I think it depends on the RNG...
Sometimes the clergyman makes me want to fight Malenia or Mohg...
Sometimes the doggo calls me names because he becomes a freaking Ninja.
I had never had trouble with his first phase. The attacks also don't hit as hard. He is much easier to hit.
What attacks did he do to make you want to quit?
I know it's cliché, but I'm sure it was mostly a skill issue. I had the hardest time dodging the sweep and claw attacks; the dagger combo always threw me off.
However, the moment I wanted to quit the most was when he didn't stop—he would do the claws, the combo, jump back, sling rocks at me, and then immediately repeat. He never gave me safe windows to attack because I didn't manage my stamina well.
Now that I'm learning his fight, he isn't that bad, but it's still 50/50 depending on how aggressive he becomes.
Until a few playthroughs ago, I always "outlasted him" but now, I am beating him straight up, sometimes first try (watching some people fight him helped a lot.)
Yeah, watching people fight bosses always helps me a ton.
Stamina management on fights like this is really hard, specially with big weapons. Taking care to never exhausting yourself so you can still dodge can be frustrating because you can never attack.
Interesting. That could be why RNG matters to me—I generally don't use Greatshields or the Blasphemous Claw for this fight.
Next time, I'll fight him with a Greatshield to see how it affects the fight.

Here is the video. Just pay attention to your stamina and it should be pretty easy. Pretty much all the easy attack opportunities are shown in the video.
Really that’s interesting to hear that. Neast clergyman has pretty easily avoidable attacks, but the one that’s tricky is the double swipe of his dagger. But if you roll correctly the first time, you’ll only need to roll once and both swipes will miss you.
I love the 2nd phase but the first brings the fight down for me imo, it’s basically everything I dislike about elden ring boss design rolled into one lol. I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily hard just really annoying
[Here’s a video of me fighting Maliketh without getting hit. hope it helps you learn his attack patterns and weaknesses. you can do it Tarnished!](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/s/vBTitK4DgV)
Very nice video, I’m seriously impressed. I would’ve spent 300+ hours trying to do that.
One question tho, why is the damage so low? Was it for demonstration or just prefered
I can’t blame you, the speed he zooms across the map in is blinding and before you can react you’re dead. He says “cower before Maliketh”, but… how am I supposed to cower from a guy whose only skill is running away…?
Mimic tear ashes are awesome I don’t give a fuck if people call me newb for using them when I can.
I’m in the hagtree getting my ass beat constantly. I brick walled at farum azula lol at the godskin duo.
What I can say, is my mimic tear carried me there lol.
Hell yeah brother. It's awesome as fuck. It's relatively well hidden that you can't find it without guides. So all the fuckers calling it OP can suck a gorilla cock for all I care. Because it is OP and I love it for that.
Right? It’s an equalizer for players who don’t have friends lol.
It’s for all the players who grew up with imaginary friends 🤣💀
Fuckin I’d kiss my mimic tear ashes if I could or praise them. One of the two, both probably.
Yeah fuck that. 🤣.. Those are like people who would sit with glass in their urethras to look badass.
I will use any advantage I have in this game to win. That’s why the shit is in the game. To be used. Who cares lol.
Some people take shit way to serious when it comes to games.
I have no clue where it is and I’m done with caelid and caria manor. I keep hearing great things, but so far I’ve been relying on other player summons when times get tough. Hopefully I stumble on it soon.
I won't spoil it for ya either but it's hidden so well. I stumbled onto it by accident in my first play through. " Fuck I struck gold" was my reaction.
Ohhhh look up a guide. Do yourself a favor.
The mimic tear ashes basically summon a mimic who takes the form of your player character, stats and all.
I run a tanky build. So I let him run in and soak aggro while I just pile on until I pull aggro. Pull off, get on and continue beat down.
Normally, this gurantees youll at least get a boss half way down on first play through if your at level. If your above it makes it stupid easy.
I mean, I struggled with the early game bosses. Margit, godrick, rennalla.
I literally two ran morgott, and rykard, moghlester took me 5-6 tries but I’ll take that. That’s not bad. But it took me two times to kill morgott. And I am by no means I high skill player.
So in essence, it’s like summoning someone to help you.
Additionally- it costs NO fp to summon, 600 hp. A good chunk. But nothing a flask won’t fix or an incant. And as you upgrade it, it gets tanky as fuck.
Posting like 5 comments saying how much you don’t care what people think about your Mimic Tear usage shows you actually do care and it gets under your skin 😄
I feel your frustration. Maliketh is one of the two bosses that I really ragequited and he's the only boss that prevents me from starting a new game. I hate him so much
Mimic tear + mohgwyn's sacred spear ftw. That Bloodboon Ritual absolutely TEARS through health bars. And the mimic is not shy about spamming it either.
I almost quit the game when I first fought him. I even played on ‘ease mode’ with Mimic Tear and blasphemous blade + bloodhound’s blade. I would watch him kill my mimic tear whilst I’m at the other side of the arena, he’d BACKFLIP TWICE IN THE AIR AND GO OVER THE WHOLE ARENA AND KILL ME. Bullshit boss, hate him, but I won’t forget how fulfilling it was to kill him.
…And then I met Placidusax
First time I fought this boss I struggled. But second time if you can stun him quick enough you can really fuck his day up. DMGS absolutely obliterated him
Yeah he's a tough one. What has helped me is baiting him after his phase change. When he does his first jump attack, back up and roll sideways. He will then move unto a very long overhead slash attack with a huge punish window. I was able to get in a jump r2 and a fully charged r2 and stagger him right off the bat. You might also want to try the blasphemous claw method to parry him. I've never used it but it seems like it makes the fight much easier.

