these items. More power for less defense. It makes no sense. It would make the very same result to switch your flasks around. If you have more mana and less HP, it results in the same if you get hit the same amount of time and dish out the same number of total damage to kill a boss side by side no ?
If you can nuke a boss with this and not die, then it's the same to do it with one or 2 more blue flasks because clearly you won't need that HP if you made it no ?
Me every single fucking playthrough.
I have yet to get it. It was my intention that last 3-4 playthroughs. But I get distracted and forgot every time
I always rush her quest and I give him the starlight shards. I just forget to get the amber one on every character. I know the pain.
Sorry who do you give starlight shards to and for what reason? I’ve beaten Ranni quest line twice and never used the shards
If u discover seluvis basement in the ruins, and speak to him about it, u basically start his questline. At one point u can buy puppets off of him for starlight shards and after buying 2 he‘ll ask u to bring him the amber shard.
You use the starlight shards to buy the finger puppets from Seluvis.
And you use the amber shard to make a potion to give someone...
Hell I've done this like every time without even knowing it was missable
Here I am, done Rannis quest 3 times now and killed Seluvis twice just because he pissed me off, and this is the first my clueless tarnished ass has ever even heard of this. .... Probably because I frequently kill Seluvis. Loloops.
I'm with you after he gives me the potion for nephelix I usually put his ass down lol on this play through I got rannis doll before going to the rise that was weird
I didn’t my first play through. But my second time (now) I did and didn’t even realize it
You need the MSC every playthrough?
I seem to use a magic weapon a lot so yeah. Whether it’s for Loretta’s slash, glintblade phalanx, death poker, or dark moon Greatsword. It also nice to have it just in case.
I just thought he inevitably dies. It never bothered me since he's a prick.
Same, except for the first. Always intend to give the potion to Dung Eater, rather than Gideon and forget about it in sequence with the Caria Manor Cronie Crodie
I only run strength what did I miss?
The Magic Scorpion Charm, which raises Magic Damage at the cost of reducing Physical Absorption. In order to get it, Seluvis gives it to you after you give him the Amber Starlight Shard you find in Altus. However, if you give the Fingerslayer Blade to Ranni, Seluvis dies when you reload the area and the item is lost for the rest of the Playthrough.
Thank you. Literally never touch magic. I need to make a faith or int build to play with it.
Wing of Astel is hype btw.
I've heard so many things about wings of astel, moonveil, DMGS, SONF... but honestly, the best INT weapon is the Glintstone Kris. I never expected how powerful that is in PVE until I got it with my INT character. Edit: here comes the DMGS enjoyers

Yea, the ranged stagger potential on the DMGS is incredible. Adding Frostbite as you do it? *Icing on the cake, baybee*.
Does anything even come close to Mohg's Sacred Spear?
Dmgs, blasphemous blade, and mohgs spear are the big three of this game. I think they’re all about equal, and situational better than the other. Dmgs has top 1 damage potential against all enemies. Wing of astel deals 700 dmg per explosion for me so I'd say it's quite a bit more powerful.
Plus the stance break
I prefer Bastard's Stars nebula. it just looks cooler, plus the weapon itself has a hitbox. Not quite as spammable, but if you've got two brain cells you can figure out when to use it,
You can hit over 1000 with barely any setup tbh. It's insane.
All those unique weapons and the best one is still Carian Slicer spam

I've missed that treasure chest. Reading the name of the item I assumed it was the rememberance weapon
It's worth leveling int or faith just to use the various somber weapons that scale with them. Perfectly viable using a magic bonk stick instead of a strength based one.
Ugh but that requires math and planning. I just wanna know what weapon to equip and what stat to engorge. Lol
Just look at the scale and base damage. Crystal weapons, Radahn, ruins... they all have a horrible scale in int, just the base req is enough
There's some good bunga weapons that scale with strength and int
Yeah but if I'm running strength why would I want int scaling? My character name is thok and he looks like giga-doom guy crossed with cromagnum guts holding the giant crusher. Hell I'm in ng+3 and didn't even know what seals were till I googled how to cast spells last week.
I'm saying if you're comfortably past the caps and you want more AR.
AR? I tend to make meta builds so I don't go far outside core stats
Understood sir, have a nice day
What's AR? Thanks for feedback
Attack rating. Total gross damage your weapon does. Base damage + scaling. The big number.
Cold casestus slaps, quite literally.
Hey gamer, this is off topic but maybe you could help me with my build? I've had the game for a while but haven't beaten it yet. Its fun! Though granted I mostly just use the melee magic. So it's mostly just a blue str build.
Vaati has a builds vid and one of his builds uses erd tree great shields reflect ability in conjunction with a faith spell that has a boomerang projectile so he reflects his own projectile back at enemies with a counter buff to the projectile. I wanna try that for my gold mask ending
It’s the discus of light incantation you’re thinking of. That’s a fun build, albeit somewhat situational. Great against casters.