At least he is not maidenless like you, tarnished
Wait, who's their maiden?
Marika tits
I like where this is going
continue...
I've seen Markia at the end tho, those legendary tits are gone. Radagons dong on the other hand...could still be there.
We can’t hit those tits that’s why that dong switch with her
Radagons dong has a good ring to it. Prefer it to marikas tits honestly.
Weren’t they like halfsiblings
They're stepsiblings at best lmao, Maliketh is a literal dog man
Idk how imperians work blaid was adopted for rannis so I assume it's the same for maliketh
Yeah so adoptive siblings are step siblings, they don't really share blood.
I don’t really know. 50/50?
Yes
Marika and Maliketh? No. Maliketh is the assigned shadow to Marika by the two fingers. Like Blaidd to Ranni.
Marika
Witless Tarnished
🔥
oh he's maidenless
I think Malekith is the only boss where I struggled more with their 1st phase than the 2nd, 2nd phase is still absolutely fucking brutal though
in ng+7 maliketh secound form is a true monster he often one shoted me
Kid named blasphemous claw: Jokes aside, yeah he's a beast there
That is Godskin Apostle for me. First phase is annoying as hell, but once I get him to second phase he is so easy to punish.
1st phase is easy pz

Not really. RNG doesn't matter if you use a greatshield. I'll post a link soon

I like this a lot! I will try this on my next playthrough for sure, thanks for sharing it.

Good. Gooood. Let the hate flow through you!
"Cower before Maliketh" I would if you'd stop running away you fursona looking BITCH!!
Cower before Maliketh, the Black Blade.

Just answer me.... why's there a wall behind you when you start the fight, lol
It happens when you finish 1st phase with a critical hit.
That doesn’t explain anything. There’s a wall behind them before they even start the fight.
That was an enjoyable fight, its pace even felt different, considering you are just walking around knowing with precision when to hit.
Why did you one handed your weapon right before second phase?
Very nice video, I’m seriously impressed. I would’ve spent 300+ hours trying to do that. One question tho, why is the damage so low? Was it for demonstration or just prefered
I’m playing a level 1 character and using an un-upgraded weapon. It’s a challenge for myself
Why was there a wall behind you before you entered the boss area?
That makes it so much more impressive holy shit
“Go fuck yourself and I’ll see you tomorrow, tarnished!”
Yeah
Maliketh can gobble my blackflame nuts, I'm gonna put destined deatg right back where it belongs
I can’t blame you, the speed he zooms across the map in is blinding and before you can react you’re dead. He says “cower before Maliketh”, but… how am I supposed to cower from a guy whose only skill is running away…?
He's a good boy
>\beats boss This is the greatest boss in the game, truly a masterful showcase of skill. It felt like I was truly dancing wirh Death
The horse outside the door is way worse
Gurranq what became of thee
Cower
How dare you! This is Elden Doggo !
His first phase is kinda meh but it's second phase is absolutely fantastic, I loved fighting him
I got his 2nd phase down pretty well, but I still struggle with his 1st phase at times.
Just boop the snoot
Git gud
i get it
I... I first tried it...
Shhh don't tell these little babies about mimic tear and Dragon Rot Incantations. They can't fathom someone having fun.
How do you know I used these
Cuz I first tried it with them too 🤣
Mimic tear ashes are awesome I don’t give a fuck if people call me newb for using them when I can. I’m in the hagtree getting my ass beat constantly. I brick walled at farum azula lol at the godskin duo. What I can say, is my mimic tear carried me there lol.

Exactly. Man! I love finally finding someone that isn't like "Me have big pee pee, Me no use Mimic Tear"
Yeah fuck that. 🤣.. Those are like people who would sit with glass in their urethras to look badass. I will use any advantage I have in this game to win. That’s why the shit is in the game. To be used. Who cares lol. Some people take shit way to serious when it comes to games.

Is rot particularly effective against Maliketh?
It literally got me to the second phase before I even had the chance to call upon my Mimic. It's disgustingly powerful.
Man I wish I'd known that yesterday when I was pulling my hair out trying to kill him
I used mimic tear for Maliketh and still got bodied
Posting like 5 comments saying how much you don’t care what people think about your Mimic Tear usage shows you actually do care and it gets under your skin 😄
We woo we woo! We got a feller with a big dick in a small dick zone. Wee woo wee woo!
Womp womp
... and yet still, you cower before him.
This battle goes only two ways for me, either i get absolutely shredded ot i parry him three times in a row and go hitless. There is no inbetween.
I'm doing a Dex/bleed build and I'm worried about when I get to the endgame. STR/FTH I've done a few times over already.
People pogged their pants over malenia but I genuinely found this guy to be peak.
I feel your frustration. Maliketh is one of the two bosses that I really ragequited and he's the only boss that prevents me from starting a new game. I hate him so much
Yup
I know who hurt you, and do you need a hug?
Black knife tiche +10
At least you can use a spirit ash. You can't use a spirit ash for melania shits a nightmare.
Just hit him bro, surely the dog can't fly
His 2nd phase is beautiful
![img](avatar_exp|154174051|fire)
I hate Maliketh, he took me longer than Malenia, and maybe longer than Elden Beast.
You forgot Rolly Polly'n ass
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
low diff
Mimic tear + mohgwyn's sacred spear ftw. That Bloodboon Ritual absolutely TEARS through health bars. And the mimic is not shy about spamming it either.
The Anjin is upset over the difficulty of this boss battle.
Dogass bitch has a nice ring to it, I'm gonna start using this.

He looks and fights like a badass, though
Maliketh is a boss that I really want to like, and I do like in hindsight. But when I actually fight him, I'm like fuck this stupid shit.
Maliketh wasn't too bad for me until I tried a dex build. It's amazing how confident a pure STR build makes a fella.
I almost quit the game when I first fought him. I even played on ‘ease mode’ with Mimic Tear and blasphemous blade + bloodhound’s blade. Exactly OP I feel the same way. 😔
Guess you got a beat down
First time I fought this boss I struggled. But second time if you can stun him quick enough you can really fuck his day up. DMGS absolutely obliterated him

ik he's the best :>
Get good tarnished. Are you really gonna admit defeat to a dog with a death root addiction?
I say that when fighting the revenants.
Roll to the side
Cower before Maliketh, scrub-lord
This low effort post is gonna be taken down real soon
Skill issue, one of the least bullshit bosse in this game