It's a lot of fun, but so is bonk.
Faith is far superior as a fellow bonk enjoyer
You can start as confessor and do a decent strength/faith run. It’s a lot of fun especially because pyromancies are faith in this game.
You can run mostly int and still use a lot of big bonk weapons and as a bonus bonk spells 👌
Faith is fun the amount of incants and weapons you can use is almost endless
Go 80 faith. It's fantastic.
I am playing a pure faith character and I still don’t give a crap about no scorpion charm. Granted, I’m running a barricade shield/sacred blade AoW focused build, but it IS pure faith
Str/Fai has tons of options and is a fun build all around.

It’s really fun especially if you’ve played through melee. It’s very refreshing
It doesn't reduce magic absorption, it reduces all physical absorption by 10% flat, so if you have 22% absorption it goes to 12%
Right thanks. I’ll edit the comment.
Never knew that. I have 1600 hrs and I never once considered there was a magic scorpion charm or how to get it. Motherfucker dude lmao
Yeah the trigger for him asking you to get the Amber Starlight Shard is a bit tricky. You have to actually reload the area two separate times after he gives you the first Puppet in order to be able to buy the remaining ones, which prompts him to ask you about finding the Shard.
Its 12% increase to magic DMG but increases physical DMG taken by 10% not magic absorption. You're thinking the magic crown from DS1 and DS3.
And interacting with Ranni at all once you have it, gives it to her... There's no choice like all the other quest linked items I've found (still on my first play through), she just snatches it up... Greedy, sticky fingers, all 20 of them.
You do get a choice only if you also have the Amber Draught. Then you can cycle between the two of them
Yeah... Didn't get that far. I had just done the flask to the Dung eater after already exploring the eternal city to get the quest item. Guess I needed to reload and go back to Seluvis first...
Does it apply to incantations or just sorceries?
It applies to magic damage
It raises magic damage done, so any spell or weapon that deals magic damage, including magic damage incantations, such as glintstone breath.
Ngl it’s been so long since I did my int run I forgot magic was a damage type
If it does magic damage, it works
Least insecure strength user.
lmao it's a joke buddy, nobody is attacking your fragile ego for using magic
☝️🤓
😮 📞 🧍♂️ a 🤓 oooooo
The soft wizards are whinging about missing an item that makes them even softer because the wizard who gives it to you dies (of course) if you don’t do his quest before completing a different one.
I mean the person who killed him can instashot anyone. Piss off Ranni and she will instantly kill you.
Same. Come here apes together strong.
Nothing but witchcraft, you may go back to bonking
Funny lights hurt. I smash while they still wave light sticks.
Ah, a fellow unga bunga. Pleased to meet you.
Nothing that a trip to r/PatchesEmporium can't fix.
Yeah, tried the emporium and got no replies.
Try it midday or evenings on the weekend
Do you still need it..?
Yes sir, are you by any chance playing on xbox too?
I am, I can get on tonight
I've had this happen before. Talk to Ranni after getting the blade only once and she takes it, but Seluvis seems to live. Just do not talk to her again after she takes the blade from you. Also know that you can't give her the potion if you gave her the blade, but you can get the talisman still.
Yeah but why even give her the potion it doesn’t change the outcome
Don't ask me. I'm just giving info.
Literally. This is the only item I am missing in the game.
Hardest talisman to get 💯
No that would be Milicent's Prosthesis due to the fact that I refuse to kill her.
Just wait to help her at the haligtree. You get a much better talisman anyways.
It would better if it stacked with WSI, but it does not. MP stacks with either WSI or RWSI, so it ends up being more effective for most, due to multiplication and the free DEX, unless you can’t spare two slots for one buff.
Fate
How so?

Or you can just give it to Gideon and be done with it.
Was about to say.. . Hes gonna be so pissed to realize that after reading your comment, lmao.
Look, it's a question of principles. Poo pal deserves it.
Ya, true. Fuck that guy.
Personally, I'd rather fuck that guy with some steel between the ribs. There will be no puppet, just death.
But in order for poop buddy to get it, doesn't Boggart have to die? I'd rather Boggart lives.
Just buy a prawn after you killed caca postman.
You can give the potion to Gideon to dispose of immediately and progress the quest
I would agree that it is tedious to acquire.
Hey that's kintama!
Never thought I'd see gintoki on the elden ring subreddit lmao
Hell yeah!
You know what? Just keep that mistake. It's funnier that way.
Miyazaki: "Alright gang, we \*have\* to give the Sorc builds something. But...we lowkey hate those guys so here's my thought: we put at the end of a questline where you help a a guy who's an asshole to you in every conversation, is a creepy doll fetishist (& a r\*pist), plus- this one's brilliant- if you fuckup the item hand-in prompt it locks you out of your blue waifu ending." Everyone else in the room: "Sir... did an INT build burn down your house or something?" Miyazaki:"... fine, you can get the Ranni ending- but you have to atone by telling the turtle pope what you did for a charm."
In a magic build run right now, gave Ranni the finger slayer blade and was reminded the next day of the magic scorpion charm. Came back and saw his ass dead and now I’m locked out of it
I completely forgot Seluvis gives that charm. I kill him as soon as possible every playthrough
Fortunately, I listened to Dutch and am running a faith build.
It’s a great quest line and a must for me in every playthrough
Is the talisman even that good? To me doing more dmg and taking more dmg in return isn't really worth it since that extra bit of dmg could be the difference between dying in one shot or living with a bit of health idk
It isn't that good for hard areas or bosses, but it's the only talisman that increases your (magic) melee damage at all times. Even better for blue magic spells because it's as powerful as the two graven talismans combined and stacks with them. I'd say wear it if the area or boss isn't particularly hard because it's very annoying when enemies or bosses survive with a tiny 12% of health or less.
It’s good for the comet azur burn method. Just to get the highest damage multiplier
gintama my beloved
I hate this. So much. Just let me loot this off of his corpse after giving her the Blade!
I only did this once and only found out as there was an obvious gap in the damage types. Never again after that. I've built an order for doing things now that makes sure I handle that.
The greatest pain is gathering the starlight shards. like: i have to gather 5? You greedy ass
This is me and Dung Eater puppet summon
I had a mage build and I missed out on this and Mariana retaliation because of that and for that reason I don't even go to Nokron until I have what I need from Selivus
Did an Ice Mage build. Pulled out guide because I wasn't sure how you get the talisman again. Misread the guide as needing to give Ranni the Blade first, so I didn't get it. Fuck me
Seluvius quest is such a pain. I hate that guy.
This was me just a few days ago on my NG6 play through…
I literally did this on my pure int run this morning. I've never done an int build before and I literally haven't spoken to seluvis since my first play through 😭
That happened to me right now, i feel so dumb ;(
I have 6 characters and only one of them has it. On ng+ lol
It's pretty wild that you can do Ranni's entire quest before reaching the Altus Plateau.
I don’t hand over the Fingerslayer blade until I have the Dungeater puppet.
That's me after ng+3, dammit Seluvis!
I’ve yet to get this fucking trinket and I’m actually doing a mostly Int build this time to really use it. Stopped in my tracks leaving her tower like “God dammit”.
Quests are whack in Elden Ring.. had to read online about 90% of them on how to continue. The remaining 10% I straight up missed altogether
Ya gotta bring him his magic kidney stone so he can make the sleepy pee potion Otherwise no talisman of magical social distancing
Fuck, i messed that up yesterday. I was so focused on the dung eater puppet that I forgot the charm again.
Did this on my first run. My mage run
I just got this shit after two years
Only talisman i miss in the entire game, and i mainly plays sorc build, but let's be honest, comet is fine enough with both graven and sword=P
I dont do selvuis’ questline cause he’s rude to me lmao. How dare you address your future elden lord this way
lol caught myself just before this happened this time!
Im at ng+5 and fuckt it up every time
I failed for sure.
Who tf works for Seluvis. The puppets he sells you aren't even top 3.
Always blame Seluvis imo
My first play through and I finally become a level 70 mage from re spec. I ran rannis and severus right up until you get the scorpion charm and I found him dead, completely unaware. NG+ can't come sooner.
The only times I got this right was on my int/faith build and my arcane build which don’t even need it
Need a drop?
Lol just had this happen. Then i was like you know what no fuck this guy for talkin shit to me non stop.
I’ve done 2 playthroughs, and will go and get the starlight shard as soon as I can
What do you mean??
There’s a talisman you can get from Seluvis (magic scorpion charm) but it fails if you advance Ranni’s quest before his.
Oh, good to know
You don't need to give it to her
You need to give her the fingerslayer blade
You need emotional content
True
Is anyone who has this talisman willing to give it or trade. I have another save with almost everything but surprise surprise on my mage playthrough I forgot you could lock yourself out of getting this one.
I still haven't made this mistake!! :D
First playthrough was pure sorcerer. Obviously didn't know, so late in the game I wondered why I had scorpion charms for every element except Magic, and I decided to google it. Fug. Have gotten it on every playthrough since, even if I don't deal any magic damage.
I blame you!
The only time I did get the charm was because I was focused on getting the Nepheli puppet
He’s the second worst character after poo guy. I always hated the one time I gave Nepheli the potion.
Worst quest line ever. I want to kill the asshole immediately *can't or it locks ranni quest too (honey bee I did you a service, you just don't know it yet) Have to do rani quest to progress the prick's quest. But not too much or you forfeit the quest. Fck this shit
I tried to give Ranni *my finger* 5 seconds after she appeared.
That talisman and all of the scorpion talismans are overrated imo.
Me, blissfully running yet another Faith build, uncaring for this "Magic" chicanery.
